Hello,

As Nelix has a bfp (yay!) and she started the last one I thought I'd start this one as a continuation of this thread

Here's hoping we all get BFPs this month but if not then let's continue the thread until we all graduate

becky congratulations.

spats sorry about af , I know its hard but focus on trying again next month (easier said than do I know) sending big hugs

yellowflowers · 11/11/2008 11:04

Hi pezzina - my opks not worked at all this month - not even a faint line with fmu so maybe a bad batch, or maybe I am not ovulating this month or maybe I am going to have an ultra long cycle - aaaargh!

Sans04 · 11/11/2008 11:28

Hi all
Pezzina thank you alot you're very right I am not alone I already had all the support that I asked for.
Becky well done fantastic news, don't worry, enjoy the moment lets hope strongly it will work out this time. I'm so happy for you lots of big hugs for you.
spats I am sorry af got you, I know how hard is that we all felt same way but ust take it easy and try to be positive, lots of big hugs to you too.
Smileycat good on you go for the OV sticks I think that is more accurate and peacfull mind good luck.
sending lots of baby dust to all of us.

smileycat · 11/11/2008 11:46

pezzina & yellow some of the website do say that not every woman ovulates every month, some times you have an 'off' month & no egg is produced. I know its frustrating as its another month wasted, but at least if you don't get a poss on your OPK stick you can relax in the 2WW. That's one of my biggest fears that I am not OVing or only every other month, with only 1 ovary & 38 yrs old every month counts. I should OV this month around 19th so will be very happy when the OPK tell me I have it will def put my mind at rest. FF friend says I did last month from my temp rise, but the rise in temp is your body warming up the womb just incase the egg gets fertilized, I don't know if its a def sign that you have released an egg, but the OPK picks up the hormone, so I will believe that more than FF, big hug to you both ((hug))

Hello ladies,

Wow this thread has had a busy weekend! sorry i haven't been on, been a very hectic weekend here!

Anyway, Congratulations Becky!!!!!!
Try and stay as positive as possible, we are all sending positive thoughts for a sticky bean!!!

Welcome to Sans you'll enjoy this thread, it's helped me de-stress so many times and has actually stopped DH seeing the crazy woman that i become during the 2ww and when af arrives!

I'm CD28 today 8DPO so have until next monday before AF arrives, which ive convinced myself is going to happen. I've been very naughty this month because i convinced myself it wasn't going to happen. Never mind, start a fresh next month with the DP and armed with GFJ too!! The only problem is we are going away on the 23rd for 2 weeks with my parents and my OV day would fall the day before we fly home, hmmm that may be tricky seems as we are staying in the same house! I'll just grab DH when I can and try and be quiet oh dear!!

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:30

smiley, if FF says you have ov'd, then you have - that warming progesterone only gets secreted if the egg has been released, so don't you worry! BBT (showing a sustained rise in temps) is the only way to know that you have ov'd. The OPKs tell you that you're about to, but it may not always happen - only the high temps can confirm it.

yellow, it's possible to miss the LH surge on OPKs if you don't wee on the sticks at the right time of day - avoid first thing in the morning; around 2pm or evening is best they say. Oh they're tricky things, these OPKs...

Cindy, thanks for all the support! I'd love you to keep me company in a fortnight. Really hope you get your BFP!

smileycat · 11/11/2008 12:42

Thanks Village for the info, last month was my 1st month of temping so still getting to grips with what it all means. At least if FF & OPK tell me I've OV'd this month that will be two in row & mean that my one ovary is producing every month..I will be a happy bunny then ..roll on next wk

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 12:55

smiley, it all sounds good. If FF tells you that you have ov'd, go ahead and trust it! I also do both OPKs and FF - the OPKs give me hope, and FF seals the deal.

BeckyMcG · 11/11/2008 12:58

Girls ? your words of support are great. I actually feel better just reading them. I love this chat room as I know letting anyone know in real life will Jinx it. I?m going to be as healthy as I can, I really am. If it is a sticky bean I think I?ll also go for a private scan as soon as I can which would be w/c 8th December or some-time before Xmas. £100 will be worth it for me to have piece of mind before the break.

When I was much younger ? a teenager- I accidentally fell pregnant and when I went for the 12 week scan they said the baby had died at 8 weeks. This was obviously a huge relief back then as I was deciding what to do but would hate that to happen now. There had been no symptoms at all.

Yellow ? I used OPK?s a couple of cycles and they didn?t always work ? or maybe I didn?t ovulate I suppose as I was unsuccessful
Spats ? sorry AF got you ? I know how you feel have been there several times before!

VillageMum · 11/11/2008 13:02

Becky, hoping and believing that all will go well for you this time round. I had a mmc in September; I think we just have to remember that each pg is unique and that the statistics for it being just fine next time are on our side! x

Heebychick · 11/11/2008 13:08

Becky* lots of love honey and huge congratulations!!! If it helps i am feeling exactly the same as you, i had all the excitement and then lost it early in first trimester. I am panic striken every time i get a twinge and although i'm trying not to get worried it is there, for my Dh too.

I read on a baby site that avoiding the following can help reduce chances:

Avoid sex for first 12 weeks if your mc was 1st trim.
Alcohol
Caffiene
Hot places / over heating / too much exercise
Stress (easy to say!)

Any other tips would be great ladies ....

Oh and if you feel brave enough i have joined the GFJ drinkers anonymous on the ante natal thread so come on over if you want to, would be lovely to see you

Hi to all you ladies on the bdfest this week - good luck!!

xxx

BeckyMcG · 11/11/2008 13:11

P.s. not sure about the symptoms. I?ve been determined not to look for anything as I?m sure I started to make them up!! This time though if I look back ? I?ve been quite hungry (however that?s nothing new as I?m always on a diet!!), peeing lots and was very emotional on Saturday ? started crying when I couldn?t make our new TV work.

Heebychick · 11/11/2008 13:11

ps what is the earliest you can have an 'early scan'? I am too thinking of having one, will talk to Dr about it as she has been brilliant with cysts etc so far

pinkie08 · 11/11/2008 13:20

Hi Heeby

I am so pleased you are feeling positive, its been a long time since my mcs but that feeling fear is normal.

Due to my recurrent miscarriages they scanned me at 4.5 weeks and saw thick womb and swelling, sac etc but cant hear heartbeat at that stage.

10 days later, they did another and there was dd. I think they can do it from 6weeks.

They can also do 3d and 4d scans but not sure if these show more earlier on.

Hope that helps

BeckyMcG · 11/11/2008 14:19

I have a friend who is a mid-wife. She said you can have an early scan from 6 weeks but they say that at 6 or 7 weeks it?s hard to see anything and they may have to ask you to come back after 8 weeks. I think that would be more worrying than waiting! However from 8 weeks they can definitely scan and see so I am planning to go at 8 or 9 weeks. Mainly because Christmas is for me around 10 weeks and I want to be reassured ahead of that. Asking your GP would be a good call. I have just moved area (From Manchester to Hertfordshire) so need to find a GP and doubt the new one would be sympathetic although maybe they would.
The below site has some info:
www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/scans/whenfirstscanexpert/

Heebychick · 11/11/2008 14:48

That's great thank you, the link is really helpful too.

I had to have an early scan with DD at artound 6 weeks and that was great as we saw a heartbeat.

I am totally paranoid and trying so hard not to be. DH is worried too and says that every time i call he's waiting for bad news.

Am not going to tell Dr until next friday as i'll be over 6 weeks then.

I have another question for you all, i tested on CD26 and got a BFP (my AF due date) so would i be 4 weeks at CD28 or on the CD26 the day i found out and my AF due date?

not sure when to count the weeks as changing thats all.

smileycat · 11/11/2008 16:29

heeby they take your dates from the date of your last period, so you can work it out by counting back from there

spats · 11/11/2008 17:06

THanks for all the sympathy you guys. No more knicker chcking for a few weeks i guess. x

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 11/11/2008 19:46

spats sorry af has gotten you again i know exactly what you mean regarding 'not having to knicker check for a few weeks' on one hand you feel releived that you know where youa are and can 'plan' the next month but then gutted cos you haven't got a bfp.
becky mega congrats to you you must be ver happy.
well i am not a happy bunny today my lo is not settling at preschool and i am feeling very guilty that he is going-tis only 2 days a week but i feel bad.
i am also really upset and cross with myself cos i feel like i 'missed 'my chance this month.
and then i start doing all this weird stuff like telling myself it's cos i'm not meant to have another one, does anyone else do this.probably not.
i know i am so lucky to have my little man and sometimes feel guilty for wanting another.
do you ever dilly dally about whether you are doing the right thing.
god i'm sorry i just feel not nice today i was looking at christmas stuff today and saw all the little snowsuits and it just brought home to me that i would reall like another[sad

Jools1 · 11/11/2008 19:46

Hi ladies

I'm a graduate of the original thread but may be back with you next year

I was supposed to be having my 12 week scan today but instead spent the afternoon having a nasty, scary miscarriage in gynae A&E

Will let it sink in, lick my wounds, eat lots of choc, drink lots of wine and maybe think about doing this all again after Xmas

Good luck everyone

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 11/11/2008 19:50

omg jools i am so so sorry for you.
i hope you will feel ok soon i had a miscarriage and it did'nt actually 'hit' me til maybe a week after it first started. oh i hope yu are ok.

yellowflowers · 11/11/2008 19:50

oh Jools1, am so sorry, have been following your story since just before your bfp. So so sorry. Much love to you. xx

OP posts:
funtimewincies · 11/11/2008 20:05

So, so sorry to hear the news Jools . Really hope to see you here again after a very un-sober Christmas (passes a stiff martinin along) and hugs to you and your dp.

Pezzina · 11/11/2008 20:06

OMG - Jools I'm so sorry to hear that. That is such sad news Huge hugs coming your way (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

Heebychick · 11/11/2008 21:45

Thanks guys re dates, i guess then it will be 4 weeks at 28 days not 26 days even tho that is how short my cycle is? i was confused because i thought you counted back 2 weeks from af due day and then added on 2 as in the UK we count 2 weeks as 4 weeks

As i have a shorter cycle (26 days) i wasn't sure if i'd be 5 weeks today (1 week after AF due day) or on thursday which will be 5 weeks since last period day?

Confusing huh!!
