hi,

jobo- so sorry for your mc, sounds like you have been to hell and back. Yes stay away from the estate agents!! My DH would like to move, only locally but to a quieter road and with a larger garden. He's not long had a good promotion and think the salary is now burning a hole in his pocket!!!

Fairy - I felt so lazy after doing all my chores last night I couldn;t even be botherd to get into the bath!! Just wrapped myself up like a sausage roll in a fleecy blanket and attached myself to the sofa!

stac - go for the wii!! Bodypump is a weight lifting class, missed it last night but will go on thursday. I'm off to spin tonight (if it doesn;t snow!!) I'm addicted to exercise I think!! It just gives me a real lift. Am booking up for a half marathon in April. Sorry about your niece hope she's ok, good that GP is doing investigations for her. Yes I have consultant soon, basically I think I'd like to be referrd for initial tests to see if I may be considered for ivf using my own eggs (thinking not a chance but worth investigating) also if I'm not going to conceive naturally if I may need some kind of hormone treatment to regulate my periods. Hope you are not snowed in there?

hiya to the rest of you ladies, how are you doing? Haven't heard from a few of you in a while, hope things ok

Hi ya

Stac I'm gonna ask cons about attempting metformin, if I am going to get IUI & why aint the clomid working??? How's your niece today?

Jobo - sounds like you've been through so much. I haven't been through anything quite that but I think we've all had to put up with some pretty heartbreaking stuff. Just wish I knew when it was all gonna end. I think that this is the def place to be for advice from those who've been through it!

Clure Still blinky cold at school!!!! I spent a lot of my day in my coat. Plus we were both on playground duty!!!

Positive note is that my boobs are still sore (thought it was easing a bit but walking up the corridor today to fetch my blinking printing made me realise how much they hurt). DH thought they looked bigger again last night so we measured them. Gonna do the same tonight & see if they have actually increased but a pretty good clevage going on!!! lol.

Hey clure not snowed in but fed up with it. The cold snap is meant to last another 6 weeks but I hope it doesnt snow again tonight as that may stop me getting my scan, on the other hand other people may struggle to get there so it may not be as busy (ooh how selfish is that) but to be honest the maternity hospital is so busy, hoping to transfer to my local maternity unit.
So impressed by the amount of exercise and training you do, I am so lazy when it comes to physical activity, think the wii and walking is my limit lol Are you looking forward to seeing the cons to see how you move forward?

hope everyone else is good today? xxx

clure the laugh of it is I was trying to avoid a d&c as they make you wait a couple of months before trying again, when the consultant saw me and scanned me the first thing he said was I needed a hysteroscopy and d&c to remove polyps! I had to laugh and I'm sure he now thinks I'm a bit dotty!

stac I like your style! Hope only you can get to your scan and there is no queue . You more nervous or excited?

fairy fingers crossed for you, the symptoms are looking good!

We've only had a bit of snow but more promised tomorrow afternoon, we only need about 10 flakes of snow to stick and the whole island grinds to a standstill, we're hopeless in snow!

Looking forward to a day on my own tomorrow!

stac14 · 05/01/2010 19:46

jobob I am more nervous to be honest, it may seem irrational but I am scared something is wrong. But of course I naturally cant wait to see the baby. Were are you based? Have you had lots of snow? xxx

OP posts:
stac14 · 05/01/2010 19:50

fairy she went to see her gp, think she explained things a bit better to her so she has stopped crying as much but to be honest she is still very down. The clomid only made me ov on one cycle, metformin is defo worth a try (but hey am bias) is your app next week? x

popsy how did your scan go on monday? hope your ok hun x

mllymolly any sign of af? x

Fairygodmother1 · 05/01/2010 19:58

stac my app is 14th Jan. Glad she has it a little more explained. Hopefully this is the boost she needed to get things investigated - look for the silver lining! Bloody hard, I know!

No snow here & looks like it will hit surrounding towns but not here!!!!!

Bloody freezing - can't stop shaking & about to have a bath!

jobobpip08 · 05/01/2010 21:10

stac I think you're quite normal about being nervous, not irrational at all, you can do the excited bit after when your looking at the photos!
I'm down in "sunny" jersey, a couple of inches snow forecast tomorrow so as yet I don't know if there will be school or not.
I think your niece will be down for a while, my first pregnancy I got to 12/13 weeks and had a missed miscarriage, being blissfully ignorant at the time I never expected anything to go wrong and I was absolutely devastated and ended up with a small depression, found it difficult to cope at work etc. Nobody wants to talk about miscarriage or how you feel, but its a very real feeling of loss. The miscarriage association don't have a forum, i think, but they do lots of downloadable leaflets and I think sometimes to know that what you are feeling is normal is comforting. Its not about how long you are pregnant, its about all your hopes and dreams.
fairy you want to be here, its roasting in our lounge, we've got the fire going and last night the dog had to go and find a cool spot on the floor!

stac14 · 05/01/2010 22:22

jobo I think your right hun she will defo be down. One of my biggest fears is a missed mc. just clinging to the fact that I have still have pregnancy symptoms so frightened about that. I have looked it up but dont want to even consider it as an option. I went to Jersey when I was about 4, my gran chased after john nettles to get to meet him lol

OP posts:
jobobpip08 · 05/01/2010 22:28

stac I barely had symptoms and they found it was a blighted ovum (where the egg doesn't actually develop at all but the sac does) so as you've got symptoms that sounds like everything is going as it should. xxx
p.s. Your gran did better than me, i never met him!

stac14 · 05/01/2010 22:41

We had an early scan at 7+4 and 8+4 which showed the baby and its heartbeat, so do you think it will be ok? I am so scared xx What is a blighted ovum? xx

OP posts:
Clure · 05/01/2010 22:56

stac - try to relax hunny, you'll be just fine ok? I'll stop being bossy now

its snowing here now!!!

millymolly83 · 06/01/2010 00:12

hi all still not got af yet hows is everone sorry to hear that stac about your niece

Venetia2 · 06/01/2010 07:08

Good luck for today stac. Hope you have less snow than we do, am stuck at home for the day today.

fairy I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too, the symptoms sound really positive.

Hi to everyone else too, had my scan on Monday, one follicle, looked like it was big enough to burst (don't know how big) so keeping fingers crossed. Now the long wait to know whats happened either way. Got IUI meeting letter through for mid feb but really hoping I can do something to avoid it as am scared!

Frosty baby dust to all!

jobobpip08 · 06/01/2010 07:59

stac if you've had early scans and they were happy with those then I'm sure this one will be fine. With my m/c this summer, he was concerned about the small size at the 6 week scan so I wasn't too surprised when I started to m/c. Blighted ovum - the egg doesn't develop at all i.e. no baby but the sac does. YOU HAVEN'T GOT THIS!! DON'T WORRY! Good luck today, can't wait to hear about it.

ven you only need one! Sounds like they didn't tell you too much? The IUI is nothing to be scared of, around ovualtion they put a tiny catheter through your cervix and squirt up the sperm, so the sperm are in a really good place to fertilise the egg. DOn't know if you saw the tv prog 'The Great Sperm Race'? Gives you a really good idea of the marathon journey sperm have to go through to reach the egg!

Little snow here, more predicted so no school. Knew I should have done my shopping yesterday - we're already getting empty shelves!

Hi jojo this is a great thread - everyone is so lovely. Hopefully you'll get some answers next week after your scan, knowledge is power!

Hoep everyone is safe and warm. Snow day here - altho the roads are clear. I think it will be snow day tomorrow as well, so much for having the wii fit all to myself! I'm sitting here freezing eating yogurt and grapes - must try and find something warmer to eat for breakfast, not really into porrige and I'm trying to stay off wheat and dairy. Its not easy! Shame they haven't got a 'brrr' smiley for today!

Hello all. I've a bito to catch up on as i haven't been on for a few days.
stac i hope your scan went well, it suddenly makes it all seem very real, doesn't it. It always amazes me!
Hi pink i switched over from other thread for the same reason, it was so quiet, its always busy on here.
jojo is it a scan your having or the Hycosy? I had the hycosy earlier in the year, defo need a sanitary towel, i felt ok straight after but then a little woosy so i'd take someone with you. My friend went on her own!!
peju hope you enjoyed your duvet day.

Lots of snow but my school still opened:-( Got stuck in snow going and stuck on ice on our hill coming home!!
My scan went well on Monday, going back tomorrow, follicle had grown to 24.3mm which was good. Just go to wait for it to pop. Cd22 today. Felt sharp pains monday evo so thought i had popped then but had back ache yeaterday and today and a few sharp pains left side earlier. I give up working out what my bodies up to!! Will wait and see what the scan says!!

Thanks for hot choc - feeling sooooo cold!

jobobpip08 · 06/01/2010 17:48

hi pink as I said before, everyone is lovely here, I have been made to feel very welcome.

*peju and fairy keep well wrapped up and hope you're both feeling better soon

nice to see you again popsy the follicle sounds excellent, I had the trigger jab but even after when I should have ovulated I still had some twinges, so it all sounds normal. If you think its a inch big all round, its got to be a bit sore after it 'pops'!

stac c'mon, stop keeping us in suspense

popsy1 · 06/01/2010 17:50
