Can people tell me what they think of this. A boots test, AF due in 3 days. I did this with FMU. It has colour but it showed up after about 4-5 mins when it says 3 mins? Don't know what to think.

@TTCnewbies I think many tests say discard after 10 mins. It wouldn't have time to dry in 4-5 mins so I'd say it's positive. Also it's a strong red line so it's looking good.

If you can you could always take another to be sure.

Thank you. I did another yesterday evening and it has a similar line but that was only holding a wee for about 2 hours so I don't know what to think! I might just wait it out til AF due and then do one. What is the best test to take in terms of accuracy on the day?

on the 1st response one I swear I can see the faintest bit of colour but I really don’t want to get my hopes up 😔

@TTCnewbies it's meant to be FMU as that's when it's most concentrated, but tbh a line is a line.

@TTCnewbies and @Holl89 i think you both have bfps 🥳

8DPO is not 7, and 7 is not possible. Best you can get is an up 6days early test. Even then at 8DPO accuracy is less than 50%.

And I'm not surprising considering most people's DPO are estimations at best.

@Outliers so you're saying at 23:59 at 7dpo you would test negative and 00:01at 8dpo you would suddenly have a faint line?

You can implant anytime from 5dpo, though most implant 7-8 dpo. Not every egg implants at the same time. And ovulation takes places anytime during the 24 hours of ovulation day. Therefore it is not 100% impossible. It might just be 0.5% possible or 1% but not 0%.

As I said it's very unlikely that was a real line and most likely an indent. However on the evening of 7dpo is within the tiniest realms of possibility. So please spread your negativity elsewhere.

There's nothing negative about facts. I actually think it's more negative and torturous that people exclaim they see line on apparently negative.

Re your question, on 8DPO, I'm actually saying the opposite. Even if one observes a faint line, the accuracy of the result is very low until 12DPO onwards.

We can agree to disagree, test to your heart's content. In any case, I genuinely hope it turns out to be BFP. Good luck

@Outliers comments on most conception threads and is incredibly to the point and factual. I'm sure they're not meaning to be negative, just hoping to manage expectations. I believe 7DPO can be possible (either due to ovulation estimation - as you say there's a 24/36 hour window when the egg pops so hard to pinpoint!).

I agree with @ThelastRolo20, I have lost my temper about @Outliers posts before but I don't think they mean any harm. Just being rational in let's face it an irrational time for most of us as we really all want our bfps :)

Waaa! I got this this morning!
Am on day 48 of cycle, I think ovulation was delayed for about 2 weeks due to taking pregnacare conception. So I was testing and got loads of BFN around 2-3 weeks ago when AF was due, then haven't tested for ages just been waiting for my cycle to start again (and sacked off pregnacare). I just tested today after I had some vivid dreams and something made me test. Been trying for 12 months this December so I am stunned and daren't believe it!

What do people think of the clear and simple tests?

I posted here on Sat, I had 2 lines on a boots test. Everyone said BFP. Clearly colour in them. I've just done a cheap clear and simple test strip and it's stark white. I'd have thought there'd be a little line given it's been over 2 days since I had a seemingly BFP. It wasn't first morning urine. It was after 3 hours hold.
