Hi everyone.
New thread starts here....

OP posts:
mowmi · 12/02/2009 21:16

Hi Everyone, I'm still lurking but don't have much to contribute at the moment!! We will be going again around May time - going to try and loose some weight in the meantime (Saw consultant and she said my BMI puts me at greater risk of miscarrIage yesterday)
Only really popped in to tell Nappy not to loose hope...I'm not the best example but I didn't feel at all pregnant - not just saying that... I 100% thought my period was about to arrive! Keeping everything crossed for you!

Ladies - I will continue to lurk and contribute when I can.

Love to all x

sootykalucy · 13/02/2009 00:12

Hi everyone, I'm a bit like Mowmi at the moment, not much to report and flagging in enthusiasm for it all. Still intending to see a new doctor in on March 3 . . . but not sure my cycles have returned to normal yet and not wanting to continue till they do . . .

Good luck with this one Lottie and re exercise I was just told to be careful AFTER ET, no one mentioned a problem during stims . . and I would have thought it was the opposite?

I hope you all enjoyed the snow . . . I was jealous

spook · 13/02/2009 08:28

Morning all.
I can't imagine what that two week wait must be like Nappy. Ho hum and twiddle dee dee indeed. Anything thats different from last time can only be a good thing though? And-not long to wait now!!!!3 more sleeps in actual fact. (if you can wait that long) well done for keeping so busy!
No idea what the differences are between sniffing and injecting Issy Didn't know you could inject for your down reg actually. I wasn't offered a choice. (but I know which one I'd have taken, given my thoughts on needles) I think the problem with sniffing is that they can't really judge how much of the drug is going in. I quite often sneeze after sniffing, which can't help!
Can't quite get my head round the fact that I start again tomorrow. I feel almost "passe" about it after last times cock up. Quite good I think. Alot less stress than I felt last time. Just a very boring but necessary needs to an end!
MBT's are Masai Barefoot Technology-ridiculous looking Spice Girl type trainers which make your posture and gait very different. Great for your bum and thighs. I've been for 3, hour long walks this week and feel reasonably smug.(and reasonably knackered) Fitness drive all over now though because the boys have broken up for half term. Short and sweet!
Hi Mowmi and Sooty. Nice to see you. Completely understand your "flagging enthusiasm" but time will fly and you'll be back on the merrygoround in no time I'm sure!
Hope your sniffing's going ok Bamboo You have an end in sight
We had a RIDICULOUS amount of snow yesterday. I got drenched on my walk. And me and DS2 had to go out at 9.30 last night to pick DS1 up from his Valentines disco. And he had a snog Am tempted to throw some sort of party! He went out a boy, he came home a man. (no tongues-he's only 12)

Hi Ladies, thought I would check in and see how you are and post instead of LURK!

Spook - glad thins are moving on for you again, I wish you all the luck in the world. I too, love my MBT's. Thighs of steel! LOL - go girl

Mowmi- good to see you sweets, May isn't too far away. Not sure what your BMI is, mine is 29/30 !!!! not a good BMI to have. I really do think they need to give you extra support from a hormone perspective. Having said that, you will feel great if you lose some weight too. It will make you feel much better when you get your BFP (convinced you will get one this time!)

Sooty - good luck for you too, don't be too envious of the snow, it has now turned into flippin' rain where I live and I yearn for the warmth of sunnier climes

NV - hope you are doing ok?

Bamboo - good luck for your cycle too

LL - how are you???? how is your course going?

Update from me: We had our 12 wk scan yday. Baby is fine, however the pisspoor NHS scanning unit meant the sonographer caused me so much pain trying to get nuchal measurements cos she couldnt see thru all the scar tissue in my stomach(5 operations, adhesions from ovarian cancer and infections!) However the private scan was as clear as day. Poor DH's fingers were crushed by the time she had finished. And we had a fire alarm in the middle of it!

We were at the hospital for 2 hrs, waiting for the scan then the bloods. From the scan, looks like all is fine, poor baby must have been squashed and kept curling up. I was not a happy lady!

I have now stopped all my meds... yes ladies there is an end from ceasless injecting and pessary taking. And black Knicker wearing, however I cannot now get into my nice pretty knickers.

I am always a bit worried stopping the meds, yet at the same time relieved. I will not miss the white pessary discharge which has burned through 3 pairs of knickers, seriously, 3 pairs have gained holes in my crutch since starting the treatment!!!

right off to do battle with some fool at work... hope you all have a lovely, relaxing valentines day.

belgium yippee a real milestone. Things really start picking up pace from here on in.

flibberty yeah 12 weeks a milestone too. It must be quite scary coming off the meds, but now your little one is doing it all by him/herself. Scans sounds a total mare though.

spook re: sniffing v injecting. Most clinics don't seem to give a choice you just get told which drugs that clinic prefers to use for their protocols. Mine only do injections (burserelin) while my SIL was sniffing away.

Right off to cause havoc round IKEA with church youth 11-14yr olds. Hopefully we won't cause too much trouble during our scavenger hunt.

Still no signs either way. ho hum said pooh.

Hello all

Not posted anything recently as I am just waiting for AF to arrive to start things moving again!

Did a little BD'ing with DH recently in the vain hope that I will not have to start 1st tx, but very unlikely all the same!

Anyway, as a lot of us are starting around the same time-ish, it will be good to compare symptoms, etc...

Have just been shopping and bought some v expensive bright pink shoes!! At least I know they will fit over the next few months! But not quite sure what I will wear them with thoough - but they looked so nice on the shelf!!

pinkie08 · 14/02/2009 14:59

ll ha you wimps my first IVF last sept I started on 400iu (and was only 34 btw at the time) we had 8 eggs. Really sorry about DPs job.Zurich is great but not sure where you would stand on getting permission to stay for a year w/o work as their rules are more lax these days, but are not EU reciprocal. I have relatives over there. Great opportunity though and how is your swiss german??

I had a great time with youth group in IKEA and last night at my 1920s murder mystery mite with a girlfriend was fab too, but was so knackered and up and down in the night with DS that I did not attempt test this morning. Also we had friends over today and I didn't want to spoil the day by being down.

I do not feel at all pregnant and seeing as I would be the equivalent of 18DPO I think we can guess what tomorrow's test will be.

But I promise girls to take the test first thing. Don't get your hopes up. I am already wondering what our next step should be. I am up for 1 more shot at it and then giving up, but we shall have to see.

Morning everyone,
Nappy-I will be watching with baited breath this morning. We're going away though so am hoping you post before we go!!! Good luck.
bb Fab news!! Things are finally moving for you.
Hi Pinkie Hope your house move went ok and not too stressful. I am all for accupuncture but I also realise it is entirely subjective and a very personal thing. I have no doubts that it may all be a load of bunk!
Down regging tomorrow. Yay! Exciting for you.
Lottie Crikey-that is some news for you to process. As if you didn't have enough to think about. A year abroad would be a wonderful opportunity normally but its not ideal timing is it? When do you think he'll hear for sure about the job?
I think the Menopaur arrived on Saturday by the way but I missed the postman. Going to pop down this morning. Thankyou in advance if it is!
Flibberty Hurray for stopping all the meds. Your gussets no longer need to be fireproof! That scan sounds like a bloody nightmare but so pleased for you at hitting that 12 week landmark.
Hi to dharma and gilly Hope you're ok.
I've got to rush. We're off to a log cabin in the woods in Yorkshire for half term. No internet or phone
I'm really looking forward to it actually.Taking the dogs and bikes. Should be fab!
I'll keep checking in for Nappy updates till we leave. Good luck to everyone starting in the next week.

Morning ladies. It is no surprise, but it was BFN this morning. I am a little sad but not plunged into despair as I thought I would be at the start of this attempt. I am quite upbeat -maybe because DS is STILL asleep

I knew what the result would be yesterday, as I remember what it felt like to be pregnant last time (I did not bloom )

But will call clinic and see if we can got for another round of ICSI and that will be the end of it. We need to move on with our lives and the age gap would be way way too big for my liking.

Keep Going girls statistically the next person on the thread should be a BFP!!!! :0)

spook · 16/02/2009 09:02

Oh Nappy sweetheart. I'm so sorry. You sound very strong but I know what a blow it must be.
I'm thinking of you. xxxxx
