I finally worked out how to get the free version of Premom working 😆 I scanned my first test! I’m definitely over excited lol, but it sucks when you feel like there’s nothing to do for most of the month lol.

I think i’ve OV on CD20 the last two months, so I’ll probably do just one test a day for a few more days, and then I’m gonna switch to two or three times to make sure it’s not happening at a different time.

Does anyone else see this VVVFL? Feels different to the easy at home shadows I’ve been getting.

eta: 9DPO and just randomly decided to test, nothing when I tested this morning and had had a cup to tea and been to the loo not that long before so I was a bit surprised to see “something”

Edited

Eeeeek. Yes I can see it!! Looks just like my PreMom ones at 9dpo! Eeeek. Best of luck, hopefully you’ll be joining us on the Feb thread 🙏🙏🙏🙏

thank you and thanks everyone!!! I’m hesitant because it’s SO faint, and I had a chemical a couple of months ago… but it’s definitely something there! Scared to tell husband in case it doesn’t turn into anything else but also want to share with him!

on progesterone because mine is on the low side (25-35), dr said might help and to try for 3 months ☺️

Congrats so happy for you! This is defo a line and if you are on progesterone then that should help xx

Thisisouryear2025 · 06/06/2025 20:07

@Mummysparrow the only advice I can give is on the progesterone being 18, that is not high enough to sustain a pregnancy and it doesn’t confirm successful ovulation. It needs to be above 30 to confirm successful ovulation. My friend had this, she tried for a year and her progesterone came back at 19 and the GP said she was fine, because the normal range is between 13-46, but what they don’t say is it needs to be above 30 for pregnancy. My friend was diagnosed with suboptimal ovulation and had to take letrozole. Took that and it solved problem and she now had a baby. I saw a fertility specialist privately two years ago and he said the same. Please please pester the GP as that is not correct advice to say you have successfully ovulated. You can ovulate and have low progesterone but the egg is not “good” enough for fertilisation. (Words from the fertility guy I saw) I hope you can go back to them to request assistance to get that up some more xx

To jump on this: today I’ve confirmed to have a chemical. I also got results back of my progesterone levels - it was 20. So this confirms what you say, that progesterone level was not viable for a pregnancy.

However, getting supplements for this is usually for after you have 3 losses. My fertility doctor told me generally weak progesterone is the result of weak egg. Good quality eggs naturally produce progesterone needed for viability. So might be useful to look into improving egg quality.

Letrozole might be one of those ways, I’m not sure.

I’m a bit sad about my result. Thanks everyone and good luck

So sorry @Plumchumm:(

I’ve researched loads about progesterone/its link to egg and i think it’s ridiculous you have to wait for 3 losses.

I’m going to try to support my luteal phase with vitex and seed cycling. Medication-wise I have heard letrazole and clomid recommended too.

havent done a progesterone test yet but will do next month to compare shortly after period vs end of month

Congratulations @Muddysocks1 - so happy for you. Crossing everything that it’s a sticky one! 🤞

I’m so sorry, @Plumchumm ❤️

DownWithCremeEggs · 07/06/2025 05:28

Hi all. Joining from the May thread!

I'm 29, DH is 30. TTC #3 since December, already have a DD who is 6 and a DS who is 3. I did get pregnant in April but it sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. My two DC were both conceived first or second month trying so it's a bit deflating that this is taking a bit longer, although I know 6 months is still within the range of normal.

Currently 2DPO but I'm not hopeful this month. DH and I have both been ill so only managed to DTD once during my fertile window. I know it only takes once, but yeah 😆

Thisisouryear2025 · 07/06/2025 06:15

@Plumchumm Firstly I am so so so sorry you have had a chemical, it’s so not fair and soul destroying 😭please be kind to yourself 🩷
Everything you have said though below is correct advice.
Low progesterone is down to a weak egg, which is normally sorted out by a medication to help the ovaries. My friend who I mentioned before, actually the same thing happened to her sister. She actually managed to fall pregnant but had an early loss and they diagnosed her with weak ovulation, gave her letrozole too and she has also now got a 6 month old baby. When I spoke to the fertility specialist I saw, I was convinced back then that I had low progesterone (I didn’t and I was being obsessive) I asked him to give me progesterone to help, he laughed kindly and said, for a start you don’t have low progesterone but secondly if you did I wouldn’t prescribe you progesterone to help. That won’t actually help. It’s the egg that needs help so that it produces it itself.

Im so sorry this has happened to you, can you request that you get some medication to help with this? As from what I’ve seen in two people who have had this issue is that it was resolved very very quickly and both have babies now x

Thank you very much for this.

Getting my result back for this cycle with low progesterone is so unusual for me. I suppose I haven’t tested it before, but I’ve always had 14 day luteal phase, my endometrium was thick (8.2mm thick a few days before I ovulated) and back in October I had a perfectly healthy pregnancy that doubled in time. I ended that pregnancy by choice at 7 weeks due to life circumstances not being right at the time. This was our first month trying again since then.

so I’m not sure what to think, I’m hoping things are fine and this was just a one off?

Bumblebee1984 · 07/06/2025 06:51

@Mummysparrowi definitely see this. And @laurajane07Congratulations
@LookForTheLiightsorry it’s BFN but still no AF. Think sometimes stress can impact your cycles
@Plumchummso sorry to hear this

Thisisouryear2025 · 07/06/2025 06:51

@Plumchumm That’s ok lovely. Well if you had a healthy pregnancy literally a few months back I would probably not panic too much, this could have just been a one off egg. I reckon that can happen to all of us. I would request that they do another progesterone test at 7/8dpo for at least another month or even two if possible. Then if both come back low maybe your body needs a kick start or something and some help.
I also had two terminations before, many many years ago, so totally understand that sometimes we have to make those decisions as it just isn’t the right time.
Don’t beat yourself up about that, I know it’s hard, I often wonder what life would be like if I had kept those babies but I then remember that if I had, life would look very very different now and I wouldn’t have been who I am today where I know I can take care of children better than ever.
It’s odd, I don’t know the link with the length of the LP, the girl I was chatting about in my earlier message had a 12 day LP, so adequate, and she had this issue so I’m not really sure. I guess a LP defect is where your body produces enough progesterone but it drops way too quick? I’m not sure on this but I think it could be different things.
This is your first month, take it easy, try again next month and then ask for another progesterone test and see what that says and you may find it was just that one not so good egg x
