Hi all, quick question - Ive just got my first positive result on an opk - got a couple of wishy-washy lines last month so wasnt really sure and went on cm and temping. Have I read it right that ov will now be in the next 24-36 hrs? Also, Ive noticed a tiny bit of spotting too - whats that about? Never had that before mid-cycle...Off now to try and stop myself ringing dh to make him come home right now

Shirazz · 27/11/2009 11:50

Polly - I wasn't prescribed by the doctor however I have medical people in the fam I think the pills have to be precribed but I just use the cream I bought online and you have to have a natural one. It helps with everything when ttc really - here's a bit of info - the vitex they are taking about is the Agnus Castus
www.stages-in-pregnancy.com/progesterone-and-fertility.html

and here natural-fertility-info.com/progesterone-fertility-guide but please check with your doctor as I don't want you to do something that is wrong for you as it's a bit case by case I think!

Shirazz · 27/11/2009 12:41

oh and here's an old MN thread about it too

here

PollyPoo · 27/11/2009 12:41

Thanks Shirazz, will check out those links. I've just spoken to the receptionist my GPs. She said my blood results in June showed progesterone was 23 (that was on Day 20 of a 25 day cycle - was annoyingly short that month), but I don't know if that is high or low. Anyone know what that means?! Thanks

Shirazz · 27/11/2009 13:16

Polly i've never had mine tested, so not sure but i'm sure you'll find some information if you google it

SparklyAlice · 27/11/2009 18:05

I have gone from being certain i am not pg, to thinking i might be

I have got spots i don't ever get spots, like proper pimples and i felt quite faint today whilst doing the horses (probably because i have been a bit lax taking the spatone and last AF was very long)

But now thinking it is possible, as last cycle i was in full pmt mode by now (AF arrived day 23) but so far i don't even have sore boobs. WTF is going on?

Shirazz · 27/11/2009 18:22

hmmmm weird Alice.....
Right, i'm back from the shop and armed with 1x clearblue
I will hold off though, until tomorrow morning so I can have one standard guilt free glass of wine with my dinner... Or perhaps I should hold off until Sunday, since x-factor is on over the weekend and I enjoy a little tipple with that

nymphadora · 28/11/2009 07:32

HELP I think i have cystitis and it the shag week what do I do?

Also concerned about a headache I get near ov time as I got one yesterday so potentially ovulated yesterday

ARGHHhhh!

Shirazz · 28/11/2009 07:56

Hello ladies..... well I caved, and very very happy to report a BFP!!
Good luck to everyone else testing!

Nymph - maybe get a quick doc appointment - I'd sit and wait at the GP if they have none. I'm not familiar with cyctitis, but maybe they can nip it in the bud?

nymphadora · 28/11/2009 08:14

Congrats Shirazz

w/e gp clinic is 20 miles away, bit reluctant to go unless it urgent as am so tired don't feel safe to drive &dh has a work thing he can't really get out of. Am just drinking loads ATM to try & flush I through

Nymph do you have any cranberry juice that is supposed to do the trick.

Shirazz congrats on your BFP and let it be a sticky one.

Yikes its nearly December am thinking I need to find a new improved Xmas name. Am bored of my current name anyways. But can't think of anything witty enough to replace it.

I am on day 8 not day 9 so will change it

Thanks ladies!! Yes I will be designated driver for the festive season! dh couldn't be happier!

whatkatydidnext · 28/11/2009 10:42

sparklyalice and POAS club. Would love to to hang on a few days and test together but will be travelling across the globe to start my holiday this weekend. The earliest I can test is Wednesday which already feels like ages away! Must find other things to think about in the meantime ...

shirrazz yay! fantastic news on you BFP!!

PS: I am TTC#1

SparklyAlice · 28/11/2009 12:38

Congratulations Shirazz!!!!!

Nymph i tend to get UTI's a bit since having DD, but have only had AB's once. Drink pints (and i mean pints) of water, you will be weeing for England but it really does help. Good luck, it is horrid.

Thought AF was on the way today as had a bit of pain this morning, but gone again now, so maybe/maybe not.

PoppyIsApain · 28/11/2009 12:44

Congrats shirazz
Im still feel quite crappy but ov day soon so going to keep trying. Hope to see loads more positives

Chulita · 28/11/2009 13:12

Congratulation Shirazz
Nymph - if you can get Cystocin powder, you dissolve it in water. They sell it in supermarkets/Boots etc. I had cystitis when I first got married and it was horrendous. Cystocin deffo did the trick for me, it's such a horrible feeling...you have my sympathies.

Shirazz · 28/11/2009 13:15

Thanks all!

SparklyAlice - That is exactly what I had - initially I thought they were AF pains but they would come and go so sounds positive!

SparklyAlice · 28/11/2009 13:19

Hmmmm...

FloweryBoots · 28/11/2009 16:24

Woo hoo, congrats Shirazz!

I was about to recomend the powder for cistitus - did the trick for me a while back. That and just spending the day drinking constantly. I recomend getting a good book and then just staying on the loo, it'll save all that time getting up and then going back again! You have my smpathy Nymph.

Starting to wonder if I am making up these symptoms or if I really might have some, but they seems to come and go which I assumed ment I imgained them, but perhaps not. Been tired the past few days, but actually feeling fine today after yawning non stop yesterday. Slightly sore boobs too. Do get that before AF but it's more sore nipples usually and this is more sore at the top of my boobs and nipples are fine (sorry TMI )

Told DH and now he's convinved I must be PG so really hope I haven't got his hopes up. Sadly he is now refusing to let me drink anything, but went shopping this morning and bought loads of wines as we've got his parnets here.

nymphadora · 28/11/2009 16:57

I cant stand the powders [bawk] and I just cant get them down. I have been drinking loads but not a great weekend to stay in as there is a major festival in town and loads happening about 2 mins from my house.

nattiecake · 28/11/2009 18:38

af due in seven days, not a sausage re the early signs this month.
i wonder if thats a positive sign...?

Mummy369 · 28/11/2009 20:41

Well, had a really stressful week, some VERY serious PMT going on. Had some cheapo HPT's from Wilkinsons and decided to POAS on Wednesday morning - BFN (yes, I know I'm mad - was only 8 days post-OV), caved and POAS again Thursday pm (I know, ridiculous, supposed to do it early in the morning) but thought I was going mad and might have seen a shadow (that's right - not a line!) so POAS again this morning - same again (but need a VERY strong microscope).

Truly going mad at that point so had to go to BOOTS for their BOGOFF FR tests (on way to work). Got to work and POAS - BFP what a shock - really didn't believe it and I'm, like, only 10 days pregnant!
