@Efacsen I saw the footage of the attack at the Kamal Adwan hospital and it filled me with rage. There was medical staff in panic trying to evacuate patients whilst under fire.
I still can't believe after all these months nothing has changed

Efacsen · 23/05/2024 09:57

No I didn't see that @Parkingt111 it sounds awful

It's barely news now when compared to the coverage of al-Shifa, Nasser etc

Thank you for that article which is showing just how many hospitals and health workers are being targeted in the war zones around the world.

“It also warned of a new trend in which drones armed with explosive weapons are used to target health facilities.”
That would seem to be anything but accidental.

It is clear the consequences last way beyond the duration of any given war, leaving children without early help and treatment and vaccinations, and leaving whole populations without the health infrastructure they need.

Oh no Sad hopefully this will get sorted out

Al-Aqsa Hospital to cease operations due to lack of fuel: Gaza Health Ministry

Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza will soon stop its operations “because of [Israel’s] practices and the United Nations’ procrastination regarding the necessary fuel for the generators to work at the hospital”, Khalil al-Degran, Gaza Health Ministry spokesperson says at a news conference.

He said the hospital received 3,000 litres (800 gallons) of fuel on Wednesday, when it needs 5,000 litres (1,320 gallons) to operate, adding that there are currently 1,300 sick and wounded patients in the hospital.

“Their medical treatment will stop because of the lack of fuel,” he continued.

“We have launched so many appeals during recent days to urgently have fuel in the hospital, but no concerned parties have responded''

Fourteen patients are trapped in northern Gaza’s al-Awda Hospital, which is currently besieged by Israeli forces. Four doctors and 2 paramedics have promised to stay with the patients until they can be safely evacuated

Only 30 minutes of fuel remain at Al-Aqsa Hospital

[The Gaza Health Ministry] just updated us that the hospital is going to run out of fuel in the next 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we are talking about hundreds of patients that are daily doing dialysis, and most of these patients were transferred from Rafah, from the hospitals there.

We are also talking about babies connected to incubators, and we’re also talking about people who were injured by Israeli forces and are undergoing surgeries every single hour.

It is @anotherlevel truly heart-breaking

Really and truly can't imagine where these 1300 patients will be evacuated to - it seems like all the hospitals are now out of service

And I can't bear to think what's going to happen to the babies. I just can't.

Efacsen · 23/05/2024 17:43

You're right @anotherlevel it doesn't bear thinking about at all

Looks like there are a couple of field hospitals left [but only around 60 beds each] and ironically Alhili hospital

Maybe ?European hosp too

Twenty newborns at risk in Al-Aqsa Hospital: UNICEF

As Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah struggles to get fuel, its oxygen generators may run out of power, putting the lives of 20 newborns in peril, warns the UN’s children agency, UNICEF.

It makes me very sad to think of all the adults, children and babies that will have died from illnesses and injuries, that if treated effectively and on time would be considered minor issues.

This must be putting whatever limited services can be offered under even more strain, as small medical problems without adequate treatment progress into bigger medical problems.

Those that survive these what should be minor issues may be left with life changing physical illnesses (not to mention the psychological impact of being medically neglected and disability) that decrease any hope for a better quality of life and increase the cost of rebuilding Gaza and rehabilitating it’s people.

The entire population of Gaza is being unfairly punished. There is no justification for this.

Kuwait hospital in Rafah pleads for fuel deliveries 'to ensure its continued operation

The Kuwait Speciality hospital in Rafah pleaded for fuel deliveries on Saturday “to ensure its continued operation”, saying it was the only one in Rafah governorate still receiving patients, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Yes that looks like the end of the Kuwaiti hospital @anotherlevel

Staff have been re-deployed at the International Medical Corps field hospital [160 beds] in al-Mawasi which had to be dismantled in Rafah and moved to it's new location

OP posts:
Efacsen · 30/05/2024 08:27

The field hospital above seems to have been moved again because of IDF attacks on al Mawasi to a location between Rafah and Khan Younis - it's where the victims from the recent attack on the tents are being treated so can't imagine how they managed to do that

''Nearly all hospitals in Gaza are out of service as Israel assaults Rafah''
