Hi smileycat and hi to all others,

Big congrats . they may give you 2 dates one based on your last af and another based on size of sticky bean when they do your 12 week scan.

Am sitting on my hands cd26 today and no red smears yet but not getting hopes up so am anticipating its arrival

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 29/12/2008 18:09

Smiley - you'll be given an expected date based on a bog-standard 28 day cycle from the first day of your last AF. Dates will then be adjusted if the foetal measurements are drastically different for dates when you go for your 12 week and 20 week scans. Mind you, I know exactly when I conceived with ds and I still had to be induced 2 weeks late!

C1NDY - with you there and feeling the same . It's bizzare to think that at this time last year I was pregnant and worrying whether having 2 children so close together was such a great idea. Now 15 months on, I'm beginning to worry about the gap being too big .

However; new year, new start and all that .

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 29/12/2008 18:13

I know that it's not usually done, but can I also add an important date to the list, just so that I can see it finally getting closer? I've finally got an appointment about the mcs.

x

yellowflowers · 29/12/2008 22:51

oh no - I started spotting this evening - 9dpo but had temp dive this morning so probs period on way but perhaps that means worrying lp?

C1NDY · 30/12/2008 09:43

Wincies I am wishing it will be a wonderful year of BFP for everyone on this TTC list. Time is flying by and I am now on my third cycle of trying ? where does the time go. I have brushed myself down again and ready for the next DP mission :0) Just want AF to arrive sooner, can?t wait till New Year?s day and then I can start counting down to DPO8.

I wouldn?t worry about the age gap of children, my parents had 5 of us and we have such different age gaps big as 5 years and we still get on together.

My only concern is that I am 39 and rolling on for my big 40 in March, I feel like 40 already. I wonder whether my biological clock has stopped ticking. I am going to keep trying until the end of June and then DH and I have decided to give up. We have a lovely 2yrDD and she keeps us very busy.

iggypiggy · 30/12/2008 09:58

v quick message from me as am on holiday and checking from my mobile. I have cramps today which i think is 10dpo, so guess af on way? Might test tomorrow or new years day anyway tho... Too tempting! c1ndy 40 doesn't sound old to me... Would have thought you would still have time x x

BoosieBoo · 30/12/2008 12:47

Hi everyone,

Firstly smiley - fab news! How are you feeling?

Had my scan this morning - good news. All going well so far, bean is measuring right for dates and strong, fast heartbeat. So relieved Just have to sit tight for another 4 weeks. As predicted my mum took one look at me last week and asked when I was due. Was really nice to tell her actually, it felt kinda weird she didn't know. Going to tell DH's parents and my dad today and then wait for 12 weeks for everyone else.

Hope you all have a lovely new years. Ooodles of baby dust to you all xx

smileycat · 30/12/2008 13:01

Boosie it must have been great to see your little bean on the screen..how far on are you now?
I have an appointment with the gyni next Weds its supose to be for a checkup on my remaining ovary for cysts (to get the all clear) & to have a smear.........I don't know if I should cancel it or keep it.
I guess I wont be able to have the smear but she will use the internal vaginal probe to look at my ovary & I was hoping I might get a sneaky peak at my bean while she is in there, I'll only be 5 wks then although more like 6wks with my dates as I OV'd a wk early. I don't think I'll see a heart beat then but it will give me peace of mind that something is really there. I'm just worried that she might tell me I've wasted her time & should have booked in with a midwife & canceled her appointment...what do you think?

BoosieBoo · 30/12/2008 16:23

Hi smiley. I'm 8 weeks now. I had a scan about the same time with DS and everything worked out ok, so hopefully this will be the same. I'd keep the appointment - you won't be able to have the smear, but you could just explain the situation to her and hopefully she'll be kind and scan you anyway.

SuiGeneris · 30/12/2008 16:57

Hi guys
back after a longish absence visiting families over Christmas- for obvious reasons did not want mumsnet turning up in their browsing histories. Congratulations to all those with BFPs- delighted for you.

Until yesterday I was rather hoping to be joining you (had, for the first time in 14 months of TTC, intermittent nausea, very tender breasts and abdominal twinges from DPO6 to DPO13) but unfortunately it now looks very much like I will still be around for the January version of this thread.

We have started investigations, so watch this space.

TMI WARNING.... For the record, I think grapefruit juice plus guanifesin had worked: had bleeding and cramps yesterday and today (respectively CD24/DPO14 and CD1), with clots and feeling much worse than normal on CD1, so I guess this is another very early miscarriage. So, while we wait for the results of the tests I will be back on grapefruit juice and guanifesin next week.

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 30/12/2008 18:32

Oh Boosie, such lovely news about your bean ! I remember that monent with ds. I had an early scan because of the ectopic a few months before. The sonographer showed me a little blob and a heartbeat amd then said 'oh and I've got a surprise, there's another one in there too!' Even though the twin wasn't to be, it's such a special memory seeing the proof for the first time .

And Smiley, I think that it would be a very cruel sonographer who refused to let you see, or even tell you what is happening. Fingers crossed.

Well, the week of non-stop bd'ing starts here. Dh is happy as a 'once-a-week' kind of bloke, so has been told in no uncertain terms what is expected !

pinkie08 · 30/12/2008 20:38

Hi all,

Boosie great news about your bean.

smiley they will show you the screen you only need to try and pear round and say can i look and they will let you.

I think im out as had pink smearing this afternoon so guess will still be here next month without my BFP

yellowflowers · 30/12/2008 23:22

still spotting so pretty sure it's af but temp was up this morning again so will wait and see what happens tomorrow before updating list. Feeling miserable but having big party tomorrow at our place so will hopefully be cheerful for that.

Pezzina · 31/12/2008 09:25

Morning everyone.

Yellowflowers what was your temp this morning - was it still up? [hopeful smiley]

My fingers are crossed for all of you lovely ladies who are testing today/tomorrow.

Wincies enjoy the BD-athon

Smiley you used FF didn't you? If you want to find out how many weeks you are you can use their sister site "Pregnancy Tracker". Once you have logged in you can input the date of your last AF or, to be more precise, the date you OV'd and FF will calculate how many weeks gone you are.

I'm off to the Dr's this morning to tell her my news. I feel a little bit nervous.

smileycat · 31/12/2008 09:57

Pezzina thanks for that I have just done what you suggested & instead of being 3+5 with my LMP I am now 4+6 with my OV date, that means I'll be 1 day short of 6 wks when I go & see the gyni next wk for my appointment & may get to see a heartbeat after all

JingleJools · 31/12/2008 10:09

In a foul mood today - overslept and was late for the gym, then DP was feeling "friendly" so I decided not to race there as I have a suspicion that my body may decide to OV soon - to cut a long story short and avoid TMI, all he wanted was for me to lend a hand - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Oh, for anyone interested, there is a good pregnancy calculator here that you can adjust for cycle length or put in date of conception or, if a scan adjusts your edd, you can track back and see if it makes sense based on when you think you conceived

whatsfortea · 31/12/2008 10:10

Hi everyone,

Just catching up before the New Year. CD10 for me today, already failing to do the DP proper as missed BD on CD8 but managed CD9 instead, so going for the odd number days I think - surely it's got to be almost as good?!

Will also add myself to list while am here

Spotting has gone but is sure to be back it always is

On a good side the gynae has agreed to do one more month of clomid while i wait for my app. at the fertility specialists. I wasnt going to bother taking it to let my body rest but with the cost of any treatment we may need it might be worth one more go.

Good luck to all those testing, i cant be bothered due to yesterdays spotting.

Smiley I am sure you will get that wonderful sound of the heartbeat, nothing in the world like it, ((((hugs)))) and enjoy.

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 11:47

Hi all.

Happy new year.
pezzina - good luck with doc. My temp is back up this morning but still spotting so don't know what is going on, and had a couple of beers last night which could explain temp?

breasts very sore though but could be impending period.

Have agreed with dh 2 more months of trying then he'll get sperm checked and we'll go to my specialist together (I am with him for pcos though I ovulate every month and he said if no luck by christmas make an appt to see him, but I want to give it a couple more months to try without the stress of intervention and tests). Both me and dh are 30.

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 11:53

My temps in case anyone fancy being obsessive with me have been:

coverline - 36.26
2dpo - 36.36
3dpo - 36.42
4dpo - 36.33
5dpo - 36.48
6dpo - forgot!
7dpo - 36.51
8dpo - 36.51
9dpo - 36.29 (big dip - spotting started that evening)
10dpo - 36.46 (back up)
11 dpo (today) - 36.4

smileycat · 31/12/2008 13:03

Yellow is this your first month of temping, if not you could look back over the last couple of months to see if there is a difference this time around. How many days past OV do you usually go? Mine followed pretty much exactly the same path for 3 months then this month when it was supose to start dropping 2 to 3 days before AF it stayed up so had a good idea before I tested that I could be pg..good luck to you this could still be your month & the bleeding could be implantation spotting

yellowflowers · 31/12/2008 13:24

thanks smiley - only second month of charting and looks different this month but not really enough to go on - am in foul mood today picking fights with dh though which could be pmt. He said this morning "are you in a bad mood because you want a baby" and I'm afrad the answer is yes. oh dear. Must start yeiar positively.

So... have a great night everyone. x

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 31/12/2008 18:28

Thanks pezzina .

Yellowflowers, I don't know whether saying this will just depress you, I don't mean to be a meanie, so I'll add the disclaimer that eveyone's cycle is different and what is normal for me won't be for you etc, etc.

But, when I was charting, I had a similar coverline of about 36.2. Just before ov it would dip to 35.8-36.1 and then rise to around 36.3-36.6 dropping right back just before AF. When I've been pg, it has kept rising to around 36.7-37.0 in the 4th week. So for me it involves a big rise in temperature.

Hope this sort of helps, although not necessarily the answer you were looking for .
