Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

Hey Ladies - how are we all today? I am booked in for a HYCOSY scan on the 1st day of my next cycle - am a bit scared as I've heard it can be uncomfortable but at least its forward progression but it does mean no BDing for that month which will be weird!

Terrier - did af get you or do you have some good news

Katie - hows the plans for reversal going?

WelshLinz - have you got DH booked in yet

KatieDD · 13/06/2008 18:55

Not going great really, he's supposed to be calling to get himself on the list but something keeps coming up :-(
Once i feel I can see progress i'll start getting excited in the meantime everyone is pregnant

pinkmook · 13/06/2008 19:41

(((((KatieDD)))))) My DH got cold feet too....I just booked him in for it over the internet though

Ditto everyone's pregnant. ANOTHER person has just announced they are pregnant at school whyyyyyy isnt it meeeeeeeee I want to take my ball (uterus) home now

Have you decided on a surgeon? If so ask him if he wants you to book it?

welshlinz · 13/06/2008 21:36

Hi all, hubby has got docs appointment on Wed for a referral to the hospital. We have been told as soon as he gets this, the consultant will see him within 7 days and he can have the op within 2 weeks so really feel like we're getting somewhere now. Both really excited so will keep you posted xx

pinkmook · 14/06/2008 11:06

{grin]

Fab News Linz. Definitely keep us posted.

Katie - hows things today?

Terrier - where are you??! Surely you're not doing things in real life

We are watching all 3 early Indiana Jones films with DS today (bought as a fathers day pressie) so all slobbing out on the couch and hiding from the world (also MNing at same time )

KatieDD · 14/06/2008 18:01

Hi girls,
I think he is being quite good, he's spoken to this consultant who again didn't have his diary so Dh has to wait until Tuesday now, but he goes seem to be doing all he can.
I shall be phoning on Tuesday myself though to make sure.
I keep rabbiting on about it but there's lots happened in the last few days, DH got a pay rise which makes everything a lot easier, I saw little Archie which has made me sooooo broody and I've been clearing out the garage and streamlining my pram collection again it baby baby baby and I want one now
Love Indiana Jones btw Harrison at his best

terrier141 · 15/06/2008 19:00

Hi girls, I've spent a few days at my caravan - and a very confusing few days they were too! Af kept faiing to show - so I've got through literally loads of cheapies and 2 cb digi's - still kept telling myself they must ALL be wrong as I have never ever been late, not by even one day! Got very drunk last night and told all dhs friends and wives what we are up to (he wanted it to be a secret!) and that I was 4 days late etc etc. then low and behold I woke up this morning (cd33) and flaming af has finally arrived! Dont know if the stress of trying has pushed me from a regular as clockwork 28 day cycle to 33 day - but now dont know where the hell I am!
Sounds like good news all round for you 3 - 2 op's looking like they could happen very soon, and PM - your scan should hopefully get you some answers! Hope you are all ok x

I'm exactly the same terrier, you used to be able to set your watch by me and now i seem to be getting longer and longer cycles
The only thing with me is I have my little brother living with me (aged 23) and three other kids, we haven't had sex for weeks lol
I have everything crossed for us all, hopefully not long to go now !!!

KellyKateneedsaholiday · 16/06/2008 14:09

hi everyone.
ive been reading this thread with interest cos last night my other half finally agreed to look into a reversal
Ive regreted him getting it done from about a week after the op. He had it done when he was 29, 2 years ago and dc3 was only 3 months old, he got a cancellation so op was done within a couple of weeks.
Hes got an appointment at gps on Thursday to get a referral to the consultant. We are hoping to get it done at the Murrayfield Bupa hospital in Edinburgh (we live near it).
Did any of you tell other people getting the reversal or did you keep it to yourselves. We arent going to tell people as I dont want the constant questionning that i know our families would do.

terrier141 · 16/06/2008 15:09

Hi KellyKate - welcome to our gang - and good luck with it all! My dh doesnt want anyone to know and I can sort of see his point (being very similar to what you said), although Im finding it hard not to tell as Im very excited about it (and if you read my previous post you'll see im useless with secrets - especially when drunk!!).

OP posts:
KatieDD · 16/06/2008 16:27

Welcome KellyKate, sounds like we're in the same boat !
I have a big mouth so have told just about everyone but DH doesn't know that.

pinkmook · 16/06/2008 16:57

Hi KKNAH - welcome to the club we all wish we never had to join

We only told a select few people at first but you just end up telling all and sundry in the end as you get excited and carried away....then people start asking if you are going to have anymore and it slips out....you get the picture

Well girls I have took delivery of my hypnoconception CD today! I am going all new age on your asses!! I figured I may as well give it a bash this month as we wont be able to TTC next month with my scan being booked in for between days 7-13 of my cycle! Wish me luck!

What are the rest of you up to? Anything exciting? I managed to persuade DH to do the jiggy this morning at 5am before we both had to get up for work! I am knackered now LOL

terrier141 · 16/06/2008 18:25

I'm desperately job hunting - looking for something in a school that fits around the kids! Bit of a change - have just packed in my social work training which I was half way through, and also packed in my job as a social work assistant too! I worked out that after paying a childminder and petrol, I was actually getting about 80p per hour and as I only did 16hrs it worked out at about £14 per week! Not worth dragging yourself out of bed for! Then 4 weeks ago my childminder had a heart attack and is no longer able to childmind, so I just handed my notice in - last day this Friday. Now I have the dilemma that I might get pg before I find another job (wishful thinking maybe?!)

pinkmook · 16/06/2008 19:50

There are tonnes of school hours jobs near me - i was actually just looking on the local authority web site today! Pity you dont live near me!

Like you say, I dont think its worth getting out of bed for that kind of money!

welshlinz · 16/06/2008 20:44

hi kellykate, our stories sound really similar ! My hubby had the reversal at age 27 and two years on we are both regretting the decision. We are also going through the whole do we keep it secret thing aswell as we don't want the ' are you pregnant yet ??' question every time there is a family get together. Don't know how we'll get round the time off he'll need to take to recover though and also I HATE lying to my parents as I tell them everything and I'm useless at keeping secrets !!!

Not up to much really today. I work from home so I've got it easy to be honest. Although, ironically I sell maternity wear clothing !!!!!

KatieDD · 16/06/2008 20:50

Pink, I had a Hypno Birth last time with DD it certainly helped me to sleep, not sure that'll helpful in getting you pregnant though, but I throughly recommend the Mognan method for when we all get up the duff.
Terrier I bet if you get a new job that you absolutely love you'll get pregnant instantly it's sods law.

pinkmook · 17/06/2008 07:14

Welshlinz/kellykate - my DH had his vasectomy age 29 with a 6 month old baby - he too was given a cancellation app and rushed into surgery - the worst part, as I have said on here before , is that he now says, if any one (apart from me obviously) had stopped him and said "whoa, hang on a minute, are you sure you want to do this?" He wouldn't have had it done I truly believe vasectomies should not be performed on any one under 35 and definitely NEVER on someone with a baby under 12 months old.

Rant over! KatieDD - the hypnoconception CD is supposed to remove any mental blocks you may have and might help to regulate my cycle (fingers and toes crossed emoticon) I got a lovely hand written note from the lady I bought it from asking me to keep in touch so I hope I eventually get some good news to give her!

Welshlinz - is it your own business? Do you have a website or sell through ebay? I would love to do something like that (not maternity though)but wouldn't have a clue where to source the stock.

terrier141 · 17/06/2008 08:21

Im really into all that "new age" stuff - let me know how you get on with it PM.
I have started using Persona now - thought I'd give it a try.

OP posts:
welshlinz · 17/06/2008 11:09

hi Pink, yes it's my own business called Funky Bumps. Came up with the idea over 12 months ago because my sister in law couldn't find any nice pregnancy clothing where we live. I opened a shop at first in the town centre but soon got sucked into the ebay route as there were no crippling overheads !! Started selling designer wear now aswell cos then I'm reaching all areas and not just pregnant women. I'd recommend opening your own business. I love it cos I work from home, and I suit the hours around me and the family. I've even worked out how to keep it running if and when the new arrival may come along ( how sad I am I ? ) If you want any advice or whatever I'm happy to share x

pinkmook · 17/06/2008 17:57

ooooh welshlinz that's fab! Where did you find where to buy your stock from?? Whenever I've looked into it its always seemed like a really closed shop, unless you can buy tonnes of stock (which I can't afford to do) How much capital did you put into it to start it off?

welshlinz · 17/06/2008 18:05

well because I opened a shop I invested 15K into it so quite a lot !! but if I'd have started on ebay then really its just your ebay fees per month and money for stock. Depending on what area you would like to get into I know loads of wholesalers that are small minimum orders of £ 100 and some don't even have a min order quantity. The great thing is they deliver to your home aswell so don't even have to visit warehouses to pick up my new items xx

pinkmook · 17/06/2008 18:13

Ah right I see - I fancy either doing boys clothes or jewelry. Not sure if there would be a massive market at the moment though - I guess I need to think of more of a niche??

welshlinz · 17/06/2008 21:02

take a look at exchainstorewholesale.com

they may give you some ideas as they do boys clothing etc.

Hubby is seeing doc tomorrow - woohoo !!!!

pinkmook · 18/06/2008 12:27

Welshlinz - has he been yet!!? Any news on an op date!

welshlinz · 18/06/2008 14:47

hi, yes he went this morning. Doc said he should have his consultation appointment through by beginning of next week so back to waiting ( although I guess I'd better start getting used to that ! )
