It’s just beyond awful. The idf have dropped leaflets telling Palestinians to move. There is no where for them to go. This is beyond awful. More children will be blown apart, more families destroyed and all for what? Sick beyond what I ever imagined.

The idf have no plan apart from indiscriminate killing.

https://x.com/drtruthe/status/1789311217259139492?s=61&t=nilGqPeurpC5xVqZAZdZog - this image is very disturbing. I don’t want to upset anyone. The people who really need to see it are those still defending the actions of Israel. And I can show them thousands more images if they think this is an unfortunate isolated incident. This is what idf WANT to do. It is the purpose of the bombs.

@EasterIssland and no hostages? Sad Weren't all the remaining hostages supposed to be in Rafah?

Statement from the Jewish Council of Australia - made over a month ago but still very relevant as the violence has only increased.

Imagine how many children and their parents might have been saved if Western countries had cut ties back when it was written?

Honestly, the people supporting this should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves. Disgusting beyond words. Child killers.

There are no rules, this is beyond evil.
From 972 Mag, an Israeli publication:
"Israeli soldiers describe the near-total absence of firing regulations in the Gaza war, with troops shooting as they please, setting homes ablaze, and leaving corpses on the streets — all with their commanders’ permission."

Neither country will never get over the psychological effects of this, will they?

im sorry to say I have very little sympathy for the perpetrators though.

In the act of dehumanising the Palestinians, they have lost all humanity themselves.

Finallyloggedin · 08/07/2024 22:17

@AhNowTed so true, they have lost all humanity, haven’t they? It’s a shame so few western leaders and Israeli supporters are willing to point it out to them.

@BelleHathor its terrifyingly unhinged, isn’t it? Anything goes. They act like they are in some hideous video game.

@AhNowTed and @anotherlevel totally understand, there are no words left at this stage.

id love to hear from some of israels supporters though… How do you live with yourselves?

“It’s highly dangerous to go out and also to stay indoor.. I don’t know what to do..

Heavy #Israeli_bombing everywhere in the city of #Gaza!

Residents of most of #Gaza’s areas were ordered to evacuate..

I see them in the streets —some going east, some going west, some going north and some going south..

Some are staying in the streets..

We are heading to the unknown..

Keep us in your prayers..”

@Finallyloggedin I know an older Israeli gentleman who actually left Israel to live elsewhere due to the occupation. He has explained that he grew up being taught that it was all the Palestinians fault and that they wanted to destroy all Jewish people. He believed it, so served in the IDF, got married had Children etc. But he always had this nagging feeling that something wasn’t right. So he read and learned about the History that had been hidden from him. He learned that a lot of what he had been taught was mischaracterised. So he began to campaign for Palestinian rights, but he found he was extremely angry and frustrated as nothing ever changed. His family were against this so disowned him. Eventually he left Israel and now lives alone but he is happy. He described the process as extremely difficult as he had to do work to unlearn the prejudices he has been taught. Many people can't or won't do this, it's easier and neater to hold on to the story as you believe it. Confronting something that your identity is tied to changes you and there's a lot to lose. The thing he said that made me understand how soldiers can do this was about dehumanisation: "You're seeing it the wrong way, in order to dehumanise someone, you must first think of them as bring human, many do not".

Finallyloggedin · 09/07/2024 22:10

@BelleHathor that’s really interesting to hear about. He sounds like a brave man. I can see why he felt he had to leave, it must have driven him mad having people all around him determined to bury their heads in the sand. A bit like Alon Mizhari must feel.

The pressure to conform is so strong in any society too, so when the society you live in is collectively supporting the oppression of another group and holding on to stereotypes to enable this ‘othering’ there must be a great pressure to conform. In fact we have seen how peace activists in Israel are regarded by some (not all) as traitors.

Please save my father. I’m begging you. I pulled my killed mother. She is in my lap.

I posted this in another thread because I didn't realise it was already posted. The first response was disputing the veracity of the video.

Bombing children and families like this is just barbaric. It's incomprehensible.

I adore him genuinely. He is the best of all of us ❤. His patience and gentleness when challenged by people being racist due to him being Israeli is admirable. No excuses or justifications, just love and best of all He never speaks for Palestinians when asked what the solution should be.

He must be a strong, good person and have extraordinary insight. As you say, most of us accept the world we are born into, and our views of others around us, or ‘outside’ us, without question.
