Hi everyone, setting up a new months thread for those of us who already know weโ€™re out for August. Iโ€™m going on to cycle 3. Hope this can continue to be a place where we can chat and support one another.

Does anyone else get really bad pains when ovulating?
I get really bad pains / cramps way worse than period pains, then I get CM then the pain goes.

It makes it so difficult to DTD when I'm in pain ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Yes! I get the same but hadn't heard of anyone else having it before. I think mine is worse when I ovulate from the right side and it sometimes really hurts to dtd. I thought I might have an ovarian cyst, but had a scan last year which didn't show anything, so I've no idea why it happens!

Mine is worst at the end of getting CM (sometimes I get it for 5+ days before ovulation) so I think it's the actual ovulation rather than the build up. Let me know if you get any answers about it

PBandJellySandwich · 11/09/2025 07:22

I caved and did a test this morning at 10dpo as I felt a bit sick yesterday evening (probably more from eating too much dinner than any pregnancy symptoms!). I think I can see a vvvfl, but I'm not sure if it's still a little bit of left over HCG from the missed miscarriage (I tested negative on the hospital test but they're very low sensitivity). Can anyone else see it?

Ooh I canโ€™t see a photo, can you try and post again?

Muddysocks1 · 11/09/2025 07:27

Re ovulation pain, I sometimes get some twinges/a pulling feeling around my ovary at ovulation time, weirdly sometimes itโ€™s only noticeable when going for a wee!
but I did have a few months of that sensation from ovulation until period which I wondered could have been a cyst, but seems to have resolved itself

Mash0917 · 11/09/2025 08:49

Hey girls, please tell me I'm not seeing things. 10/11 dpo today. Did a test when I got home from work in the evening. Is there really a line?

Angelyoga · 11/09/2025 09:12

Hey @PBandJellySandwich and @Mash0917
I can't see any photos.

blackberryhill · 11/09/2025 09:22

Ready to get my line eyes out for you @PBandJellySandwich @Mash0917 if you can share the pics!

I am so fed up of being on this stupid Cyclogest (and it's only 6DPIUI) - between the cramps, the horrible gas and the fatigue I feel worse than I ever did in my first trimester with #1...

I definitely see the line on this! Looks just like my first positive at 11DPO when I was pregnant with my son.

Oh thank you!! โค๏ธ I'm going to test again tomorrow with fmu

I can see a line!!

Mash0917 · 11/09/2025 09:56

@overwork thank you!! Now I can't wait for morning! ๐Ÿ˜‚
@FunnySam I had a massive BFN yesterday morning. Then this this evening. Did you do another test?

blackberryhill · 11/09/2025 09:59

@Mash0917 you have more self-restraint than me, I'd be doing a four hour hold and testing again at lunchtime! This is why I've spent so much money on pregnancy tests... ๐Ÿ˜‚

The only thing stopping me from doing that is the fear of the line not getting darker. I'm telling myself I have a better chance of seeing a darker line if I wait till morning. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

BFN today, donโ€™t think itโ€™s my month! Not even a hint of a line ๐Ÿ˜‚

CatLady1994 · 11/09/2025 11:33

10DPO today and BFN for me - not even a hint of a line. Think Iโ€™m probably out for this month โ˜น๏ธ

PBandJellySandwich · 11/09/2025 11:37

@blackberryhill cyclogest is the worst! I remember just laying on the sofa after getting back from work and not being able to do anything for the whole evening. I only took it for 2 weeks, but did read that the symptoms can improve a bit with time - hope things improve for you

I caved and took a test today at 10dpo. There's a very very faint line on it, but I'm not sure if it's leftover HCG from the miscarriage (the hospital test was negative last week, but they're but they're very low sensitivity). For some reason I can't add the photo from my phone, but the line is so so faint I'm probably just imagining it anyway!

YKM2829 · 11/09/2025 13:05

Re ovulation pain
Yes I get extreme pain too, worse than period and have to take cocodoamol 30mg/500mg and that's barely touches it half the time, as well as ibuprofen.
I can always tell when I'm ovulating and what side its on from the pain.
And sincey EP surgery I also notice bruising on the scar sites every cycle as well.
However I also have a short luteal phase and pmdd as well, and it all points to low progestrone for me, and for that I take agnus castus vitex and I have noticed a reduction in some symptoms physically and mentally for those issues too.

Marvelftw · 11/09/2025 15:23

Hooray some BFPโ€™s! Iโ€™ve been trying dtd every 2-3 days this cycle but my ovulation seems to be delayed for the first time in a year so thatโ€™s very strange. Probably will mean it will happen over the weekend which is not convenient for a number of different reasons ๐Ÿซ

Also got the results of the scan I had last week but it was full of medical jargon, so am hoping to get some more clarity on that too.

OP posts:
Angelyoga · 11/09/2025 18:25

@Marvelftw I think your chances are good as you've been consistent. With a bit of synchronization it won't be a problem even if ovulation comes in the weekend, although its not ideal.

What about your scan? What did it say?

Muddysocks1 · 11/09/2025 18:52

Just on cyclogest - I did 4 cycles of luteal support and had zero symptoms, so must really vary person to person! I never get PMS though which I think is linked to progesterone? I did worry that it might mean my progesterone still wasnโ€™t great on it, so maybe bad side effects could indicate it raising levels well? ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

amey44 · 11/09/2025 18:58

Currently CD 36 ๐Ÿ˜” I think iโ€™m going to have to make a GP appointment and try figure out why my cycles are so long now. Has anyone experienced this before? Iโ€™m unsure what to expect and am a little scared to see the GP hence putting it off for so long. Itโ€™s just so so stressful.

HayleyD84 · 11/09/2025 20:44

Mash0917 · 11/09/2025 06:09

@CityKity Oh gosh! This is annoying! Hugs! <3

@HayleyD84 I have extreme O pain every month. Painful to a point where all I can do is lie down with a heat pack. And dtd is the last thing on my mind when that happens. I usually take painkillers to numb the pain and then get to the dtd part. :-p Same happened with my dd. The pain actually made me miss dtd on O day a few cycles. Then I started taking painkillers, and I have a 6yo dd now. So this I have started doing it from get go.

Edited

Yes I'm the same, strange isn't it?
At least we'll never wonder if we've ovulated ๐Ÿ™ˆ
