Those who say it's just a virtue signalling exercise and makes no difference....why on earth would anyone vote no to a ceasefire then? If the vote holds no value why wouldn't you vote in support of a ceasefire and not make yourself look like a pure cunt?

I've always voted labour but won't in the next election. I expect the tories to not give a fuck about civilians but I'm really disappointed in Labour MPs who voted no, or abstained. I'll abstain in the next GE - this vote did matter. Will I fuck vote for a party turning a blind eye to genocide.

From there David Bengurion declared the Independent State of Israel.

May I also add that a total of 784 British men, women, soldiers and civilians were killed between the years 1945 and 1948 in an attempt to bring peace and stability to Palestine.

The current situation has nothing to do with the UK. That lies squarely with HAMAS death squads, the Einsatzgruppen in every intent, who brutally murdered 1400 men women, children, and babies or do you think they deserved it, being as they were Jewish?.

You expect us believe that you’ve always voted Labour but now, when there is a chance of actually getting the Tories out, you won’t vote for them because their motion called for a humanitarian pause in fighting rather than a ceasefire.

Personally I think that sounds like bullshit - I think you’re a Tory voter trying to stir up trouble.

Maybe some of us don't care about whether we look like a 'pure cunt' or whether we look like a person who - as a PP put it - is 'opposed to genocide' (FFS). Maybe some of us live in the impure real world where pragmatism and changing what you can are more important than futile gestures.

I mean if you want to wear a sticker that says "I am a good pure anti-genocide person in favour of peace" you can get them printed quite cheaply these days.

It was an SNP motion. They are well known for virtue signalling nonsense while their own country is an absolute riot under their watch. No way on this Earth would I vote for anything that aligned me with their politics. Also I don’t think you understand how politics works. You stand for a party and are voted in to Parliament to vote with them. I don’t think there’s anyone that doesn’t want to see a stop to the loss of life and a pointless vote in the U.K. Parliament means absolutely nothing and certainly IMO doesn’t make someone a “pure cunt” for not indulging the SNP’s usual rabid attention seeking.

Also KS is in a very difficult position given the allegations of anti semetism in the Labour Party of late

Thank you for writing that piece of the Balfour Declaration which begins "it being clearly understood...". I ought to read the whole of the declaration.

I think it is always wise to pay attention to everything which is said/written. We are all too hasty to pick on the first few words. e.g. Mr. Biden did indeed say that he supported Israel's right to exist and defend its borders but a few moments later he also said that the US had retaliated in rage after 9/11 and he said they made a mistake in doing so.

My MP is Tory so no, he didn't vote for a cease-fire, I guess.

What's the point? We have no influence, and it's none of our bloody business. We're not a big player on the international stage and the point of votes like these, as far as I can see, is to pretend that we are. Who cares what we think? It's pure dickswinging.
