Hey lovely people

I've just come off the October bus and because of my long cycles my spreadsheet says that I skip November and would be due in December.

So I thought I'd start the December bus.

Here's the start of the stats - looking forward to some friends hopping on board soon.

Try welcome and don't worry about TMI on this thread. We discuss all sorts.

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 10:30

Lia you miss me and like to stalk me. How are things with you anyway?

sparechange · 31/03/2010 11:55

I spent a quiet hour or three yesterday charting my cycle length and ov'ing dates for the last 6 months and have realised I have a really short luteal phase - around 9 or 10 days - which depending on what you read is either the absolute bottom limit of normal, or 2-3 days shorter than can sustain a pregnancy.

Feeling a bit to say the least

The next available doc appointment is a week away, so I've made that and will see what can be done. Reading up online seems to suggest that taking high doses or vitamin b6 and/or clomid can help lengthen the luteal phase, so it isn't terminal. Just a bit of an unwanted barrier.

I'm feeling a bit stupid, because I had always assumed that because my mother had 4 children, and I could always set my watch by my periods, I would hav no problems TTC. I
had never even heard of the luteal phase before we started TTC, let alone had it occured to me to chart it

trytobebrave · 31/03/2010 12:17

Thanks for adding me PinkiePoo and for the welcome Loujalou. sparechange I haven't heard of luteal phase either. Hopefully the doc will be able to help. I had suspected PCOS a couple of years ago before I was trying to conceive and found the GP took it seriously and sent me for bloods and a scan. Hopefully you will find your GP is as supportive.

Symptom spotting question: does anyone know if itchy nipples are a sign?! Mine are v. uncomfortable today.

I'm dying to take a test tomorrow as I got a bfp on cd27 when I was preg last time. I think my cycles must have been shorter then though. Will try to resist the first response when I'm out later.

Hope you are all having good days.

Prinpo · 31/03/2010 12:50

I only recently came across luteal phase and suspect that mine is a bit short too, although haven't sat down and plotted.

A question about ovulating: lots of you have mentioned that you think you haven't ovulated this month. Do you mind me asking how you know? Are you using OPKs or are you going on a lack of symptoms? Just interested to know how people are so definite about it.

Hope everyone's feeling ok today and that you're all wearing an extra cardie!

Mimi1977 · 31/03/2010 13:02

trytobebrave I certainly got tingly nipples when I was pregnant first time so you could be onto a good thing!!

PinkiePoo · 31/03/2010 14:02

prinpo i did OPKS and didn't get a at all, so unless ov'd late, i'm guessing i didn't at all this month.

I can't get into this whole charting thing...am i the only one who doesn't?

boba82 · 31/03/2010 14:43

Prinpo I'm using a CBFM and am on my 11th High day in a row but no Peaks as of yet so am assuming I have not ovulated

PinkiePoo I'm with you I don't understand what luteal phase is? Maybe that's where we're going wrong?!

Welcometrytobebrave

Sorry to everyone who got AF.

PinkiePoo · 31/03/2010 14:59

boba you and i both know, we will soon be at the charting thing soon. I give myself 2 months before i start doing it, have to understand it first!

Glad i am not the only one!!

mumatron · 31/03/2010 15:24

hello to newbies and bye to any one that af got.

cd 10 for me and showing signs of ov already??! last cycle length was 34 days so really dont know what is going on here.

oh well. best get ready to start swi from today then. although i have a trapped nerve in my back so dont know how enjoyable its going to be.

decafgirl · 31/03/2010 19:33

Hello ladies, welcome to all the newbies .

Well, am so confused today, really doubt that I've ovulated this month but never the less have started to read way too much into my achey boobs and then have just noticed what appears to be EWCM. WTF?! My body is ridiculous this month!

The clocks going forward has cocked up my charting (along with DS waking 3 times a night) i want to scream!! I know all I can do is wait and see but it's soooooo frustrating! xxxx

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 20:27

hi all,

I woke up this morning working out that when I got pregnanttime before last, (come on, keep up. ) I tested Friday before a due Weds period and got bfp on a cb digi, was convinced i could test today.

So I have been good.

Went to see fertility lady who was absolutely lovely Tuesday and she has set up loads of bloods as an off, me and dh got to go tomorrow for the expensive one that tells whether we are fighting each other or not, she thinks it will be neg but has to be ruled out.

Also testing lupus, the sticky blood thing and some others . Got appy 8th June!!!!! (bloody years away) to discuss results and see what happens next.

Am pleased something is happeneing, she did say it might just be age that is causing mc but lets now just assume which was nice. If I get upduffed before then I must ring her directly and I will get baby aspirin I bleieve.

So lou when are you testing then?

Dh is with me first thing tomorrow so won't be poss to go buy one early enough as blood test is at 9am. then good friday so no shops open, then weekend. Period is due Tuesday.

And huge congrats to cozey

smallblackflowers · 31/03/2010 20:48

Hi all and congrats to the BFPs.

I'm off to join the Jan bus as AF got me today (after a BFN on Sunday when I was due on).

Good luck everyone

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 21:02

Lia seeing as you have been pregnant more than I have had hot dinners. Well anyone who can help.

I have cramps and sticky cm and think I am 9 dpo-ish. Does that rule me out of the baby race this month?

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 21:04

Lia how are your new floors??

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 21:14

ooh, wouldn't say it ruled you out but would say that at 9dpo I would be cracking open some kind of stick. I am so crap but then we all know that.

Seriously though, I'm sorry but I have absolutely no idea, I never chart cm at all, just happened to notice some this month (and duly jumped dh bones that night). I never get any pre positive test symptoms, hinger starts bang on day period is due.

Ooh, my floors are absolutely lovely thanks for asking. Got nice freshly painted walls and woodwork too, whole house smells nice and new.

At my consultant meet yesterday, I realised I have been pregnant 10 times now up to various stages, that's a bit depressing.

this is gonna be my month,

Remind me your cycle length lou

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 21:14

hinger for those that don't know is very similar to hunger

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 21:23

About 27 days and am on 23. Oh and had my day 21 bloods today. A bit late but hopefully not too late. Sobbed when I went to the first place as the clinic wasn't open and the opening times were too small on the blood sample form thing.

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 21:25

That's a bugger. When I had mine done back in october, I was a day out and they were a bit lower than they would have liked, doc said that one day could have made the difference.

Well hopefully you won't need another

What do you think? pre menstrual? You never test until d day do you? at your restraint

Loujalou · 31/03/2010 21:42

No I don't get a chance to test as spotting usually starts on CD26 or before so no point. Did use to test to check it wasn't an implantation bleed then stopped fooling myself.

Could be pre-menstrual but period not due to Monday and its only Weds. Who knows. Am half tempted to test but only have one left.

I hope the 2 days doesn't make a difference. Got back from my hols on Monday (day 21) and yesterday was me little boys birthday and was working from my mum's so couldn't go then either. If the stupid clinic was open earlier in the morning I would have gone but it didn't open til midday on a Tuesday. Such is life. Doctor said as close to day 21 as possible.

Good news that you are being seen to. am hoping that they get to the bottom of it. Glad you like you re-decorated house. Sounds like it has been changed quite a lot.

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 21:53

ok, well I am due Tuesday so if no spotting for you, I'll test with you Monday.

Hopefully your doc is right, maybe my levels are low as the next month got pg and had mmc so maybe bit too low for me as test indicated and nothing to do with wrong day. I hope so for you.

how old was your ds?

liahgen66 · 31/03/2010 21:53

what test have you got in?

Prinpo · 01/04/2010 00:38

Pinkiepoo and Boba, I'm not trying to raise hopes unnecessarily but with our first DD I bought a pack of OPKs and religiously used them. Didn't get any positives to say I was ovulating and, wham bam, got pregnant first month of trying (thems were the days...). I think that, just as lots of women get BFNs when, in fact, they are pregnant so with OPKs they sometimes are not sensitive enough. It may be, of course, that you don't ovulate every cycle but what I'm trying to say is don't write a cycle off just because OPK indicates you haven't ovulated.

Night all.

PinkiePoo · 01/04/2010 07:21

prinpo I hear ya girl....and hope your right and that there is some major flaw in those tests. No longer doing them, well for as long as i can restrain myself...

However, getting bad cramping now. That wonderful sixth sense us ladies have, is telling me i will be getting a visit from an unwanted visitor any day now. &

Mimi1977 · 01/04/2010 07:52

It's not over till it's over girls. PinkiePoo I got terrible cramping before I got my BFP with my daughter. I went to bed with my knickers on as I was convinced it was going to start in the night, and the same all day. I even said to DH, well that's it, hasn't worked this month. Then when my AF didn't show I did a test and got my BFP!!! All done to confuse us I'm sure this damn mother nature!
