Welcome Geezette - yep sounds like Clomid. It does get better. I seem to just get moody now!!! Do you take it just before bed? Thats the best way to get over most of the symptoms!

Aww Jobo sorry af got you! Glad you had a good day. We had fun competing against each other on the Wii! Had such a laugh, so needed. Also sounds like you have fantastic support from Hosp. I don't know if you agree Clure but I feel like I'm stumbling about in the dark!!!!

Clure I had a lovely day. Aww bless DD, she's adorable! As is DS Jobo - sounds like my brother when he was little. If someone gave him some money, he wouldn't accept less than a fiver! My Granddad always gave it too him! lol.

Boobs still feel firm, bruised & look a little veiny - I hope I'm not going to be disappointed again this month. My best friend is so worried I will be that she's on tender hooks! AAARRRGGGGHHH! Wish I knew what was going on!

Xx

jobobpip08 · 07/01/2010 22:13

popsy well thats a funny thing. They don't seem to have a proper messaging system, you can set up this CAT thing and it passes your contact details on! For a fiver! Bit of a novice on MN. Do you want to email me nash_jo @ yahoo.com. (Hope it shows it!) Get there eventually! x

Geezette82 · 07/01/2010 22:39

Hi ladies. Thanks for the warm welcome .

Fairy - I took the Clomid in the mornings this time but will try taking it at night next month. The symptoms weren't too bad when i was actually taking the tablets but have gotten worse during the month!

I had a Day 10 scan and had one good sized follicle and two smaller ones. I had two progesterone levels done, as my Day 21 fell on sat 2 so they made me have two, one on the thurs and then another on the mon and got levels of 73 and 78, which the infertility nurse said was good and showed i ovulated so we are keeping our fingers crossed

Am crossing my fingers for all of you too!!

Fairygodmother1 · 07/01/2010 22:47

Geezette thats really good on the first month. I know some have conceived first month. I didn't ovulate till 2nd cycle. Then been left to get on with it! My moods have got worse, but the panic attacks & thats have become non-existant!

Hello everyone - I haven't been on for ages (took me ages to read through and catch up), so I hope you will remember me. Have to say WOW! Fantastic news from Stac and Peju. I'm really hopeful for the rest of us as a result. Clure, how are you doing?

stac14 · 08/01/2010 08:38

hey, dont know what happened with last post, must be nappy brain again.

kiwikat hows things been with you? Hope your well

geezette sounds like you have some decent folicles hun. fairy is right about taking clomid at night, defo eased the sickness and stuff. Funnily when i was increased to 100mg my side effects were less but that may have been my body getting used to it. Hope you feel better soon

popsy i had just started scottish slimmers when i found out i was pg, was going to keep going but dp says he wasnt paying a fiver a week for them to tell me i have put weight on lol

OP posts:
Clure · 08/01/2010 11:03

hi kiwi, how are you doing? Where are you at at the moment? I'm having a month off from the clomid to give my body a rest

stac my DD was also a long baby, she went on forever, my Dh is 6'1 (and as I'm only 5'1) I'm guessing she has DHs genes!!

geezette sounds very positive for you. Agree taking clomid at night is better, what dosage are you on?

popsy good luck with the weight watchers

fairy oooh its sounding good for you hun (though don't want to get your hopes up too high, I know only too well what its like to have them dashed)...but you WILL get there you have age on your side and possible IUI as a safety net. hope you enjoying the extra day off

jobobpip08 · 08/01/2010 14:02

popsy

I was exactly the same as you re losing weight, having to go on the clomid etc was all too much with dieting as well, but a couple of months down the line I feel more settled and have tried to be good this week. Even had my 5 a day today! Get the next month out of the way and then see how you are after.

Rang for my follicle scan this am and they said to just mention to the doc that I needed more and he would give me a prescription. All seems to easy! Although she did say it could take a year on clomid to get pg, I didn't really need to hear that! Ho hum.

how is everyone else doing?
xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 08/01/2010 16:43

CD23 for me.

Boobs feel more bruised when I walk or run. Feel absolutely shattered so good it's a snow day.

The losing weight thing is a constant battle for me! Up & down but I'm slowly going down!!!

How is everyone else?

Hi all.

Thanks for the advice Fairy and Stac.

Sorry Stac I meant to say a big congratulations to you yesterday!!

Clure - I am taking 50mgs. I had my scan and because it looked as though I had reacted well to the Clomid the cons said to stay on the same dose for a further 5 cycles. I had my progeterone levels checked this month and am having them done again next month and if they are okay they said they would leave us to try on our own from then on till our next appt in June. I'm told thats standard for the clinic.

I'm on Day 27!

Clure · 08/01/2010 17:33

Fairy - when I fell pg with DD it was my boobs that was the initial symptom. They were incredibly sore. do you get that every cycle though? I was advised to take evening primrose to help with the hormonal imbalance which helped the sore boobs. Having said that if ttc then evening primrose should only be taken up to ovulation. Your signs are good!!

CD 7 for me, going to watch out for the ov symptoms next week even though I'm not taking the clomid will still give it a go!!

hope you are all well. I'm going to be doing another bike session this evening though not on the snowy roads!! DH has rigged up my racing bike on his "Turbo trainer" (contraption which you can put your bike on and its like an exercise bike but better cos you get to ride your own bike and use all the gears etc) only thing is its in our lean-to which is FREEZING!! when you get going its weird cos you are sweating looking out at 5 inches of snow. Still feel great after doing it

Fairygodmother1 · 08/01/2010 18:13

Hi Clure sore boobs are a hit & miss with me, some moths they do hurt & other months they don't. They don't hurt loads but a bruised feeling when touched or walking about. I'm prob setting myself up for a fall!

Less than a week to find out!

stac14 · 08/01/2010 20:17

fairy when you due to test? I had a stinker of a cold when found out i was pg, to be honest felt generally crap sore boobs and all

clure DS was long too so not really surprised this one is the same but I am only 5ft4 and DP is 5ft11 so not overly tall, I did have really long legs till my body grew into them lol

Thanks geezette I'm sure you will be fine once the clomid settles down

popsy and jobob when I saw the first midwife she told me the best I could expect for weight loss with pcos was that I would still be plump, I know this is nonsense as when I met DP I was only 8st unfortunately for me I got comfy and piled it on. My current midwife said although it is hard to loose weight its not impossible (although it feels it) but after baby is here she says they will arrange a weight loss plan for me. You can also check with your GP to see if there is anything they can do in the way of supporting weight loss. In Glasgow they run a weight management programme which is basically a free diet class. You can also get a gym prescription were you get cheaper admission to the gym. I think these are available in different NHS areas, worth a try

Hope everyone is good and wrapped up nice and warm in the house. My house is a disaster area due to the bloody workmen fitting kitchen and bathroom I could cry xxx

Fairygodmother1 · 08/01/2010 20:40

Hi Stac - not due on till Wed so not sure if to wait till then really. I've had a cold since my last af! lol.

I know that you can get cheaper gym admission here too. I found with PCOS that the best diet is foods with low GI, it did work well when I started it over a year ago. It's cos PCOS has similarities with diabetes. I did the Ian maber one which was fine for the first two weeks but the other weeks menus didn't fit with my life style routines (teaching means I can't eat little & often!).

I think low GI is the key but I really should find recipes to get me back in the right direction!!

KiwiKat · 09/01/2010 00:50

I've been really interested to read that losing weight seems to have helped a few of you conceive. I had lost nearly a stone when I conceived ds, am back at that one stone too heavy weight now, so I'm wondering if they're linked. Hmmm. We've been off the clomid for a while, and are starting ivf in February. I'm pretty scared about it - I WISH I'd lost the weight earlier, as I feel that would have helped us conceive naturally, but no time now to put the ivf on hold, as I'm nearly 44. (One woman I know, who is the Matron of the Gynae Unit in a London hospital, told me that they wouldn't offer ivf to someone of my age as the results were so low - that was a bit of blow, but we're going for it anyway. Why spend that money on food or heating, when you can put it towards the wonderful dream of having #2?) So I'm going to get stuck into the weight loss in the hope that it helps with the ivf.

millymolly83 · 09/01/2010 01:39

hi all how are u got my af so start clomid tomorrow well today because its past midnight. then got my scan on the 19th to check if tablets are working so fingers crossed.

Clure · 09/01/2010 09:20

hi,
kiwi - you are in similar boat to me (42, ttc number 2) last consultant appointment they suggested ivf. This in itself was not too much of a shock it was just the mention of donor eggs. When you go for the ivf did you have any checks on your egg reserve or egg quality? I'm not sure I can do the donor egg thing and wondered whether a clinic would still let me use my own eggs (if it were possible) my FSH readings have been very high suggesting prem menopause. I know what you mean about the expense aswell, also sometimes you just have to go with it if it's something you want so much. I have to say that the weight thing is more the other end of the spectrum and consultant checked my bmi to ensure I'm not unerweight - Think he misunderstood my question about doing lots of exercise and would this affect my fertility!
Really wish you all the luck in the world.

millymolly, hi glad your af came and you can get on with clomid. What cycle are you on?

hi stac, fairy, popsy, jobo, peju, geezette and anyone I've missed. I usually go to a singing and music group with DD on Saturday morning but the centre is closed due to snow, we just been singing our own songs and now she's busy with her disney princess colouring! Off to rescue my table from felt pen....

have a great weekend xxxxxxbabydustxxxxxx

Fairygodmother1 · 09/01/2010 12:06

I'm a day out on CD - I'm actually CD25!

Having freezer issues - what number should a fridge/freezer be on on the dial????

More snow arrived in the night & more forcast for the next 3 days! My dad's b'day today so gonna venture out to see him in a bit - only at the other end of the road so not too bad, just need to rescue my sister & her kids so they can get there! lol.

peju - apparently the sea-sickness bands really do work, would advise investing in some. Plus you can be our tester!

Have a 'fun-filled' day what ever snow adventure you have!
