M&S Christmas ad

M&S now deleted Christmas ad has been heavily criticised for burning hats in the colour of the Palestine flag and for the reflection of a blue and white flame burning in the eye of a smirking Sophie Ellis-Baxter.

Lots of people are boycotting M&S for the ‘dark and twisted’ post supposedly celebrating the genocide of Palestine even though M&S say it was filmed before the 7th October attack from Hamas, pointing out the founder of M&S as being a Zionist.

It does seem to be very much a coincidence?

I’m simply reporting that mandy people are offended and feel that M&S might have reflected better on their choice of ad in view of what’s happening in the world. That is all.

It is a sensitive issue and there are many ‘idiots’ as you call them, that are deeply affected by the plight of the Palestinians.

Honestly OP, I think you need to just take a step back and accept this is not some kind of weird conspiracy. If you keep doubling down on this no one on here is going to take anything else you say about Gaza etc seriously. It's too absurd. Accept it's not offensive and then move on with your life.

No, I don't think there are any hidden messages. The only message I can see is the overt one 'Do only what you love at Christmas' which does seem to ignore the complexities of life ... but might be a reflection of current mores.

I'm rather concerned about traffic lights. I mean they are green and red with a flashing Amber which obviously signifies fire. We really need to have a rethink of the traffic light colours since we are being very offensive here. Perhaps now is the time to consider less problematic colours to show support and not cause further offence.
