Oh 4ever you poor thing, so glad you have a wonderful dh there with you. Good that you are signed off for 2 weeks now, get lots of rest and get that confidence built up again, I think your scan and ante natal appt. will help you there too. You are so brave and you WILL get there, only 19 weeks to go [smille]

mrcupcake who the heck is milkyway

barbie go and get measured for nursing bras after 36 weeks, that's what I did anyway.

Hi lion how are you doing?

Had my post natal swim this morning, it was soooo good, then when it was Ajays turn to come in the pool, he was so chilled out, sucking his thumb, I thought at one point he was going to fall asleep. All the other babies were splashing about or crying, and there was Ajay lying in my arms watching it all .

VJay · 18/01/2010 13:00

Oh forgot to say, we had a little accident this morning, ds1 was pushing the buggy down a hill then slipped , he ended up on the floor hurting his knees and the buggy was on its back with Ajay nearly upside-down, he was ok though, he was just looking around, bless him , it wasn't funny at the time but funny afterwards looking at Ajays interested face

barbie1 · 18/01/2010 14:12

I wrote a post and for some reason it ended up as a new thread !

Anyway, to summerise what i had said in the last one...

4ever this lo is really taking you on a journey i too had tears in my eyes reading the events, your dh sounds so lovely, bless him! It will just make you appreciate so much more this lo even when at 4 years old she has drawn all over your lovely walls in lipstick you will be able to remember this time and the struggles you had...

lion nice to see you again

mermaidspurse · 18/01/2010 14:21

well I have read a lot of words like normal, happens often, fairly common. It is always nice to grab onto these kind of words. You are doing really well so just stay wrapped up in that wooly suit.x

I guess they have checked for a low lying placenta like barbie and her naughty naughty dh

vjay at your layed back, in more ways than one ajay hope ds1 didn't hurt his knees too badly. Definately deserves a lollipop cos you can't cry and suck at the same time.x

lion give that gorgeous boy a big kiss.xx

mermaidspurse · 18/01/2010 14:24

yes or pinched all your best bits of makeup age 14.

cupcakefairy · 18/01/2010 15:29

Awww our lovely weeble I too got quite emotional reading your story, especially the bit about dh taking your hand and both crying bless you. I can't imagine the different feelings of stress and relief then terror you went through! What a day...and not getting to go to the party either I'm just so glad that's over for you and sending you a lorry full of cotton wool!

vjay that image of ajay in the pool is just ! gorgeous!

LBM thanks for the tips, will definitely look at Tesco and Argos for exercise balls writing down all your tips re infacol and napisan too! I just have no clue about these things.

Hi lion lovely to see you.

My parents were over yesterday and ended up telling us in detail about all 4 of their birth experiences! V interesting! The upshot is they were all fairly quick labours so I'm hopeful! My little sister was born in France and my Dad wasn't allowed to go to labour ward with my Mum til he'd filled in a forestful of forms even though she was practically crowning! Haha...gotta love the french.

Right, a chocolate brownie and cup of tea are calling my name...

bluesatinsash · 18/01/2010 16:18

Hey

Not been able to post for ages, just too busy - you'd think I'd just had a baby .

4ever - so sorry I wasn't on here to give you supporite post or text but so so glad and relieved everything OK. The hospital staff sounded lovely and knew how anxious you are. Cervical erosion is very common but the sight of blood for anyoe who has had a mc just freaks you out, takes you back to the darkest place ever and can't help but have us feel worst case scenario. Your DD is absolutely fine, snuggled up and bewng nicely for a June delivery . Glad you've been signed off again, back to baby steps for your well being and sanity xxxx

barbie - your nursery is gorgeous - well done you, DH and freddie! Agree with getting newborn sized things as 0-3 are too big and baggy and I hate seeing tiny babies swamped by their clothes I have @ 10 newborn babygrows on the go - you will need them for random peeing on/sick down changes. I can't get mine washed fast enough! I wash everything once before wearing for first time - fairy non-bio + comfort pure.

Vjay - that must have been scary your poor DS1 falling anf Ajay tipping backwards. Hope you're all OK and now chuckle at it. Can't believe you're about to delve back into studying brainy girl!

Mermaid - I heart ice skating - hopw youe bum's OK today .

Cupcake - your family sound lovely and LOL at your Dh's milkway comment!

Neeko - had a big fat thinking of new series of Grey's when yes I'll be feeding Benjamin and you'll be balancing a cup of tea on your bump just as we affirmed would happen last Spring. Did you persevere with second series of Private Practice? What was it like?

LBM - I haven't heard of being delivered early if you're over a certain age ? hopefully your DD2 will just show up au natural at 37 weeks

MLS - implantaion ? At had it at that stage with DS1...

Iggy - 13 weeks - well done you for staying this side of sane

We're all well here. BabyBen was weighed on Friday and is a healthy 9lb 9oz so has put on 1lb and 3 oz since birth . I'm dog tired with the night feeds but it won't be forever and he is getting more alert during the day and I swear I got a little sneaky smile off him today! Just had two of my closet friends over for visit and really lovely to have adult girlie chats and reassured my brain still works!

Right my small window of me time has finished so back to my darling DS2!

Love to all and apologies of lack of more personals xx

BuddhaBelly · 18/01/2010 19:48

4ever When will this rollercoaster ride slow down for you (as we all know it never stops!) or at least give you a little break, it's like reading a book that I just want to skip to the end for the happy ending. Hope you are starting to relax a little (although that won't happen until you are holding your lo in your arms)
Blue I'm with you on the tiredness, but those little smiles make it all worth it.
Iggy 13 weeks already
MLS I would like to whisper implantation bleed, but don't want to get your hopes up just in case x
Vjay Your poor ds1 falling over, bet you had a panic when you saw it happen, glad they are both ok
Barbie Love the nursery pictures, agree with the others on buying some newborn stuff, E looked awful in his 0-3mths and is only just starting to wear some now at 7.5wks. We had him weighed last week he's now 9lb 10oz so has put on 2lb 3oz since birth.
cupcake Really hope you follow the family trend with a quick labour
mermaid How are you feeling in yourself missus? You keep giving out all this advice and support, just want to check your OK?

Big waves to everyone else, got to go feed AGAIN! Although things are a little easier as GP confirmed E has reflux problems so now on infant gaviscon, definately less sick/pain and acid, so poor little man is getting a little more sleep and my washing machine is getting a rest

Neeko · 18/01/2010 20:51

Hello all.

4ever Another one who cried at your huge post here. I'm so sorry that you've been through all this and I'm glad you're back in the cotton wool. As I said by text a similar thing happened to me with DD and I was unbelievably freaked out, and that was without having been through what you have. I have to confess that as I was texting you on Sat night I was saying to my DH "if only she was 3 or 4 weeks further on." I really hope the next month flies for you. Take heart from the huge list of posting names over the past couple of days - you must have the most loved unborn child in Britain! Ypu'll definitely need that hair appointment soon too as Saturday must have added a few greys.

MLS I really, really, really hope that it's an implantation bleed with some very sticky twins. Now obsess away on here and we'll all hold your hand through the 2ww.

Bluethetiredone Can't believe you don't have time to get on here I hope you get lots more smiley rewards soon. I did persevere with Private Practice and it had the best ending ever. Can't wait for the new series of that too. Think I might fill a lot of my maternity leave with sky plus! P.S. Loved the tired typo about the closet friends!

Buddah another tired lady. Lovely to hear from you. Hope you're managing to find a lot of time for simple adoration.

Vjay at the pram episode. Bet you got such a fright. Glad all ok. Loved the swimming story - sounds great.

Mermaid Hi lovely. Loved the idea of denser bones! I've definitely invested in them since my twenties. Have you got back in touch with your golfer yet?

Barbie well done on the nursery. It looks great. Have you managed to stalk find out any news on GG?

Iggy I keep forgetting to congratulate you on a lovely scan pic - sorry! How's the chicken suit? Glad the cold is lifting.

Cupcake Loved the milkyway story but was a little at your DH's threat to join the thread. Tell him we'll just talk about icky women things to put him off. Or you could distract him by sending him for that birthing ball!

LBM How's the maternity clothes? I hope it's good comfy stuff

Lion lovely to know that you still lurk. Hope all is well with you.

I had my physio appt today and she was lovely. I'm now the proud owner of some lovely tubi grip and very attractive hand splints. I really hope they help.

I'm going to visit my friend's prem baby on Thursday. He's come so far and I can't wait to meet him.

Love to everyone else.

cupcakefairy · 18/01/2010 21:12

Hi blue and buddha lovely yummy mummies. So glad to hear E is a bit better and both are putting on weight healthily well done!

Lol neeko don't worry he won't be joining! He was trying to prove he could fake being one of us but we'd spot a man a mile off so glad your friend's baby is doing so well and really glad physio went well too. I got through a full day at work hobbling round like an old lady - haha, I look ridiculous but needs must!

lovely jools and moon I hope you're not having meltdowns privately - thinking of you both.

Lionstar · 18/01/2010 21:19

Aw shucks you guys thanks for the greetings and I'm sorry I don't post more on this thread, but honestly it'd just be boring baby stuff as I'm suffering from total mummy-brain at the moment. I can barely string more than two coherent thoughts together, let alone keep up with all your chat!!!

I've had a sneaky peek at some of your lovely profile pictures and all those bubs are just heart-breaking beautiful. Can't wait to see some more. I've added a few more recent ones to mine so you can see just how big the monster-boy is getting. He was weighed at 14 weeks at 15lbs 8oz!

Barbie your nursery is GORGEOUS, and rather puts my disorganised corner of our room to shame. Poor DS doesn't even get his own room as DD already has the small room. I can't believe you are almost about to join us saggy-panters, the time just seems to have flown by. I have everything crossed for you for a smooth and speedy labour. Congrats on the house move too. As for baby clothes, the girls are right, best get a few newborn things in, but they really won't last 5 minutes, as soon as their limbs uncurl you'll be reaching for the 0-3s. I think DS was in his for 1 week!!!

gracie and curly wishing you all the very best too for you impending confinements - I love that word, so old fashioned .

blue, Buddha and annie so good to hear you are both doing well with your little men. Hope MM is enjoying her new year with her precious bundle too. Glad to hear little Ewan's reflux is improving, it's just heartbreaking when they are in that kind of pain and you feel so helpless.

VJay how terrifying for poor AJay, he sounds chilled though . I live in irrational fear of pushchair related injuries - particularly that I might let go and it runs away from me, or when trying to cross the road and you have to push the baby out into the road first - that gives me nightmares.

How have you all been coping with the snow? (apart from Barbie of course - lucky girl). We got total cabin fever when it was at it's worst, becuase it was fun for 5 minutes and a quick snowman, then just a drag. Plus DP couldn't make it into work, so worked from home, so not only was I cooped up with the kiddies, we had to try and be quiet too . I was so glad that conditions improved by last Thursday and we could go out as normal. However I have heard rumours that there is more snow to come - that is so depressing! I have been enjoying the kids mostly though, it is so lovely that they are now starting to interact. DS LOVES anything that bounces so his sister just jumps up and down manically infront of him, and he is just off in gales of laughter - fair warms your cockles. Needless to say he loves his door bouncer too. He is turning out to be a better sleeper than his sister and goes down at 7am without much of a fight. He has a dreamfeed when we go to bed about 11ish and then back in his cot. He will wake probably twice more for feeds, and usually ends up staying in our bed because he hates going back down on cold sheets (and it gets very parky at night) - I've been wondering how I can keep a hot waterbottle warm enough all night so I can try warming his cot back up!!

Anyway didn't mean to drone on for so long. Sending you all my love. I'm never far away, I lurk around to keep track of all your news

Neeko · 18/01/2010 21:24

Hi Cupcake Sorry to hear about the hobbling. Hope the pain eases up soon.

Lion have you tried a baby sleeping bag and using a fleece blanket instead of a cot sheet? It worked for us with DD.

littlebellsmum · 18/01/2010 21:25

4ever What a nightmare - hope you are snuggled in your nice clean duvet as you read this!

neeko I'm not in mat clothes but can't believe how many my friend had - certainly won't need to be buying any!

Blue I've started another thread to ask other older mothers about the idea of induction at 38 weeks and the other"older" mums on there think the advice is a bit old and I should get a second opinion. But as you say, it may never come to it as this one may arrive nice and early. Although if she is as chilled as she was for the scans , there is a chance she'll never come out!!

Got to go - hi to everyone else. Has anyone heard from graciegirl she's gone awfully quiet?

littlebellsmum · 18/01/2010 21:29

lion I also tried and failed using the hot water bottle to keep the moses basket warm with DS when he was born in Feb. Not sure of the solution but thought I could at least empathize!

cupcake Napisan rocks and you also need a nappy bucket ( to put the slightly marked clothes in with nappisan untill you put them in the washer and as if by magic the stains come out!)!

MummyLovesSadie · 18/01/2010 22:16

Hello Lion I didn't realise but you just live down the road from me, I'm in a village near Woking. Love love LOVE the pics of your ds - be still my beating womb.

LBM I've never heard of an induction for older Mums & I don't like that idea. I'd rather have the natural build up of the pain rather than the immediate 'WHAM' of intense contractions that being induced tends to bring.

Blue did you really have an implantation bleed at 2dpo? I barely dare to hope...

4ever forgot to tell you I took your advice & got my hair dyed on Saturday!

Neeko to answer your comment the other day - yes I am still very accepting of what will be will be, however if there is anything I can do to boost my fertility or make my womb more baby friendly then I'll be doing it - even if I had to stand naked in the town centre, jumping on one leg & whistling the national anthem! Are your hand splints that lovely shade of prosthetic limb beige??! Is your friends baby home now or still in the hospital? How is she coping with the double edged sword of losing a baby but still having 1 precious bundle to love & care for?

Vjay Yikes at your pram story. Were they going downhill? That is one of my nightmares (along with about 85 other dd-related things), tripping & letting go of buggy & it rolling away at high speed.

Jools are you around? How are you doing?

Moon you too what are you up to?

Cupcake also a bit at the thought of a man joining the thread even if it is your lovely dh! Neeko is that man still on your antenatal thread? That is plain wrong & used to freak me out!

Iggy you getting a bump yet?

Mermaid any news on the 'roids?

Not much news except for I've had my 2nd acupuncture session tonight. All went well except she's told me I've got to stop drinking Diet Coke as it's not doing my already deficient kidneys any good. I don't drink tea or coffee so all I can drink is water. She said I could drink nettle tea, fennel tea, rosehip tea, hibiscus tea, comfrey tea & chicory. All I can say about that is big fat blleeeeuuuuurrrrggghhhhhh!

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 09:37

blue and Buddha thanks - although is now 14 weeks today

Neeko thank you! Chicken suit is lovely thanks - and am little more out of the sand than before... I hope your hand supports help?

MLS I wouldn't say bump as such... more a general look of having over induldged over Christmas and not lost it yet - if you see what I mean! Does depend on what I wear - some clothes seem to accentuate the 'eaten all the pies' look... Glad your acupuncture still going well - but shame about he 'no coke' rule..

lion lovely to 'see' you! That sounds so lovely about your DD and DS interacting!

mermaid how are you?

jools and moon also been wondering how you both are?

cupcake fingers crossed you get a quick labour too then!

vjay sounds bit scary with the pram - but at least they all ok! Sounds like AJay is a water baby then

4ever hope you ok today weeble?

no more news from me... just that today is 14 weeks - which seems exciting.. and that I have finally had to admit to myself that I need to buy more bra's! Anyone recommend any for the larger chested girls!

Lionstar · 19/01/2010 10:34

MLS sounds like you're not too far away then. I used to work in Woking (Goldsworth Road) but that was quite some time ago in post uni days. The town centre was pretty drab back then, has it improved? I have to admit we head to Guildford for retail therapy! Still have friends in Byfleet, Chobham and West End though so we are around those places occasionally. Thanks for admiring DS, he is particularly scrummy. I'm sure it won't be too long before you have a chubbly baby of your own to smooch, you deserve it.

Neeko we do use a gro-bag, but it's a good idea to try a fleece blanket for the cot - I'm sure that would make it a bit more snuggly

littlebellsmum thanks for the sympathy on dealing with chilly cots. One of my antenatal friends swears by using a sheepskin in the cot, but I can't try one out because DS sleeps on his front - he screams bloody murder if we put him down on his back.

iggy WOW 14 weeks already! It probably feel likes time is dragging for you (I remember it well), but from my perspective you ladies are flying along. I have heard good things about Hot Milk and Bravissimo bras, though I don't have any myself (good old M&S), definately worth getting something that fits though as your ribcage expands significantly.

4ever just wanted to send you some more hugs and hope you are feeling a bit brighter today. Remember the important thing about the weebles is that they always bounce back.

4everhopeful · 19/01/2010 14:55

Wow 14weeks Iggy .....Lion so lovely to hear from u & so honoured to have broken ur de lurking status as Neeko said & i said yest, im so honoured & touched by all ur comments & support & kind words, i was in tears on more than one occasion yesterday, u ladies are so very special.... I promise will be back to my posting best to each & every one of u deserving lovelies asap... X x x x x

4everhopeful · 19/01/2010 15:14

Actually can anyone help with my dilemma? Im sending myself mad.. I just dont know whether to go to my auntys funeral tomorrow? Its really early, 10am, would involve at least an hour and a half drive through rush hour so up at 6ish.. Worried about standing around/stress when just wanna be wrapped in cotton wool after sat, however want to pay respects & see some family not seen for years? So hard cos baby is priority, dont want to regret not going but dont want to regret going either? Im still in bed now, big achievement yest cos i emptied dishwasher & had a bath! Compared to sun that was alot cos was too scared to do anything even stand up for more than 5mins or blow nose! Just dont kno what to do?!? Help! X x x x x

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 15:16

4ever I think that only you can decide if the stress of going will be too much... but if you are really worried then I wouldn't go... To be honest - your family will understand won't they?

Lionstar · 19/01/2010 15:42

If you think your family would be understanding then I'd be tempted not to go. Funerals are stressful situations in themselves, then add to that your heightened sensitivity at the moment. That's not even taking into account the early start/long drive/standing.

What do you think your aunt would have advised? Maybe just take some time on the day to remember your aunt, and maybe once baby arrives you can take her to your aunts resting place to say hello.

4everhopeful · 19/01/2010 18:22

Thanks Iggy, Lion & Mermaid for the wise words! After spending the day sendin myself mad Iv made the decision not to go & feel much better for it.. If anything we could poss drive to the house in the afternoon to pick up my mum & sis & pop my head in the door to give respects, but i shall see how i feel/what my results are/what traffic is like/if its snowing/how my sis says its going etc... Baby is priority & my aunty would def understand..

iggypiggy · 19/01/2010 18:52

Good decision 4ever I think it would have been too much worry for you.
