OK I have just worked out that if my next cycle is the same length as this one was then I will actually be due 1st October if I get pg so rather than sitting at the back of the September bus I thought I might skip straight ahead to the next one lol.

Plenty of chocolate and biscuits ready for the journey

I asked dh to pick up a test from the supermarket this eve. Forgot it shuts early on a Sunday. So made it through the weekend without buying a test. Wonder if I'll make it to next weekend?

I've never had a cycle longer than 53 days (other than when breastfeeding). If I'm yet to ovulate then I've got 4 days to do it before I break my record. Cervix has since disappeared since yesterday, but not much cm to speak of so can't really see it happening.

Also, still have back ache. And phantom boob pain. Anyone else get that feeling where it's as though your boobs are throbbing but when you actually touch them they're completely fine?

sparechange · 08/02/2010 10:21

bah, Monday.
Where did the weekend go?
My friend came over with her 9 month old and I'm brooding like crazy!

Sunday will be 10dpo, so I think I can get away with an early test and it might make a nice valentine present

I've been symptom spotting like crazy as well. My boobs (and nipples) are really sore, and I swear they are bigger, although that could just be that I've put on weight

stuffedmk · 08/02/2010 11:06

Taps fingers impatiently.....
Well I suppose at least I know roughly when to expect AF rather than the usual waiting. Just don't want to have to wait another week!
Don't think it is likely to happen this month but can't help thinking that valentines would make a nice day for a BFP lol.....I found out I was pg with DS on my 1st wedding anniversary and it made a romantic day even better so keeping fingers crossed
Of course if AF does turn up as expected I can always make myself feel better with lots of pancakes on the 16th

I know its not over til the fat lady sings but have some very slightly pink tinged cm that I wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't obsessed looking for any signs.

Am going to the doctors today to see what they can do. With regards to tests and all. It won't be hard to produce a few tears today. Can't believe I am on cycle 11 soon....

Also got upset by a friend who is obviously pregnant and won't tell anyone. She sent me a mail to say that she should have the all clear for some good news today and she hopes I have some good news soon. I know she was trying to be sweet but find it a bit insensitive. She knows how hard I am finding it and even told me to "Relax"

Nymphadora · 08/02/2010 11:11

sparechange I get sooooo broody around my friends two. She has a 1yo and a 2 month old,and I get broody with both. Is it weird that I try to make excuses to go and see her so I can get a cuddle

sparechange · 08/02/2010 11:22

Ha, great minds re valentines testing, stuffed nymph it was so lovely to have a little cuddle and snuggle. I'm sure I caught DH giving me the look while I was cuddling her. We are definitely ready for our go now!

Nanny01 · 08/02/2010 11:51

Hi All
Feeling really confused as I think I ovulated later this month so does that mean af will be late. We only bd twice around the important time so not holding out much hope. Oh well will just have to bd for fun now,

Lorelai · 08/02/2010 11:58

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been around for acwhile, kind of put TTC to the back of my mind while AF was visiting. Got EWCM today though, so am back in full on obsessed mode!

Am wondering though if I should maybe have joined the nov bus instead, as it looks like I may be sitting at the back of this one on my own for a week

MountainFairy · 08/02/2010 12:12

I'll join you Lorelai. As a matter of fact, I'll join everyone as this is my firts post here. Have been lurking sround though . Still need to get the hang of the slang. It's so difficult! So forgive me if I don't quite understand what people are saying!

Anyway, like Nanny01 I also do not know if late ovulation means AF will be late. So not sure when to test. But to avoid too much confustion I thought I'd test late as well, 14 days after ov, proveded af does not show up beforehand.

stuffedmk · 08/02/2010 12:31

I believe the time after ovulation tends to stay the same from cycle to cycle but the time before can vary (quite a lot for some)
Therefore if you ovulate later than normal you will be due on later than normal.

If you have irregular cycles and are able to identify when ovulation occured then it does at least tell you roughly when to expect AF (or a BFP )

Nanny01 · 08/02/2010 12:32

MountainFairy hi this will be my second cycle but would like to have a bfp or else will have to miss 2 months. Dh and agreed to that with christmas and 3 b-days over those months already. Did you use any opk's this is my first month using the clear blue monitor. I am now worried if I get BFp what due date I would get.

MountainFairy · 08/02/2010 12:57

Hi all,

Well, I am using the sticks. Usually I am regular ov on day 14, and this time it was on CD 18. I have a feeling what stuffedmk says about the time after ovulation is true, but let's see what the case may be for Nanny01 and me.

Nanny01 good luck. I gave up trying to time it as we have been at it for like a year, though not whole heartedly until now. We also stopped for a while for timing reasons... But I have a friend who times it each time and is always first time succesfull...

lucybarnes no idea about CBM as I am using the sticks. As I know my body quite well (CM and all that lovely stuff) I do not tend to use too many of them so it does not work out quite so expensive. I usually use 2 - 3 sticks a month (and sometimes I try and not obsess so I do not use any).

Nanny01 · 08/02/2010 12:59

Hi lucybarnes I bourght mine of amazon you can use it up to day 5 I think. Thats what In did. It dosn't come with any test stickes though, but agin they were cheaper at amazon than my local chemist. On amazon I think it has around £60 but local chemist was nearer to £90 so I ordered of amazon. Clear blue do aovulation kit with 7 tests. What I do like about the monitor is that you can see the rise in hormones before the peak, not that it helped me this month as dh was over worked and tiered so not much bding going on but who knows.
lucybarnes I have decided that this month I will test after the 14 th of this month as that was a 26 day cycle and if I can waite 2 more days till 28 days. I have tests but don't want to wast them. I would be thrilled if I got a bfp.

CD37...managed not to buy a test while at the shops today. Thought I'd started spotting while out, but no. Beginning to get my hopes up now which is a bit silly. I need to wait till Wednesday - or preferably the weekend.

MountainFairy · 08/02/2010 15:56

Hi digitalgirl and thank you. Ok, so let's decipher this stats code. Oh, btw, like I said, I have been trying on and off for a year, but only joined MN recently, so maybe for these stats I will call it Cycle 1?

Hello to the other newcomers, glad to have some more people to join me at the back

I have got another week before I can test, with my last pregnancy I was able to test 4 days before and it was positive, so I am going to try at the weekend.

Massive congratulations to bunny and frenchlimeblossom

Got some spotting this afternoon. So may be hopping off the bus soon. Had 4 days of spotting last time before my period started properly, so again will wait up till Saturday if it doesn't arrive in full flow before.

They definitely need a wine emoticon. However will do.

MountainFairy · 08/02/2010 20:53

Me too digitalgirl .

BUnderTheBonnet · 08/02/2010 22:12

The thread disappeared off my "I'm on" list!!! I've been quiet for too long.

Hello new people!

No symptoms here. Feeling not at all pregnant. I did get an LH surge, so I suppose I ovulated, but barely any CM, so I'm not terribly hopeful.

I started temping too late this month for it to be of any use. I started just about when I got my OPK positive, and my temp did go up for three days, but it's gone right down again now. TBH I don't think I've got the self-discipline for temping Anyone else found this?

Spacefrog · 08/02/2010 22:43

BUnderTheBonnet mee too! You're supposed to test everyday at the same time after at least 3 hours sleep, which I find impossible. I've got a 1 year old, and she makes the 3 hours continuous sleep almost as hard to get as the consistent waking time.

When I was TTC#1 I found temping very reassuring, but now it's more confusing than anything. No idea when I ovulated this month and this morning DD almost stabbed me in the eye when playing with my thermometer (I know, she shouldn't ). Not worth the risk IMO!

If someone can invent a thermometer that measure BBT in one's sleep, there's a market for it (me).

Lorelai · 09/02/2010 10:09

Cano just check, if I am still getting EWCM, does that mean I haven't ovulated yet? DH has been ill and I am hoping we haven't missed the 'window of opportunity for this month'.

Spacefrog · 09/02/2010 12:34

What a morning! I'm on CD33 with UCL 32, woke up and temp was still high so went to POAS (Sainsbury's own brand) and got a BFP within 3 minutes. I didn't make it out, it was there and DH saw it too. After a few minutes or so the line disappeared but it's said on the box not to read the test after 15 minutes.

I got really happy and decided to splash on a CBD to get confirmation... and got a "not pregnant".

WTF is going on???

digitalgirl · 09/02/2010 13:26

I hope it's a bfp spacefrog sounds to me as though the CBD isn't as sensitive perhaps because you weren't using first wee. Bet tomorrow it will be positive.

I'm jumping off this bus. . Am actually really really upset about it this month. Despite knowing full well that my chances were very low. I am at work and I just want to go back to sleep and have a selfish little cry.

sparechange · 09/02/2010 13:47

spacefrog fingers crossed for you
Maybe test again tomorrow morning?

Sorry to hear you are down digital
It will be your time soon
