You are aloud to be sensitive sometimes. why dont you just tell us, even if its nothing. You will feel better for sharing.

kayzisexpecting · 17/04/2008 12:22

You can tell us. Wait until you are pg. I was nearly crying about a duck asleep in a car park last night.

luvingtinkerbell · 17/04/2008 12:23

ptwg that is a great idea to save for both then you get a gorgeous ring and money for baby bits
pushing daisies was great quite different, funny really addictive
bbw sorry that you are teary

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/04/2008 12:27

I know Tink, I was happy woth that compromise. For all I know it will take ages to get pg and this is far too premature but I like to feel that I am planning the finances ready.

Broodybabywannabe · 17/04/2008 12:29

i will tell all later, as am at wrk atm, playing i think your DP sounds lovely!!

kays i already cry at that type of stuff!1

Hope you're OK BB?
LOL at 'mumsnet consensus' . Agree, the rules generated here are usually excellent guidelines to follow .
V.jealous of your trip Kay - and child-free too, could it be better? And you are having that glass of champagne I hope?
Will def. try out Pushing Daisies - sound me sort of thing!
On the smear front, it is v.much a postcode lottery as to ages etc. It used to be from when first sexually active (ie, 16 )but then evidence suggested that even if there were abnormailties they would take 5/10 years to develop into anything serious, so 25 was decided to be the 'right' age. More a cost-cutting exercise that following scientific guidelines I think! Glad mine is out of the way - that speculum felt massive! (think that is a good thing??) - she also kept it in there while she went to put the sample away, requiring some work on the pelvic floor front to keep it in I can tell you. Better than it squelching out though!

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/04/2008 13:18

Oh yes, that sounds fun Deige. Last time I went for a smear I was told I had a nice neat little cervix , not sure if thats good or bad

Diege · 17/04/2008 13:24

Ooh, she didn't say anything about mine, though took her a while to find it . May develop cervix-envy here Playing!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/04/2008 13:44

well I'n not sure it being described as neat and little is a good thing, I mean a baby will have to get out of there somehow!

Diege · 17/04/2008 14:36

No, neat and little is good, trust me.. Mine was pootentially too little with dd3, after having had a cone biopsy where they cut a bit out, so had to be monitored for cervical incompetence and if necessary, put a stitch in. Luckily all was fine .
No Nat today?? Hope you're feeling better, though suspect migrane has taken a hold if they're anything like mine . Take care!

kayzisexpecting · 17/04/2008 14:55

I am looking forward to it but I am dreading leaving DS behind.

I have just woken up. DS and I just cuddled up and fell asleep on the sofa. I know I shouldn't but I just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/04/2008 15:33

Kay, pg ladies are allowed to nap whenever they want

Deige, I shall take your word for it!

kayzisexpecting · 17/04/2008 15:57

They say you shouldn't fall asleep on sofas with babies. But I suppose he is more of a toddler now and I would know if I rolled over. But knowing my luck if I did roll over it would have been onto the floor and not DS.

happynappies · 17/04/2008 16:21

Afternoon all - haven't been around for ages again... but ttc due to start in, um, 21 days (and counting). This is really bad but I keep forgetting to take my Folic acid with evening meal, I asked about this before, I can take it at other times can I? Sorry for boring questions... am ttc bore...

happynappies · 17/04/2008 16:25

PTWG just read about your DH and eternity ring idea - he sounds lovely. I 'hinted' to my DH that birth of our first child might warrant a special gift. Day after she was born he turns up at the hospital with a chocolate cookie and a newspaper... that was it. Will drop more hints this time - think perhaps your DH should speak to him!!!

luvingtinkerbell · 17/04/2008 16:36

i had my last smear when my dd1 was 6 months was dreading it as birth horrid she took ages to find my cervix 2!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 17/04/2008 16:40

Hi Happy, welcome back.

I take my folic acid whenever I remember, whether thats right or not I dont know.

DH is a sweetie, he thought that the symbol of an eternity ring on the birth of our first child was "the right thing to do", you know to re-affirm his life-long commitment to his new family. It is lovely, just expensive, he is terribly bad with money and would happily spend it all on me too, I constantly have to stop him buying me things as he will run up huge debts. I am not joking, he has done it in the past, he can't even have a debit card anymore and I am the one who know controls all the money!! Its all done because he wants to always do the best by me but he is only really starting to realise (its taken 10 yrs) that that doesnt always been buying me things. But on this occassion as it is important to him I am going to let him save up for one despite my inclination to save every penny we can!

lardylumps · 17/04/2008 17:20

evening ladies hope you are all well.... Lovely dh playing all I got was a balloon...

Ladies I have a ummmmm TMI question. I am on cd24/28 and am feeling a bit ummmmmmm (i am not good at this stuff) well a bit wet down there (you know where i mean dont make me say it). What is it???? Could it be a sign of anything???

lardylumps · 17/04/2008 17:28

I am quiet shocked at smear tests being done on ages in some areas. Here you have to have one every 3 years if you are sexually active regardless of age.

In fact my sisters docter told her DSD that she should have them as she was using tampons even though she was not sexually active..

Broodybabywannabe · 17/04/2008 17:43

evening all

not sure what was up with me today every lil thing was makin me teary manager said a joke about somethin and it made me nearly cry!! arg hormones eh!!!

anyway feeling much better now!
LL i wld take that as a gd sign but im an eternal optimist.
