Riots over Tommy Robinson? In his dreams. A few idiots might kick off, but no riots.

PandoraSocks · 08/10/2025 12:54

He is actually up in court next week. Charged with an offense under the Terrotism Act. So many trials, it is hard to keep track of them.

No, but he is a civic nationalist

I'm really scared of what happens to me if ethno nationalists get in to be perfectly honest.

@PandoraSocks he keeps banging on about how he'll be back in prison soon

The wiki page has got some trials stated for next October but I thought they were coming up really soon, I hope they are next year because if he is putting in prison again soon, in this climate, there might be riots.

No he isn't, he is a a talentless grifter who makes money by inciting hate

This thread is just full of gossip. It doesn’t matter who you like or dislike but facts are facts. TR’s cousin was raped by a grooming gang 15 years ago. How many more victims were there because everyone thought it was ‘racist’ to talk about it? And do people still think it’s racist? TR says that UK is in danger from the ideology of Islam, which is not a religion, it’s an ideology. I don’t ’like’ TR but maybe this is because I’ve had 15 years of the media telling me he’s things that maybe he’s not. I don’t know. But I know he’s right about some stuff which women should care about ie rape.

Your facts are a bit shaky. Of course Islam is a religion, Islamist ideology is not all of Islam. YL may on occasion be right about some things. But he's also very wrong about others. The grooming gangs were undoubtedly covered up and its a scandal but we should care about those girls because its the right thing to do. Not because of our views on YL. I've never met a feminist or a Jewish person who thinks he's anything other than a racist, an opportunist and no friend to women or Jews. If you care about women or Jews you'd do better listening to them and ignoring him altogether.

OneNattyReader · 11/10/2025 08:29

Many pro-Israel people are avid supporters of him. They see him as a hero for Jewish people. Not sure why.

Unfortunately lots of Jewish people are right behind him and openly so. In local Jewish community groups, support for him is the majority now. Anyone who speaks against him is either banned or shouted down by a majority who share his values.

Some do, some don't. I can't see the link. I said I had never met one. I didn't say there weren't any. Jews are not a homogeneous group that think the same on every issue and cover a very wide political spectrum.

Board of Deputies, which represents a lot of Jews in this country put out a very robust & clear statement.

No I'm saying that it is becoming the majority of Jewish people who consider themselves Zionists are now adamantly behind Tommy. He's lorded as a hero in these groups. I think if you joined one and had a look, you'd be horrified.

I don't even know what this post means.
Which 'local Jewish community groups' - you know all the Jewish communities in the country and have polled their opinion on YL? Do you know who the Board of Deputirs are? Have any of them been banned by their local communities? I happen to know one and can confirm that he has not been banned by his community (I don't know how you define membership of the 'local community'. I refer to his membership of a synagogue, which he has not been banned from).

Do you have any evidence to back this up? I find it very hard to believe.

I posted one group that anyone can check out. I'll find more links. This has been going on since 10/2023.

Many online groups where Jewish people discuss issues. Whether they are based solely around Jewish identity or more around being Jewish in a certain geographic location. I am in many because I am Jewish. The support for TR over the last two years has risen massively in these circles - offline too. Women and men.

It is part of the reason I do not attend imperson group events any more.

Just a post ago it was the majority. Now its only 'becoming' the majority.

They are certainly the loudest and as I said, anyone who speaks against him is ousted from the group. I was called a moser because I reported some anti-Black and Islamophobic racism that was taken down.

There was an interesting link on mn of Stacey Dooley interviewing him, apparently they were at school together. She was doing a little programme about social tensions in their home town of Luton back in 2012.

That's terrible. I think its partly the moment we're in though. The left had betrayed the Jewish community so wholeheartedly over the last 20 years its not surprising that others have seen an opportunity. As a jewish person you know the BoD and you know that also many Jews don't support YL.

Honestly. No I don't know that. I know that the Jewish people who definitely do not support him and are vocal about it are openly pro-Palestine.

What I see in my community is increasing support for right wing racists like TR.

I hadn't seen this when I posted but it does rather prove my point. I notice in my left wing circles that people who have shown no interest insupporting Jews over the last decade are now revelling in the opportunity to criticise Israeli government for inviting YL. Its vile. They don't really care about 'fascism'.

Ok, well I'm not Jewish but know and work with a lot of Jewish people. One or two are 'Pro-Pal' but most are most certainly not and I have never come across support for YL. And my point about tbe BoD stands as they are a national organisation representing the wider Jewish community. I'm not dismissing your experience i'm suggesting its not representative of the whole, just as, obviously, mine isn't. It is undoubtedly true and has been researched and commented on that the Jewish community has become more aligned with the right (not necessarily extreme right). The Jewish community historically was left wing, and the left historically was at the forefront of the fight against antisrmitusm and was very pro Israel. The left has so thoroughly abandoned both causes its not surprising that there has been a shift to the right.

The scariest thing about it is that people know that it is essentially white supremacy, so they know that supporting someone like TR publicly at work could get you in trouble with your job. Not because of his opinions on the I-P situation, but because he is undoubtedly racist and misogynistic due to other things he has said.

Yes TR appeals to their Zionist ideals when it comes to the Jewish community, but for a lot of people, and I'd say men more so than women, it just provides an excuse to openly support someone who is a proud racist. They don't only agree with his new views on Israel, they agree with his views on all non-white people, too. Especially Muslims

I think what we're seeing is the hardening of extremism in all communities. I do feel that the collapse of the ideals of the left are to blame. We all need to stand up for a less tribal politics so that there is space for people to speak to each other.
