Hi!
A little about me - I'm pushing 34, have a 10 month old DD that I'm still breastfeeding and really want to conceive no.2 asap!
I am on my second cycle since AF returned and am temp / CM / CP charting using fertility friend and have OPKs!
I ovulated on day 29 of my last cycle, and am on day 21 at the moment.
Have been having fun and games with very fertile signs over the past week, so lots of BD, but no ovulation, poor DH is full of a cold and not feeling very energetic but I keep insisting that he perform until my temps go up

So anyway - hoping that there are others out there in a similar boat who can help to keep me sane and hopefully share some good news in the coming months.

sbf - sorry for AF
Hope reducing to 2 feeds goes ok with DD.

squiglet · 03/05/2010 11:09

Hi can I join? Am 34 with pcos. Have 2ds still nursing ds2 27 months usually morning, nap and bedtime but sometimes another one when needed... Periods not returned but very irregular anyway. Had clomid for ds2 and was on fertility treatment last year but not working so waiting till ds2 weans. We don't want to wean him as want him to stop when he ready. Still bding regulary. had some light pink discharge and no idea what's going on there.

missjackson · 03/05/2010 13:57

Hi there. I joined this thread four weeks ago after an early mc - am still bf-ing 15 mo DS and had only 2 periods before getting pg again. So I am thinking I am probably in the 'ovulating with luteal phase defects' stage of return to fertility...

Have caught up a bit... sbf sorry to hear that AF arrived. lilysma your consultant sounds really good but difficult to hear about his advice to wean... like you, I worry that it's too high a price to pay for my DS. But then I also worry about an ever-widening age gap....

Hi squiglet - 27 months, wow! We are still cosleeping and DS feeds at least once or twice in the night, but not for very long, more of a comfort suckle I think...

Still haven't had an af since mc (over a month ago), but I think it usually takes a bit longer as first day of new cycle doesn't start until the mc is finished? We did try once last week when I thought I might be ovulating, but OH was away the rest of the week, so I am sure there is no chance. But irritatingly still can't stop hoping... I am sure you all know the feeling! Anyway, it will be easier to go for it next month after a period I suppose...

Hope you are all enjoying a nice long weekend.

Lpsmum · 03/05/2010 18:38

Hi
I'm still keeping up to date with you all even though I am no longer bf'ing. sbf feel gutted for you - so disappointing and sorry to read your latest news lilysma, why aren't these things ever straight forward.
Hope all is well with bird and fingers crossed for dita and hello and good luck to everyone else!
We're swi'ing this week - it'll be my first full cycle as a non-bfer so who knows

smallblackflowers · 03/05/2010 20:53

Thank you ladies for your kind words, although I feel like a bit of a fraud, as it was all so brief!
I'm a born optimist, so CD1 today and the chance to make a lovely baby for my 35th Birthday in Feb. Have been successful in only feeding twice today, with the added bonus of DD asking for her afternoon nap in her cot

Welcome squiglet, and nice to see you back missjackson and lpsmum Lpsmum you must keep hanging around the thread, and keep us up to date with your news - I may well be taking the stopping BF step at some point if nothing happens in the next few months and it will be really interesting to see how you get on, for both scientific and lovely pregnancy news reasons! Fingers crossed for your SWI being productive!

Oh sbf I'm late to this thread but so sorry to hear your news

Welcome squiglet and to everyone else.

No news from me. No symptoms but still having to resist the urge to test - only 8 days past my +ive OPK (so what, 5DPO?) so would be stupid even if I had reason to be feeling optimistic this month! DD's feeding seems to have settled down a little, thank god, but she's bitten me twice in the night in the last week so seriously considering night weaning in the next few weeks. I have a feeling it's going to be horrific!

Oh and good luck lpsmum

FannyLogan · 04/05/2010 21:01

Just checking in....

sbf so sorry

Waiting for any ov signs, but not hopeful of any success if LP is so short.

Hey ho - will wait and see......

missjackson · 04/05/2010 21:46

Ouch dita - I live in fear of DS biting me. He went thru a little stage of it a month or so ago, but now seems to have stopped So you are in same boat as me, I am 8 days past my one-off positive opk too, so too early to test, and plus I wasn't testing before anyway, so it wasn't accurate - and we only got to swi once... so very little chance, but can't help hoping... am going to wait till next Monday at least. How about you?

sbf good to hear your positivity; what a nice birthday present that would be - and I live for the day that DS actually asks for a nap (not that he can talk yet!). Today he only had 25 mins instead of his usual 2-2.5 hrs, because something woke him up (he was outside in his buggy), and I was sure he would go to sleep early, but still managed to hang on until 9pm, the little ratbag. Unbelievable stamina.

Hi fanny.

Enjoy this week lpsmum!

DitaVonCheese · 04/05/2010 23:36

Ooh, nice to have a cycle buddy! Was planning to test on the 10th, following a version of the Deanna plan, but I may crumble and go for the 8th instead ...

missjackson · 05/05/2010 11:16

I only have tesco cheapy test, so am going to wait until 14 days, which would be Monday 10th I believe... Will you have to use an early test for the 8th?

No symptoms here either but no signs of af either - but really not very hopeful. Has only been 4.5 weeks since my mc started so af would probably be late anyway.

Fingers crossed!

DitaVonCheese · 05/05/2010 12:21

Yeah, I bought a load of ebay cheapies a while back, but the danger is that because I have so many and don't mind wasting them, I test far too often It's like when you buy 200 fags duty free thinking they'll last ages, then smoke the lot in two days

Everything crossed but my legs

missjackson · 06/05/2010 03:59

AF here - am thinking that was quick if I did ovulate either 9 or 10 days ago - but ties in with luteal phase defect stage I suppose.

Now we can't decide whether to stop ttc until after the summer - I am going back to work part-time over the next 3 months to a very intense job, travelling up and down to London, so really don't want to be battling early pg tiredness let alone another mc... but tbh at my age can't see me delaying it on purpose, ifkwim...

Have fingers AND legs crossed for you Dita!

How is everyone else? Any updates?

DitaVonCheese · 06/05/2010 09:25

Oh so sorry she got you

squiglet · 06/05/2010 10:53

No period here as yet, so don't understand the pink cm. Posted a thread about it but noone answred on it. Am trying had not so symptom spot. Had pink on Friday and Sunday. Did test on Monday, tesco one, -ve . Back down to 3ish feeds a day as ds2 much better now. Trying hard to be patient and let nature take it's course but not easy when I know we have fertility issues. Got a good book mothering nursing toddler which helps when I find myself getting frustrated. I think if I stopped feeding before ds2 ready it would be hard for him and I think I'd miss it and if at the end of it still didn't fall preg I'd regret it. I quite like the idea of tandem feeding for early days but who knows eh? Just glad I found somewhere that I'm not slated for the choices we've made.

X

missjackson · 06/05/2010 13:58

squiglet I read that pink cm is really good sign of implantation? So would be a little too early to show up on test I think. But if you haven't had any periods at all yet, I am not sure - I know you don't have to have one before you ovulate, but I think it's pretty usual.

My periods came back when I went back to work for a bit, and was out of the house for 8-10 hours at a time - I was still expressing though - if your DS takes a bottle, maybe you could think about that as an option to try to jump-start the return to fertility.

I too am not prepared to wean DS before he wants to - lots of people said that many babies wean of their own accord when your milk dries up around 4-5 months pregnant - or otherwise tandem feeding sounds lovely - so it's just a question of getting to that stage!

Just woke up from lovely nap snuggled in bed with him nursing - precious times .

missjackson · 06/05/2010 14:01

Thanks dita, am not feeling too bad about it as it was straight after my mc, so it's sort of nice to have a regular period and know my body is getting back to normal - but have been reading about luteal phase defect now (too much googling! [confusion]) and feeling like there is no point rushing this... so am really going to try to relax about the whole thing.

Hoping you have better luck!

smallblackflowers · 06/05/2010 14:26

missjackson so sorry that this isn't your month

squiglet I had pink CM about a month before my 1st AF, and suspected it was just my body gearing up for it the following month.

I'm off to the gp in a minute to see if they will look at my pre and post ov hormone levels, as the progesterone cream def made a difference. Am hoping that if they spot a problem they will be able to medicate in a more controlled manner then I am currently doing!!
Would also love to tandem feed......[wistful emoticon]

forgot to say - everything crossed for you dita (even legs as it's 2 weeks till SWI starts)

DitaVonCheese · 06/05/2010 20:10

Thanks ladies - I'm enjoying the mental image of you all with your knees primly pressed together.

I think I'm going to cave and test tomorrow - I have a horrible feeling I'm going to wake up in a Tory Britain, and a BFP will take my mind off it while a BFN would mean I can at least drown my sorrows ...

smallblackflowers · 06/05/2010 20:54

Hi all, an update from my trip to the GP today..
GP was very impressed by my knowledge of when I ovulate, the use of phrases such as 'luteal phase' etc. He has decided to send me for blood tests 7DPO and also wants to check the quality of DP's little swimmers (they always investigate the man at the same same time apparently). Luckily DH can provide the sample in the comfort of home.
He didn't ask if I was BF (I had DD with me) and I didn't offer that info, as don't want to assume that current state is definitely a result of BF.

Good luck dita

DitaVonCheese · 06/05/2010 23:10

Hi sbf Glad to hear that the GP took you seriously and hope you get some answers soon.

Lpsmum · 07/05/2010 12:48

Spotted something interesting this week - so af returned in Jan, I stopped bfing in April and yesterday and today I've had some light spotting. I'm lead to believe that this happening around ovulation is a very positive fertility sign, so this month is looking the most promising so far

missjackson · 07/05/2010 13:00

Sounds good lpsmum.

sbf great that your gp took you seriously and will be interesting to see what the blood test results are like. How funny that he didn't even ask about bf-ing.

dita fingers crossed for your test today!

DitaVonCheese · 07/05/2010 20:16

Ooh good luck lpsmum!

BFN for me this morning, so clearly I'm clinging to the idea that it was just too early to test - in other words, inconclusive, just like the election result!

smallblackflowers · 08/05/2010 14:56

dita about your BFN, fingers crossed it was just too early
