I find myself in a very odd situation...

Husband and I dtd on Thursday night and I woke up the next day and thought "omg I'm pregnant".....but we aren't ttc and I'm on the pill and taking it correctly.

I've had two previous pregnancies. First one was early miscarriage, second was my son who's now 20 months. Both times i knew I was pregnant within 2 days. I know lots of people will tell me thats not possible, but within 2 days I was being sick and feeling really nauseous every time I ate.

I feel like that again right now. Sicky, sore and heavy boobs (I get a whole tonne of PMS symptoms but never get sore boobs!)....and I'm too early for PMS symptoms yet.

I don't know why I'm posting this other than I just don't know what to do with myself at the moment. I feel really sick and strange but not ill. Last time I went to Dr's feeling like this I was pregnant. But I've only had sex once this cycle and I'm taking my pill so I have no reason to suspect I would be pregnant....except I can't shake the feeling that I am 🙈 It can't even be tcc paranoia because we're not trying! We'd be happy if we are, but we're not trying.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I don't know what to do with myself because I feel rubbish but not ill, and I can't focus on anything because my brain keeps wondering if I'm pregnant and if I am, whether I'll soon lose the pregnancy 🤦‍♀️

Just.....Arghhhhhhhhh! 🤣

With my DS, didn’t have a clue until I got my BFP the day of period even though we’d been TTC for 13 cycles.

With my two recent chemicals, I knew about a week after conception even though tests didn’t turn positive for ages.

Following with interest to see if you’re right!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 08/06/2022 13:41

First time no.
Second time yes, and yes

Orgasmagorical · 08/06/2022 13:47

I knew within minutes and I was right.

JennyForeigner · 08/06/2022 13:52

Yes, I've had two rounds of IVF and knew both times. Dry mouth, tired and sick but also just... sure.

sashagabadon · 08/06/2022 13:55

Yes I knew both times straight away and was right!

toucaninjapan · 08/06/2022 13:59

For me it was other way around, I was absolutely sure I can't be pregnant (I was).
Then I was "feeling" that it's a boy (it was a girl).
I guess my intuition just isn't as good as all the ladies here! Grin
Unlike my husband, who had a dream once I got pregnant. In this dream he saw his future daughter, and even saw some details like her hair color (which is extremely rare for a half-Asian baby, but DD really has it).

Strokethefurrywall · 08/06/2022 14:23

Yes with DS1 - we weren't planning and had an accident. I said to my friend about a week before my period was due, that I was pretty sure I was pregnant.
I was in the middle of P90X for 30 days and I remember coming home on day 26 and thinking "fuck this". I was utterly exhausted, bone deep tiredness that doesn't come from exercise (except a marathon).
That evening, I drank a glass of wine but thought it tasted funny. DH poured another one but I couldn't physically bring myself to drink it, it all of a sudden repulsed me. I knew for sure then that I was knocked up.
Next day was a friends wedding so decided to get a test beforehand. Sure enough before I'd even finished peeing on the stick, the word pregnant appeared.

DS2 I had no clue. Was halfway through a pint of wine and decided to test as I was going away to Niagara on a wine tasting weekend a few days later. Threw the test away before I'd read it properly, yes was pregnant. But didn't feel the same as DS1.

Yeah, I knew I was pregnant before I took a test. I had implantation cramps and spotting on the Monday, then the weirdest dreams of my life all week then nausea and insomnia started on the Thursday. Got a positive test on Friday. However, that was all after the egg implanted which happened about 6ish days after I had sex. It's impossible to have symptoms the day after having sex - most of the time you won't have even ovulated by then (the highest chance of conception is if you have sex 2-3 days before ovulating) and even if you have, you aren't pregnant until the egg implants which wont happen for at least a few more days. Your body has no idea there's a fertilised egg inside you. If you do end up being pregnant you're probably psychic 😂

DogsAndGin · 08/06/2022 20:07

Not me. But my mum swears she knew she was pregnant immediately!

chickma · 08/06/2022 20:15

Yes, with both pregnancies but the feeling was much stronger with my second. I can't really describe it, I had no symptoms or anything. The day my period was due I did a test and it was like I didn't even need to check the result, I just knew it was going to be positive.

Ragwort · 08/06/2022 20:19

No - I wasn't 'trying' to get pregnant and assumed the delayed period was due to start of the menopause - I was 42 and have never had regular periods. Finally thought I had better do a test and was 10 weeks pregnant Grin.

fossilsmorefossils · 08/06/2022 20:48

I think that I'm wired the wrong way round. I've been pregnant 6 times (multiple miscarriages) and every time I thought that I absolutely WASN'T pregnant.

newrubylane · 08/06/2022 21:08

Yes. We were trying. I was confident I was pregnant from somewhere between 2 and 7 days, when I developed incredibly sensitive breasts/nipples and extreme lower backache, neither of which were in any way normal premenstrual symptoms for me - and in any case I wasn't due on for ages (as I have a short cycle and ovulate early I was only about a week post period). I tested a day or two later and got a negative test, against my every instinct, so I decided to just wait until my period was due. About 2 days before my period was due - by which point the early symptoms had given way to more menstrual type bloating and cramps - l was doubting my initial instincts and desperately craving a glass of wine following a bad day on the office. So I gave on and tested again. It was positive. Turned out I was having twins, which in hindsight may explain the particularly heightened early symptoms(?)

Oh wow! That wait is such a roller coaster isn't it? I've started getting lower back pain in the last 24 hours and it's AGONY! Boobs are heavy, feeling sick. Really thinking my pill hasn't worked now and I'm pregnant. I hope to god its not twins though! I'm about to start work next month at a company my husband and I are buying....Great timing 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, both times!!

Aizizi · 11/06/2022 16:14

I was the same as you OP all 3 times. Woke up the morning after dtd & I could feel I was pregnant. I then had a looong wait to be able to tell the doctor/friends etc.

legalseagull · 11/06/2022 18:54

Yes but not until 9 days PO. I was correct all three times

GetThatHelmetOn · 11/06/2022 18:55

I did, I also knew it was a boy and what his name would be.

ChagSameachDoreen · 11/06/2022 19:02

I've been convinced I'm pregnant on all of the cycles when I wasn't, and actually pregnant on the cycles I thought I wasn't 😆

Thats amazing! I feel a bit less crazy now 💛

I think I've still got a few days before I can test....I'm potentially 9 days post conception. No idea when to test? But still feel a bit sicky, sore boobs, tired, lots of lower back pain 🙄

Not during my first pregnancy but later ones I had cystitis and morning sickness before my period was due. Horrible symptoms but very strong clues!

cptartapp · 11/06/2022 19:20

Yes the second time. It was our first month of trying for DC2 and is just knew. I remember reading a pregnancy book and thinking 'oh today is around implantation'. Long before any symptoms.
I was right!

bambi1132 · 11/06/2022 19:21

I knew both times and I just KNEW the sex each time too

crochetcrazy1978 · 11/06/2022 19:38

I didn't have a sense of knowing but remember going for lunch with my mum. She had a glass of wine and I thought it smelled extremely strong. That had been a symptom with my first so I did think maybe I was again. Sure enough tested positive a few days later

RewildingAmbridge · 11/06/2022 19:42

No, I thought I had developed diabetes, thirsty peeing a lot, tired, occasional light headedness. I was young very fit and a healthy weight, no idea why that's where my brain went, maybe because I didn't get morning sickness.
