Hi everyone!

Yep, v quiet on the MN front!
My parents have just been down for a long weekend - they were amazing - they (and DH with minimal help from me) have managed to transform the rather grotty spare room into a gorgeous nursery, I am so impressed, it looks so lovely! Just waiting for all the paint to dry and then can get organised and put things away and tidy!

Dawn hope you manage to bring your DH round to your way Bet you missed him though! Did he think Ellie had noticeably grown in the week he was away?

How are you, Hever and Pistachio? Pistach are you nearly ready for testing?? fingers crossed x

heverhoney1 · 24/08/2009 21:43

Dawn I know the feeling its weird my DP has been working a lot of weekends so when he is at home for the day it really screws up my routine!!!!

Hello ladies, hope you are all ok? V quiet at the minute!

I am the summer is nearly over, although slightly excited as my baby is due in autumn! But really don't want to go back to work (I am a teacher) - always gets me a bit down at this time of year! Shouldn't complain, I know....

Just been to pg yoga and feeling much more chilled out. For some reason though, it always makes me feel really faint, I have no idea why. Although I am prone to fainting at the best of times.

Dawn hope DH is conforming to your new routine

Hever how is Chloe? How old is she now? Hope you are OK.

Any news, Pistach?

Hello all,

Things are good here. Ellie is now sleeping from 8pm through to 7am - what a well-behaved baby we have!!

I gave her one of her Xmas pressies today (yes, I did say ONE of her Xmas pressies as we've bought them all already... ). I had one of those 20% vouchers off of Early Learning Centre so we bought a number of pressies for her. One is a soft caterpillar that we've called "Charlie" who has feet with rustle noises in and lots of lovely colours. For not quite 12 weeks old, Ellie is already holding on to his feet and talking to him in her baby talk, which is really sweet to see! So he goes everywhere with her now, the pram, the carseat, her cot (around the bars). It only cost £6 (before the discount) so it was a real bargain!! I would definitely recommend it.

Eth, I'm dreading going back to work aswell and it's not long for me now. I really don't want to leave Ellie, but if we want to have a roof over our heads and have food in our tummys, I don't have a choice.

MAF, hi honey, glad you found us!! Looking forward to hearing all of your news!

How are you Hever and Pistachio?!

xxx

heverhoney1 · 26/08/2009 21:55

Yeah MAF Welcome!!!! 15 + weeks already? are you blooming? I didnt really bloom I have to admit but I didnt really suffer to badly with ms anyway (Lucky me I know). So have you had a scan yet? did you cry?

Eth - I did a session of Tai chi in early pregnancy and that made me feel faint too it was really weird as I hadnt had any fainting feelings before that and tai chi isnt exactly over exerting. Must be all the good energy! Chloe will be 17 weeks on Sat - getting close to starting to wean which I am looking forward to as she pulls funny faces at the best of times. She still has colief in her bottles at the mo and dont want to start her on any solids until I have got her off of that. I am gradually reducing the dose so she should be off it within the month. (blinking brilliant stuff though if you have a baby who is suffering with colic)

Ah dawn cross posts! hellooo - glad to hear ellie is such a darling. Chloe sleeps from 8 till about 5.00 and then goes back to bed for a lie in (arent we lucky mummies!)

eth37 · 27/08/2009 14:18

Yaaaaaay, glad to see you, MAF!! How are you feeling? Have you got a bump yet? I did at 15 weeks, and was fed up of the 'oooo you're so big already!' comments so you have my sympathies if you are in the same boat!!

I am nearly 28 weeks now, crikey. Baby has been wriggling like mad the past couple of days, and also gets frequent hiccups. It's quite scary but MW assures me it's normal Dawn / Hever do you remember yours hiccuping a lot?

Hever oooo solids sounds like a big milestone - are you breastfeeding still or is she on formula? I am not really looking forward to the prospect of BFing tbh. I wasn't breastfed and neither was DH and both my mum and MIL are reassuring me that formula is fine from day one if needs be.

Right best get on. Spare room done but needs putting back together... Back to work next week, yuck yuck yuck. Dawn when are you going back? Are you going back full-time? Poor you. I don't think I will want to go back at all really, but like you, will have to if we want to eat. Childcare so expensive though, and no family live near so will try and delay it as long as possible.

fairywing · 27/08/2009 18:13

Just quickly dropping in to say hi
I don't seem to be managing to keep up with any of the threads on here at the moment but couldn't not post here. Glad to hear everyone is doing so well. I'm 25 weeks now and i feel HUGE! but i like it so i don't mind Not sure if i told you that we are having a girl and we have already decided we will be calling her Grace. I know its supposed to be really popular these days but i don't actually know of any others. We have just painted the nursery and just need to buy a new carpet for in there. Still need to buy loads of things. Also need to get Christmas sorted in pleanty of time. So much to think about!! Excitingly i have just given work the date i want to go on maternity leave which is the 11th November which is 11 weeks away. Suddenly it all seems very soon!!!

DawnAS · 27/08/2009 18:31

Hey all,

Eth, don't worry about the hiccups, Ellie had them a few times a day when I was PG and still does now, so don't get concerned about it at all. Feels funny though doesn't it, like your tummy has a strange pulse!! Also, don't worry if you decide to FF and not BF. I didn't BF and Ellie is really thriving. I have TBH and say that I do think FF is an advantage for the sleeping as you know exactly how much they are taking at night. I'm sure that's why Ellie sleeps through the night. But some people say that BF also helps the night sleeping, so I guess everyone's experience is different. Just do what feels right for you hun. Summer is also FF and neither of us feel at all guilty about it. I am going back to work on the 19th October and will be doing my full-time hours but over 4 days. My SIL will have Ellie for two days a week and she will be with the CM for the other two days, so we're sorted on that. We are paying my SIL so that it is contracted work and she can't just decide not to do it one day. We can't have that issue when we're both working fulltime.

Fairy, that's great news that you're having a pink one!! Grace is a beautiful name and my Niece's middle name. She is called Lucia Grace. It's such a lovely name!! Glad that you're still feeling so happy with your PG, I didn't really get fed up with mine, even though I ended up with Gestational Diabetes! I really miss it now, so don't wish your PG away too quickly!!

Hever, we are lucky!! All down the parenting I reckon!!

PistachioLemon · 28/08/2009 09:02

Hello hello everyone! Just popping on for a quickie! CD27 today and a little spotting this morning so I think I know what's coming. Ah well. I do have a shiny new Clearblue Fertility Monitor to try out next month so I'm looking forward to that!

eth37 · 28/08/2009 12:41

Yay Pistachio for nice new fertility monitor! And you never know re spotting - does AF normally come on CD27? If it's early, , could it be implantation?? Have got my fingers crossed.

Glad to know that you, Dawn, and Summer are formula feeding - actually I have heard loads of reports that babies are meant to sleep through a lot quicker on the bottle - another advantage! We'll see.... if I do BF it will only be for a maximum of a couple of months, just because it's a winter baby and it could perhaps do with the extra immune-y things, what with all the swine flu madness

Fairy good to hear from you!! I am also liking this bit of pregnancy! Definitely preferable to the constant puking and fainting which, fingers crossed, seems to have abated.... Grace is a lovely name. It is on our girls name list too. As a primary teacher, I feel confident to comment on 'popular' names and I have never taught a Grace. There are none in our school at all IIRC.

Grrrr it is raining here and I have to go to the hospital for my 28 week bloods and GTT. Also horrid nasty anti-D injection as am Rhesus Negative (typical!)

PistachioLemon · 28/08/2009 19:31

Hi Eth, I'm afraid I don't know what 'normal' is any more Before TTC I was a 28 day girl, and I haven't been on the pill for years so it can't be that messing up my cycle. Since TTC it has all gone a bit haywire - and can be anything from 24 to 35 days. I don't think it's implantation, although my temps haven't dropped yet, but they're drifting downwards and I'll probably get a big drop tomorrow.

Good to hear you're enjoying this part of pregnancy.

Fairy I also like Grace as a name. My husband's cousin has named their baby girl Grace, but it's the only one I know of. And anyway, if you like it, you should go for it, definitely.

Hi to everyone else!

eth37 · 28/08/2009 22:05

PL that is rubbish about your cycles. I hope they sort themselves out soon. Have you tried Agnus Castus? I know it gets mixed reviews on here but I found it excellent at regulating my cycle/hormone levels when TTC and made the CD I ovulated on v regular and easy to predict. I also had a short luteal phase and it lengthened that by a day or two which I think must've helped. Think I got mine from Holland & Barratts or GNC. You can get it online too. Maybe worth a try?

PistachioLemon · 28/08/2009 23:22

Thanks Eth, I've heard mixed things about it too but I was thinking of giving it a go actually. My luteal phase is pretty short - generally ten days - so I've been wondering if this has contributed to the problem. I've had a couple of cycles where it's gone to 15 days and those are the ones where I thought something was happening but didn't stick. DH has his sperm tests booked for the 8th September too so I'm crossing fingers that there's nothing wrong there.

BubbaP · 29/08/2009 15:58

Hello girls

Sorry I haven't posted for a while - been busy sorting the house and still in work for a few more weeks!

Great that so many of us are now on this thread - so lovely to hear everyone's news after such a long time!

Hever and Dawn so glad that Chloe and Ellie are doing well, and it's great that you've got some spare time to post little updates on here!

Hever what fantastic news that you?re now engaged ? be lovely to have another wedding on this thread!

Dawn will you please pass on my best wishes to Summer and baby William ? and tell her that I?ve been thinking of them!

Pistachio congratulations on passing your course ? well done! Sorry to hear that AF appears to be on her way this month but keeping my fingers crossed that you will get your BFP soon.

Hello Eth, yes we must be about a month apart.... maybe we need to start a new list of dates on here? With my pregnancy brain, I can?t store & process all that type of information!

Welcome back to MAF - how are you doing?? Can?t believe you?re almost 16 weeks already!

Big hello to Fairy! Great to see you too. Fantastic news that you?re having a baby girl, and love the name Grace! It?s so exciting decorating the nursery isn?t it? What kind of theme have you gone for? We?ve just had ours painted and new carpet was laid yesterday. My dad and sis are coming round tomorrow to assemble the furniture and then we?ll be pretty well organised!

We don?t know what we?re having, but getting desperate to find out! Guess we won?t have to wait that long before we know! I?ll be 33 weeks on Monday, and only got 2 weeks left in work so the countdown is really on now. I?m still really enjoying being pregnant but it?s definitely getting more uncomfortable carrying the bump around, getting swollen ankles and feeling faint when I lie back. The baby?s breech at the moment so keeping everything crossed that he/she will turn in time. We?ve just finished our NCT classes and met some really nice couples there. Looking forward to starting back on aqua natal classes once the schools go back.

Big hugs to you all xxxxx

eth37 · 01/09/2009 18:38

Hello ladies
Hope we are all ok? Did you all have a nice BH weekend?
BubbaP yes we must be a month apart - I am due on 21st Nov, how about you? We also don't know what we are having! Which makes the name problem a bit tricky! We've got girls names totally sorted though but really struggling on the boy front! DH and I just can't seem to agree, and a lot of my favourite names have been 'taken' by family! Any suggestions welcome! Middle name has to be Thomas after my Grandad, so first name will need to go with that. Not that people really use middle names that much, but my Grandad died when he was only 54 and I think it would mean something to my Dad and also my Grandma. Do ELlie and Chloe have middle names? Apologies if you have already told me, my brain is not what it used to be

Dawn was meaning to ask - did Ellie see the consultant about her eye? I hope she's OK and doesn't need a general anaesthetic.

Pistachio I hope AF didn't arrive. Have you had some blood tests too or is it just DH? I would def go down the agnus castus route if I were you. I am sure it made a big difference to me.

Hi to everyone else!

DawnAS · 01/09/2009 20:26

Hi all,

Eth, Ellie has two middle names. DH has aswell so we didn't think it would be a problem... Her full name is Elesha Ellen Rose. Ellen was DH's Mum's middle name. DH's Mum died tragically when DH was only 15, she drowned in the bath... Rose was my Nan's name and I love it!! Don't know if you'll like it, but our choice for a boy was Ashton. Personally, I think Ashton Thomas sounds lovely! I don't know many people called Ashton either so it's quite unique I think. On your other question, Ellie has now been referred to a Consultant at Exeter hospital so we're waiting for the appointment to come through. I think she probably will need a GA but I'd rather have it sorted sooner than later, but we'll see.

Hope everyone else is Ok!!

xxxx

heverhoney1 · 07/09/2009 21:46

Hello Ladies.

Sorry I have been so quiet I think Chloe is teething. She is obviously very uncomfortable but she is trying so hard to be good and not cry too much so lots of cuddles are in order.

To answer the question - Chloe is Formula fed too. I tried to mix feed at the start but I wasnt producing enough milk to satisfy her. She was a hungry baby and I needed a blood transfusion a couple of days after the birth so my body wasnt really performing at its best! anyway by the time we got out of the hospital and home I decided to try expressing incase she was just not trying to hard and found formula easier. It took me 2 hours and both breasts twice at full strength of the pump and I still only got half of what Chloe normally took in 1 feed. I dont feel bad about it as I tried (more than I thought I would to be fair) and Chloe is a happy healthy little girl so all is good!

eth37 · 13/09/2009 10:32

Hello ladies!
Hope everyone is good and having a nice weekend.
I am back at work and soooo exhausted! Meant to be working for another 8 weeks (and 30+2) and just not sure how I will cope! We will see.
Formula feeding is meant to help with sleep patterns, isn't it? I think I will give BF-ing a go, but am not that bothered to be honest. Neither DH nor I were B-fed.
How are you Pistach?
Where is Crunchy?

PistachioLemon · 14/09/2009 09:22

Just popping in to say hello to everyone. The spotting was what I thought it was unfortunately but now I'm on CD17 - and there are still two bars on the CBF monitor so lots of sex to be had until I get three bars and a little eggie

heverhoney1 · 16/09/2009 22:34

So pistachio are you 3 barred out yet lol??

OP posts:
PistachioLemon · 17/09/2009 07:03

NO! Still two (although I forgot to pee yessterday, stupid me)... and temps haven't gone up either. Oh dear, maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

heverhoney1 · 19/09/2009 22:08

All is not lost- despite my peeing on countless sticks I NEVER got a fully positive OPK and you know how that story ended lol.
