Hi all,
Starting a thread for people who are TTC/testing in November 2024.

A bit about me. I am TTC#1. I'm 35 and DH is 36, we have been trying since Dec 2023 and this will be our 13th cycle! We've had some basic tests and all seem to be OK, but GP referred us to fertility clinic today. So feel like we're entering the next stage of TTC.

Fertile week is next week. I'm not going to test until a missed period, which will be 14th Nov.

There were a lot of positives in the October thread so hopefully we're as lucky! 💖

Massive congratulations to @TTCIrish ! Yes indeed you sound like you was on it with all the tips and advice!

thanks all! I am trying for my second child. My first is 3 years old and every negative I get I look at him and feel incredibly blessed. Makes me just hold him that much tighter as I know how lucky I am! I lost my second at 19 weeks in august so it’s just that bit emotionally harder. Just trying to not get stressed! Thank you all for your kind words ❤️

Confusedmermaid1 · 03/11/2024 13:14

Not sure what’s happening this cycle.. last cycle was really short, only 21 days and now I’m on CD14 and I’ve barely got a line on the LH tests. Ovu was predicted for Friday and has been pushed on to tomorrow (?) because of the low LH tests but we haven’t managed to DTD all weekend because we’ve been sharing an airbnb with my MIL and SIL, BIL and child with paper thin walls 🙈😂
Been testing twice a day since period ended because of my weird cycle last time so fairly sure I haven’t just missed it 😬 who knows

HollyGolightly4 · 03/11/2024 13:22

Congratulations @TTCIrish

tecc · 03/11/2024 13:47

Hi! I hope I'm okay to join even though we aren't TTC - I don't want to stress my husband out but I need to TALK and these chats were always so lovely when we were trying for our kids. 🥺

We might have had a little bit of an accident where my husband felt like he came 'a little bit' before we got the condom on, didn't really think much of it cause what are the odds. But I'm two days away from my period and I'm feeling weird with some symptoms I associate so much with pregnancy. I'm sure it's nothing but then.. what if?! 😶‍🌫️

rebecca199 · 03/11/2024 15:18

Hey all! We thought my TTC number 2 journey was going on hold due to redundancy from work, but I have just found out I'm one of the few that are staying!!! AND they're letting me keep enhanced maternity benefits after I TUPE to a new company so TTC is back on! So happy!
Cycle day 7 currently

Liyoness · 03/11/2024 20:14

@TTCIrish Congratulations 🥳

@Beanie14 - Not at the 12month mark but I know that every month, I have start with hope and almost hold our breath in the hope that this is the month . I know it feels worst right before AF.
Sorry if this is too intrusive, but have you spoken with your GP about this at all?

@Shellbells44 , give yourself time. Cycle 3 isn’t so bad .. don’t put any pressure on yourself . I know that you feel like because it took 18months with the first, it might take just as long, but every time is different.
I have had friends who have gotten pregnant right away with baby 2# but they struggled with baby 1# and friends who it was the total opposite.

Liyoness · 03/11/2024 20:16

Side Note :- my most recent cycle started on CD19, it’s never been this short. I have had a 2/3day cycle but it’s been heavy and clots, so I don’t think it’s anything but AF.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

TTCIrish · 03/11/2024 20:32

CoolSummer89 · 03/11/2024 12:21

Congratulations @TTCIrish yes I remember you from September. Sounds like you have had lots of great advice. Were you given a diet plan? Or just some things to incorporate into your nutrition. Also great to hear that you were enjoying yourself too 😉

@MyGardenDaisies those timings don’t sound like you have anything to be too concerned about. And as you say it’s early days TTC number 2.

@Shellbells44 oh I just want to give you a hug. 8-11dpo truly is the worst of times especially when you’ve had a long and tough journey. We’re here for you when you need ❤️

The diet plan was basically eat a HUGE variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes, fish, and I cut out all ultra processed foods months ago. Essentially a Mediterranean diet of all whole foods. I am overweight (BMI 28) at the moment and I've been trying so hard to lose weight and this plan has helped that ♥️

Hello
I'd like to join please ❤️
We've been TTC for 2.5 years. I have two DC (11 and 8 and had a miscarriage in between them).

I had another first trimester miscarriage in January this year, and then got pregnant 3 months later and sadly lost our baby girl at 16 weeks of pregnancy in August. We waited two months and this is our first proper month trying again, incredibly anxiously

Aw I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Sending big hugs. I have a very similar situation. My DD is 3 and I also had a loss at 11 weeks in September. It really makes you extra grateful for what you have. We have been ttc number 2 since January, so it makes me realise how lucky we were falling pregnant with our first on my first cycle. Fingers crossed it happens soon for us!! How many DPO are you? X

Beanie14 · 03/11/2024 23:16

@Liyoness yes, we’ve been referred to the fertility clinic but wait times can be up to a year apparently so I’m not holding out my breath. they said most people conceive before they actually get an appointment.
Initial testing on my hormones and progesterone levels were all normal and show that I ovulate so it doesn’t make much sense. Perhaps just really unlucky!
OH if going to ask GP for SA and I’m considering a private scan to check if all ok internally. I had an emergency C-section with my son so not sure if there was any damage like scar tissue which is effecting things. GP doesnt think it’s likely but doesn’t make much sense to catch first time with my son and then nothing for a year. I’m just really doesn’t today sorry for the rant.
Spotting had started so full blown AF tomorrow right in time. Just wanna cry

CoolSummer89 · 03/11/2024 23:42

@Confusedmermaid1 maybe ovulation is holding out until you are somewhere with a bit more privacy 😉 Have you had a loss recently? Maybe your cycles are temporarily a bit irregular

@tecc no harm in taking a test if AF is almost due? Obviously you know your body better than anyone but it could also be you overanalysing symptoms because the possibility is playing on your mind.

@Lemonyfire you are very welcome, i think I recognise your username from an earlier thread. I’m so sorry for your losses, especially one so far along.

Lots of love @Lemonyfire 💐

Lemonyfire · 04/11/2024 06:34

Thank you both. I feel very much like, I can't believe I'm doing this again.
We may have crossed paths in another group @CoolSummer89. I was in the due August 2024 and January 2025 groups, and a couple of loss threads too.
For us, if we have another loss we won't try again, losing our daughter in August was so traumatic it took a while to know if we wanted to again.

Good luck to all xxxx

Butterflygirl23 · 04/11/2024 06:35

I don't know if anyone has any advice but I would technically be 7w today but I started bleeding when I was 5w which I put down to an early miscarriage but I've taken a test 2 weeks later and it's come up this? I know you can still test positive but the line seems darker then it was at 4 plus weeks
I'm going to ring up epu as I rang them when the bleeding started but obviously I was too early to be seen they say

Morning ladies,

Feeling like a prize idiot this morning 😥

Unknowingly made the mistake of symptom spotting big time and convinced myself I was definitely pregnant as all the signs of previous pregnancies and just felt it (I'm normally so certain when it's worked and just feel different when I am)...
BFN this morning on an early response (superdrug own brand)...not even a squinter!

12DPO and AF due today, feel like I should have just waited another day until she reared her ugly head.

Feeling so defeated and sad and then stupid and guilty for feeling this way as it's only our first proper cycle TTC #3 and some of you lovely ladies have been on this journey so much longer.

I'll be sticking around as will be trying again later this month it would seem xx

Sending hugs! It doesn’t matter where you are in your journey, definitely still difficult to see a BFN after hoping so much for a positive xxx

Confusedmermaid1 · 04/11/2024 09:41

@CoolSummer89 you might be right about ovulation because I’ve had a higher result today 😅 if it follows my usual pattern I’ll get peak tomorrow so hopefully we can make up for the few missed days over the weekend anyway

Had a MMC in July so I know it hasn’t been very long really but my cycles seem to be getting less normal for me as time goes on rather than more normal which is slightly worrying me but we will just have to wait and see how the rest of the month goes..

MyGardenDaisies · 04/11/2024 10:27

@Confusedmermaid1 look into myo-inositol. I lost my period due to stress and it was also much longer after some health complications, so my gynaecologist and endocrinologist recommended I take myo-inositol supplement, which is for regulating cycle. It’s non prescription, tasteless pill or powder and has done wonders for me! Pricey around 25£/month, but I will continue on it until pregnant

MyGardenDaisies · 04/11/2024 11:26

Morning!
I am 4/5 DPO and quite enjoying this, as I’ve shifted from waiting to have this window of hope. I know that either it will be pregnancy or AF and upset next Tuesday, so I have this time to have hope and optimism. Not going to test until missed period.

Wondergirl1111 · 04/11/2024 11:31

@Lemonyfire so sorry for your loss 😞💕 sending baby dust for coming months x

@Nico89 sorry to hear this. Happened to me last month... Don't beat yourself up for being hopeful and defo not for testing early! We've all been there - be kind to yourself x

@Butterflygirl23 - let us know what they say! Did you test at all after you thought you miscarried at 5 weeks or is this the first time since then? Still baffles me that we are just supposed to write off losses before 12 weeks. Really hopeful for you!
