Hi ladies, sending lots of love to everyone on this journey!

This is cycle one of TTC baby 2, and I could not be less chilled about it. Is anyone else like this? Today is predicted ovulation day, and i've spent the last week fretting over every single ovulation test, it plays on my mind constantly! With our first baby we had a chemical pregnancy, and then fell pregnant the following month with our son, which we were so incredibly lucky for! But I keep telling myself to be prepared for it not to happen as quick this time, at the same time as stressing myself out that it won't.

hollyhocks2 · 11/06/2025 09:40

Gah @ForGiddyDreamer it's crap. Maybe @2Sugars2 will be the one with a positive test today 🤞🏼
Welcome @Gm26 and the answer is YES this is the 'no chill' club. I think a few of us have to down play our lack of chill in front of our DPs so it all comes out here!

Okay thank you for this, I needed to hear i'm not alone! This morning my partner said please try not to stress yourself out over this and I was like ah if only it was that easy! I guess (in my case anyway) he isn't aware of the pressure's of having to taking multiple ovulation tests everyday, scrutinising over every line, then getting through the 2ww looking for anything that could be a symptom, so he will never really understand how stressful it can actually be?

ahhh sorry to disappoint you guys @hollyhocks2 @ForGiddyDreamer but also a bfn over here too! I did spend about 5 minutes though convincing myself I could see the start of a line... you should have seen the angles I was doing with the test strip to try and see it in different light 😂I probably shouldn't laugh at myself but it's either that or cry!

daisy2025 · 11/06/2025 10:04

@YKM2829@ChaE05 I have just changed to b6 p5p in the hope of extending my luteal phase, apparently it’s better absorbed than the normal b6 I was taking! I’m also taking vit C and magnesium alongside many other things 🤞🏼 so frustrating that my doctor doesn’t think a short luteal phase is an issue so won’t prescribe progesterone…

daisy2025 · 11/06/2025 10:06

With OPK, do people hold going to the toilet for 3/4 hours before testing? And can you test at different times of the day if needed?
We’re going on a city break next week and I’m panicking as I know I won’t be able to stick to my normal testing routine!

Just as an update to my potential chemical...

Firstly, thank you for your kind words.
I went to EPU yesterday. They did a scan and couldn't find a pregnancy, she did say this could be for a couple of reasons, one of which is I am earlier in the pregnancy than I thought and it's not showing up, another could be loss or ectopic that is not showing yet. They took bloods yesterday and I have to go back Thursday afternoon.
Positive sign is no bleeding as of yet and I still keep getting positive tests but the negative is I don't think there is any line progression.

So basically, just a waiting game now. I feel more relaxed now I'm doing the blood tests but obviously still fearing and preparing for the worst, I want to be ready if that's the case.

FlyHighSky72 · 11/06/2025 10:40

Sorry to heat @MrsGingerCat- not much help but at least Thursday afternoon isn’t too long away!!

ForGiddyDreamer · 11/06/2025 11:08

@MrsGingerCat I am sorry you are going through this. You'll get a clearer idea come Friday hopefully (if they are redoing bloods on Thurs) and your HcG numbers should provide answers. Easy to say, but try to stop testing. While I hope this is not your case, when I mc in Feb I continued to show as positive on tests for a long time. My HcG rose, but not as fast as it needed, so the tests stayed positive although the pregnancy would not progress.

MrsGingerCat · 11/06/2025 11:52

@FlyHighSky72 @ForGiddyDreamer Thank you both, I'm glad it's only 48hrs wait in-between. It's the waiting that's the hardest, I think I could deal with it either way at this point, I just want to know.
Yes, I stopped testing yesterday, it was doing more damage and I was starting to spiral.
I feel better today, whatever the outcome. It's my first for both, first pregnancy, first(potential) loss, so I'm glad I'm able to reach out to people who understand.

Esssa · 11/06/2025 12:25

Hi everyone I'm just catching up. Thought you'd all gone quiet and then found I'd missed the link to the new thread 🤦🏼‍♀️. I'm sorry to all who have found themselves with the shitty end of the stick again.

I'm 10dpo today and I'm not testing this month. I'm waiting to see if AF turns up this weekend. I've only got one frer in the house at the moment and I'm not wasting it on a maybe. I usually only use a frer to confirm a FL on a cheapie! Interestingly my 2 and 4 year old both told me I had a baby in my tummy this morning but I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm fat!

TTC #3 cycle 6 I think. One 8 week miscarriage and a chemical last month. Taking folic, vit d, b6, 600 coq10, omega 3, aspirin from 3dpo. I'm 37 DH is 45.

ForGiddyDreamer · 11/06/2025 12:36

Can I ask how everyone counts their cycles TTC. Do you reset again after mc? So we got pregnant in February on cycle 3 but that ended in mc. Then we had the chemical March and break in April. So we've been TTC again since May and this (unfortunately I think) is cycle 2 of zilch. Do you count your months from the beginning or from a loss on? I'm just wondering how to phrase to my GP.

Edit. Just because they say 6 months no success see the gp if over 35.

for gp reasons, i’d not reset after a mc x

Thanks @megan345 DP agreed we wait until August to see the GP but we're at 6 months now. I'm going to get the ball rolling next week for myself when I'm back from my trip.

Esssa · 11/06/2025 13:14

I don't reset either. I'd technically be cycle 1 in that case which absolutely isn't right.

I could from the beginning - so I’ve been TTC 14 cycles (it’s longer than that in months but some months we missed, so I told the gp the time in months/years but for my own sanity I go by cycles..) with 2 chemicals

I think the one year/6 months is a guide. You can absolutely go before then if there’s a concern. Eg. If you’ve been TTC 6 months under 35 but you have really irregular periods or strange bleeding, the gp should discuss/start some investigation.

the referral to fertility clinic is different. And that varies between areas. Some reset the clock after miscarriages. Most (or all?) don’t offer assisted conception if you have a previous child but I think can do investigations. So in that basis it’s worth looking online for your areas guidelines.

Thanks @Esssa & @Muddysocks1 Im in Ireland so will find out what the story is here. Moved here a few months ago so navigating a different healthcare system too.

This may be a stupid question but when does a body realise it isn’t pregnant?

Im getting twinges 8dpo/ a few days before my period (which has happened before but not pregnant) and I’m trying to work out what it means

ie could these twinges be signs something is trying to implant, even if it implantation isn’t ultimately successful?

i’m also 8dpo and have some twinges and nausea, i think this early its mostly due to progesterone dominance but i’m not 100% sure, fingers crossed for us both🤞

i already caved and tested today🤣 bfn of course x

so for me I had twinges and sharpish pains around 6dpo above my hip and then moved toward my lower belly. My cm started to change also, also started to feel more nauseated, slight headaches and I was sooo thirsty, soreish boobs and like a constant bloated/heavy feeling in my uterus. Tested at 8dpo, and thought I saw a line but dismissed it as line eyes😂 tested again at 9dpo and got some faint lines, now at 11dpo my lines are getting stronger♥️ I think some people are so In tune with their bodies that they notice any slight change!x

ChaE05 · 11/06/2025 18:05

Has anyone's other half gone ahead and had sperm analysis done via GP? My partner picked up his little pot and told to book appointment with the hospital. He phoned today and its a 2 month wait!! And I won't be referred to the fertility clinic until this is done! 😫 he's going to try some other hospitals tomorrow to see if the waiting lists are any better x

ChaE05 · 11/06/2025 18:09

@ForGiddyDreamerno absolutely not! Count from when you have actually been trying to concieve. And as @Muddysocks1said...it's just a guideline. Have listened to alot of podcasts about this. Also the whole 3 miscarriages until they investigate...one fertility doc I listened to said If you have a miscarriage past the 9 week mark then you should be investigated, even if that is one miscarriage. These things are interesting to know xx

ChaE05 · 11/06/2025 18:11

@Esssabest way not to test! It takes alot of willpower but the testing from 9dpo is just too much isn't it. Best of luck 🥰 Hope this is your cycle!
