US confirms plan for private firms to deliver Gaza aid despite UN alarm

The US has confirmed that a new system for providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza through private companies is being prepared, as Israel's blockade continues for a third month.

US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said "distribution centres" protected by security contractors would provide food and other supplies to over a million people initially, as part of an effort to prevent Hamas stealing aid.

He denied Israel would take part in aid delivery or distribution, but said its forces would secure the centres' perimeters.

It comes as details emerged about the controversial plan, which UN agencies have reiterated they will not co-operate with because it appears to "weaponize" aid.

The delegates left an approved route so the IDF fired shots at the air "to distance them".

The delegates were not happy but neither did they continue walking towards an area they were not authorised to be in.

Over 200 were shot - how can you hit over 200 people and use the excuse that they walking towards you? Some had shrapnel from the canons - is utilising canons, quadcopters and snipers to kill or injure that many people acceptable because they walked in a certain direction??

We all know how heavy handed the IDF are when they are not even in a war zone. They shot warning shots at diplomats from allied countries with the same excuse tha they weren't sticking to the designated routes. By that logic did the diplomats from the UK and EU deviate purposely from the route? Did they do it because they had a crystal ball and knew the IDF would break all protocol and start shooting wildly in the air and this would be recorded and cause an uproar? Was it all a big plan to demonise the IDF and inspired by 'blind hatred of Jews'?

Shot at Irish peacekeeping troops last week too.

Ireland issues formal rebuke of Israel via UN after troops came under fire in Lebanon

Today in Lebanon, an Israeli strike killed one person in the south of the country despite a six-month-old supposed ceasefire.

You're talking about a separate incident.

And just repeating stuff that came from Hamas and has been denied by the IDF and GHF.

That post was in response to the poster who claimed the Palestinians are purposefully acting in a way that makes the IDF shoot at them with the sole purpose to demonise them.

So my question was, did the EU diplomats also plan out this whole thing just to demonise the IDF because according to the poster it's just all motivated by blind hatred of Jews. So all of this is just a ploy to force the IDF to act like fucking psychos and they have no agency in any of this mess.

Whatsinanamehey · 03/06/2025 12:13

If Israel and the IDF have nothing to hide then why won't they allow an independent investigation into the shooting of civilians who are attempting to collect aid. I mean if they are saying the truth this would be the best way to absolve them of blame.

Twiglets1 · 03/06/2025 12:59

kirinm · 03/06/2025 11:57

A genuine question. Is there any circumstance where you WOULD consider the IDF to be at fault or acting unreasonably without trying to deflect blame. Your posts suggest that the IDF can shoot for pretty much any reason.

What were your views on the medics that were killed by the IDF and buried in a mass grave?

You've asked me this question before and call in a "genuine" question but the repetition is tedious.

As I've said before, yes there are circumstances I would consider the IDF to be at blame. I blame them for allowing the Settler situation to have developed for example, and for defending the Settlers who have acted illegally.

I blame them for the situation where they attempted to destroy evidence by trying to bury a bus.

In return can I ask you again since you tend to not answer this question: do you blame Hamas for October 7th?

Who says they aren't allowing one?

I mean it would be a bit hard in a war zone and I'm not sure who we would all trust to be independent but still, I've not heard them saying they won't allow an independent investigation once it's safer in that area.

Women and children said to have been killed (the Red Cross) today. I’m sure small children must’ve been terrifying for the IDF.

I did actually draft a response but deleted it because the whole thing is totally tedious.

For the avoidance of all possible doubt, the only people to blame for October the 7th are Hamas. Who else would I blame? I’m not trying to caveat that like you do with the precious IDF. It should never have happened and of course hostages should never have been taken.

Do I think October 7th justifies what is happening now? Absolutely not.

Do I trust the Israeli government and the IDF given what their ministers openly say and how often the IDF prove themselves to be liars? Absolutely not.

All you had to do was answer the question.

People shoot enough questions at me including you and often the same questions over & over again.

Investigators went into Syria, Darfur, Iraq during active war.

The UN have set up independent investigations previously like for Yugoslavia. The UN, the ICC and human rights organisations like Human rights watch and amnesty international are independent of each other as well. But of course Israel has been eager to smear all of them.

Odras · 03/06/2025 17:25

I don’t think there is any question that Hamas committed the atrocities of 7/10. The world agrees that it did, and Hamas also admitted it.

Is it really up for debate?

Well let's hope that an independent investigation happens here too then, sooner rather than later, from a body that hasn't already attacked Israel (or they can't really be called neutral)

So any body who has ever criticised Israel cannot be trusted? Righto.

Odras · 03/06/2025 17:47

Well yes there must be people who do. There are certainly people who excuse what Israel has done because of 7/10.

Whatsinanamehey · 03/06/2025 18:37

As every other credible organisation had criticised their conduct and rightly so. Heck even our own pretty useless government has.

Stripes56 · 03/06/2025 18:37

Twiglets1 · 03/06/2025 08:55

The UN should have called for an independent investigation into the incidents when they first came to light. Instead they reported the Hamas version as fact.

Now they are calling for an independent investigation because the IDF and GHF have challenged the version they put out.

You would think the UN would have learnt by now to not just blindly repeat information from Hamas-controlled organisations without at least mentioning that the accounts haven't been verified.

@Twiglets1
Maybe the UN got from medical staff at the hospitals and from people whose families were injured/ killed and taken to hospital.
You are not expecting UN to just get their info from either Hamas or the IDF?

kirinm · 03/06/2025 18:38

Whatsinanamehey · 03/06/2025 18:29

Exactly! Israel investigating itself is probably the level of independence that the ‘but Hamas’ posters would be happy with.

BelleHathor · 03/06/2025 18:45

The main consulting firm that partnered with GHF has quit. I wonder what did it? There was a lot of money to be made, GHF claimed it had over $100 million in funding.

"Sources familiar with the initiative told the Washington Post that GHF is now struggling to function without its core team, particularly following the withdrawal of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the global consulting firm that had served as a critical operational partner.
On Friday, BCG announced it was terminating its contract with GHF and withdrawing its personnel from Tel Aviv. One senior partner involved in the project was placed on leave, pending an internal review. According to the Washington Post, BCG had effectively been the engine of the project—designing the logistics model, determining operating costs, and coordinating the contractors who built four distribution centers in southern Gaza. Although BCG insisted it had offered its services pro bono, other sources claimed the firm submitted invoices exceeding $1 million per month."

I'm sure the IDF do get jittery when they see Palestinians deviating from the designated access routes, walking towards them and not moving away after the IDF have issued warning shots (as reported by ABC news above).

How are they to know the people walking towards them are not Hamas or Hamas supporters who want to kill them? Seeing as Hamas don't wear uniforms to fight in and hide amongst the civilian population it is not surprising if the IDF see potential threats everywhere.

Is this an agreement that the IDF may have killed and injured many innocent people because they wondered from an agreed pathway.
Perhaps they wrongly felt safer being in a crowd- the poor souls.
