I have friends in Qatar who received shelter in place notices from the US embassy earlier, then repeated by the UK Foreign Office. Schools are shut tomorrow and they’ve just closed the airspace. Pretty worried now.

They cancelled a ton of flights from UK to Dubai yesterday. There was definitely some sort of prior warning

I wish trump would see this as retaliation that had to happen. But he’ll see it as an act of war and now go hell for leather

With any luck, or common sense, that’s the end of it.
The Americans can let this go, the Iranians can say they retaliated. Everyone is happy.
Killing any Americans would be very silly, knowing that America or Israel can basically hit any target they want anywhere in Iran.

The Qatar statement also refers to the safety of Qatar air force personnel stationed at the base as well as other friendly forces - sounds like they were all evacuated beforehand but Iran cannot risk one Qatar national being hurt.

Although I do wonder if the Qatar statement is also face saving politics. They have been the neutral mediators in other conflicts and can't risk being seen as one side or the other. Words are cheap but particularly if they have told Iran they will have to protest beforehand, possibly just words. What would they actually do?

Oh yeah, I meant because it’s just the base in their minds they thought it would be all fine, not taking into consideration Qatar being upset it’s in their airspace etc

Looks like flights heading for Dubai are now being diverted to Bahrain. This is escalating so quickly.

And Bahrain are sounding sirens and telling people to get to a place of safety. I really hope this is not the start of something huge.

I wonder if intelligence has info that Dubai will be next. Its like Iran are going for a scatter gun approach in the hope to hit one US base no matter what country its in.

Bahrain airspace is shut so I don't know where they're going!
