Just trying to get an idea of what the typical range is.

exactly 1 years old

Thepossibility · 13/07/2025 23:56

Just one. I thought it would probably take at least a year + to conceive like it had the first time but no... straight away! Two under two!

ninjahamster · 13/07/2025 23:58

6 months. Fell pregnant straight away.

TomatoSandwiches · 14/07/2025 00:00

4yrs between each child.

NickMarlow · 14/07/2025 00:07

18 months. We were hoping for around a 2.5 year gap. Ended up being exactly 3.5 years!

HariboFantastics · 14/07/2025 08:55

6 years old, he will be 2 weeks away from 7 when baby is here.

Namechangerage · 14/07/2025 08:59

just before 3 years old - 2 miscarriages and then one successful pregnancy - resulted in a 4 year gap. It’s a great gap to have though.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 14/07/2025 09:01

Five years.

mamaduckbone · 14/07/2025 09:06

2 and a half. Fell pregnant fairly quickly so there is a three and a half year gap. Ds1 was a dreadful sleeper so we had to recover a bit before even contemplating number 2! I quite like the age gap.

2chocolateoranges · 14/07/2025 09:07

13 months.

my 2 have a 22month age gap.

becca3210 · 14/07/2025 09:09

Youngest was 2. Ended up being 3yrs 9months gap due to losses but wouldn’t change a thing.

blueskydays45 · 14/07/2025 09:41

7 months

Whywhwhy · 14/07/2025 09:49

Trying at 9 months, found out I was pregnant day after he turned 1

Mushroo · 14/07/2025 09:52

18 months. I actually wanted a slightly larger gap but I thought it would take awhile. Happened first try…

Ifyoulikepinacolads · 14/07/2025 09:54
  1. But took us over 10 years to get our second
GiraffesAtThePark · 14/07/2025 10:11

They were just over 1.5 years old when I got pregnant.

Laiste · 14/07/2025 10:12

Eldest was about 1.

Only took 3 cycles to fall preg so two years between 1st and 2nd.

Very broody for no.3 when no.2 was one year old and again fell v quickly so 2 years between 2nd and 3rd.

Lovely gap - i had three under 5 at one point but was all good as stages all flowed and had all equipment ongoing ect.

Had no. 4 a lot later and had to start again fresh!

All 4 are DDs 😊

My 3 'big ones' are adults now and they're close which is lovely and they spoil their little sister!

It took almost a year to conceive the first time, so we started trying when DC1 was seven months, thinking it would take ages. It didn't, I conceived immediately which was a bit of a shock.

MrsKateColumbo · 14/07/2025 11:12

8 months, I would have started earlier but I wanted them to avoid a july/August birthday if possible in case they weren't school ready at just 4 (i didn't know about deferring at this point)

mummyp1gs · 14/07/2025 11:27

Started trying when my eldest turned 1, fell pregnant when eldest was 19 months old.

I am in the same position, due any day now and it’s reassuring to read this! We wanted #2 sooner but my losses delayed that, and I’ve been worrying about a 4 year gap x
