Hi ladies
My first post here.
Wondering if there is anyone else on a similar journey to me who wants to chat and swap advice/support!
I just turned 40 in December. I have a 21 yr old DD, 20 yr old DS and 10 yr old DD. That’s me done I thought! But met the man of my dreams 2 years ago..got married last November! And we have decided we would quite like a baby together!
Never planned or TTC my children so not been along this path before and of course age is no longer on my side! DH is 48.
I had the coil removed in July last year then before the wedding I made the stupid mistake of having the depo to stop my periods for the wedding/honeymoon and because we had decided not to try at that point. I had the depo end of September and didn’t have another. No AF yet. Did get some faint lines on OPK’s last month but I understand the line needs to be dark?
so that’s me..hoping for AF soon to start my TTC journey but gutted realising it could take some time..and time is ticking on ⏰😬

Hello. I turned 40 in December. Had a baby DD Oct 2022. This is to a new partner who is 49 and had no previous children. I already have DS 16 and DD 14 from previous marriage. New partner and I had a loss at 24 weeks in Nov 2021 and subsequent pregnancy approx 2 months after resulted in rainbow DD that was born in Oct 2022. I plan to try again and hope to possibly be lucky enough to TTC again in the next year. I used OPK and was taking conception vitamins when trying for new pregnancies. As you say, very different to when you are younger and things just happen!!! Here for a chat any time 😊

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 00:59

I'm so sorry for your loss that must have been devastating. Glad you got your rainbow baby. Looks like we may be TTC at the same time then! Would be nice to have someone else to compare things with etc!

Hi, I'm early 40s and although not actively ttc I am having reason to wonder if I'm pregnant.
So I'm at the stage of testing and testing and testing 🙈 Like you I thought I left all this behind long ago!
This is my latest one but I've also had negatives on other brands. Hope you get your bfp soon and congratulations on the marriage!

@Inkypot ooh I can see the line! Congrats!
😊hoping for af to come asap so I can start plotting 🤣

Thank you, though I'm now less certain as Clearblue digital says not pregnant. Definitely having a lot of symptoms, now worried it's menopause beginning instead.
Will keep everything crossed for you! 🤞

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 18:45

@Inkypot oh that's confusing. Have you had any symptoms?

OP posts:
Inkypot · 22/02/2023 20:32

Yes a fair few. Nausea, exhaustion, insomnia, cramping, a kinda pulled muscle feeling around my section scar, and noticing normal things smell really strong to me (like washing powder etc). The nausea and lightheadedness are the strongest symptoms at the moment x

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 20:35

@Inkypot certainly sounds promising. Maybe give it a few days and test again? Is your AF late?

I haven't had an AF since 2014 due to having the coil so it's tricky to judge the timing. Will see if any positive lines next day or so x

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 20:54

@Inkypot ah similar to me due to coil then depo. Let us know how you get on!

Inkypot · 22/02/2023 20:55

Thank you, I will keep you updated.
How are you feeling about ttc? It's so exciting!!

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 21:37

I was adamant I wasn't having more children then when discussed with DH I was kind of 50/50. Now I've decided to actually give it a go I'm really excited but also nervous. I really hope it happens for us. I'm scared it won't!

OP posts:
Inkypot · 22/02/2023 21:41

I really hope it happens for you. I know what you mean, it's a funny feeling when you know you've ruled it out and then there's this sudden urge to try once again. I don't think we'll actively try again if I'm not, will leave it up to fate X

MrsJonesey · 22/02/2023 22:01

Well fingers crossed for you either way!x

MrsJonesey · 23/02/2023 01:30

I know quite a few ladies who had children at 43,44 and 45
I’m desperate for a child unfortunately, my left fallopian tube is blocked
I really hope I can have a child one day I turned 44 yesterday

MrsJonesey · 23/02/2023 02:11

You do know the 1 red line means not pregnant aswell as it says on sticks

Funny enough yes I do 🤨 You do realise there js a very faint second line on the FRER? Perhaps it is less clear in the photo than it js in real life of course. Or were you just being rude for the heck of it? 🙄
But thank you for taking the time to suggest I might be too dim to know how to read a pregnancy test. Cheers for that.
