So wonderful to hear this @Welshlady89 really hope everything goes really well for the rest of your pregnancy xx

Maxime34 · 24/12/2022 15:29

Hi ladies, can I just check how much progesterone everyone is taking? I read in my notes that I was to take 400mg cyclogest once a day in the evening but then I looked at the complex plan again today and noticed it says 2 pessaries so now I'm worried I've not been taking enough. @Annie808 what amount are you taking?

MyEasterEggs · 24/12/2022 15:33

@Maxime34 I have one morning and one in evening. Just about to begin tapering though. Try not to worry I find the cyclogest really effective so just up it now if that’s what’s in your plan.

Maxime34 · 24/12/2022 15:52

@MyEasterEggs interesting is that the complex plan? It's just a bit confusing that the plan says something different to my personal notes... I suppose I could up it and it probably wouldn't do much harm. Thanks for replying!

Freybae · 24/12/2022 15:55

Hi @Maxime34, I definitely have to take 2 in the evening on the complex plan which is 800mg in total. I've had a few mistakes on my notes and have had to call the clinic to check. You are right, I don't think it will do any harm to up your dose and if you send an email hopefully they can get back to you once they open again after Xmas X

Maxime34 · 24/12/2022 16:05

Thanks @Freybae that's very frustrating though, given the cost you wouldn't really expect those kinds of mistakes! I'll up it to two this evening. Thanks so much ladies, this is exactly why this forum is so helpful xx

Freybae · 24/12/2022 16:07

@Maxime34, really frustrating! Yes, so true, makes you feel not so alone. X

Annie808 · 24/12/2022 16:17

@Maxime34 I have also been taking two each day. Think I just read take two in the eve! But it will be fine to up it at this point for you, lots of women don’t even start taking the progesterone until they get a bfp so I wouldn’t worry xx

Maxime34 · 24/12/2022 16:28

Thanks lovely @Annie808 I'm really glad I asked!

Maxime34 · 30/12/2022 08:38

11dpo and bfn for me, feeling really disappointed even though I know falling the first month trying on the plan is probably rare, you can't help but hope can you. Hopefully next year will bring a positive. Sending strength to everyone testing or waiting, it's a real mental load and we all deserve our miracle babies.

Annie808 · 30/12/2022 11:00

@Maxime34 same for me sadly! I’m also on dpo 15 and still waiting for my period to start, usually I have a 13/14 day luteral phase, so guessing the extra progesterone has lengthened it. Has anyone else experienced this? Just want a new cycle to begin now!

Maxime34 · 30/12/2022 12:38

Sorry to hear that @Annie808 I'm assuming the progesterone does lengthen it a bit which is annoying. I'm due to come on tomorrow but it'll probably be next week some point. Fingers crossed for next month 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Maxime34 · 01/01/2023 13:19

AF still not arrived... Very annoying. How are you getting on @Annie808 ? hoping it comes in the next few days so I can start a new cycle. Did others find that being on progesterone massively lengthened cycles?

Annie808 · 01/01/2023 16:25

@Maxime34 ah yeh it’s annoying when you just want to get started on a new cycle! Mine arrived last night, on 16dpo so it delayed mine by 2-3 days. Not long in the grand scheme but felt like forever!

Maxime34 · 01/01/2023 18:09

@Annie808 ah that's good to know, glad you can start a fresh, I'm sure mine will be along soon then!

comingsoon786110 · 02/01/2023 16:04

Hello all!

Wishing you all a happy new year filled with rainbow babies!

Quick question for anyone on pred. Do you start taking in on the day of your LH surge or the day after when your egg is due to be released.

I got peak fertility today on the clear blue ovulation test but im not sure if im supposed to start taking the medication today or not!

Thanks in advance

Hayley220 · 02/01/2023 23:17

Happy new year all 💕

I am about a week away from my nhs appointment with Epsom general hosp to see the results from my nkcells blood test. I just dont know what to think as I recently found out my latest loss was Trisomy 10, this was missed miscarriage no 3. I have a healthy 2 year old. I really dont want to have another loss, but i so desperately want a sibling for my child. I am awaiting parental karyotyping so I think there won’t be anything else left to test once these come back, I have so far had no diagnosis for me, only thing was the Trisomy. Im worried its my egg quality (36, 37 in 4 months). I am wondering if all my losses were chromosomal. Every consultant I speak to says nk cells are not likely and not enough evidence.. but why would epsom hospital be offering it if there was no proof in it!? I wont be seeing dr Shehata it will
likely be another dr. No real point to this post just feeling a bit overwhelmed with the new year and worry of losing another pregnancy.

StillTrying10000 · 03/01/2023 07:10

I’m sorry to hear so many of you are still battling through.

I thought it might be helpful to update you that after more than 10 losses (I stopped counting), I have given birth to a beautiful little girl thanks to a drug called Tacrolimus and Dr S.
My waters broke at 35 weeks and although I was given antibiotics within the hour, she was born with a chest infection. We don’t know if she had an infection causing my waters to break or she caught it in the 24 hours between my waters breaking and me giving birth. It’s the same situation as my 2nd trimester loss which Dr S said is likely caused by an immune response in my body.
She has a heart murmur and jaundice which any early baby could have but she did also have some issues with her kidneys. We were worried this was caused by the Tacrolimus but thanks to topping up her feeds so she was really hydrated she recovered well and her kidneys are now working.
I really hope that maybe this drug could help some of you as I had tried everything I could and had thought I’d come to the end of the road when we came across it.
Any questions give me a shout.
Best wishes to you all on your journeys, I think about you all often. Sending love xxx

Wonderful news @StillTrying10000 congratulations, I hope it's all smooth sailing from now on for you all

Sophi81 · 03/01/2023 15:44

Hi everyone. I hope everyone is all doing well. Sorry I have not been in touch as there's been quite a lot going on. Hopefully I will update you in the next few posts. I can see there are congratulations in order for some of you 😃. And for those who are still waiting I have my fingers crossed for you that this year brings you the miracles that you are have all been waiting for xx

Sophi81 · 03/01/2023 15:59

@Sezmarelda1 how was your scan on the 28th? Mine was a quick one as I didn't know then consultant at CRP. I think she was covering the holiday period. But she was happy with what she could see.

@VenusStarr hope all is well. It is hard and it's so sad that we have no control over this 😩. Im so sorry you have to go through this. have my fingers crossed for you. My husband took impryl for 3 months before we started trying and it did work so hopefully it will for you both too xx

@Freybae sorry to hear this. I can say I was getting pregnant very easily before I went to see Dr S. luckily I even got pregnant on my first SO cycle with my first child with CRP. My problems started when I wanted to try again. I really thought it was going to be as easy as last time but it wasnt. It was horrible. I needed up on 7 SO's and so many meds and procedures to check ovaries. I even ended up in a&e with over stimulated ovaries. I just could not understand what the problem was. And when I would ask I would get told its most likely my age! It was a stressful year but finally I got pregnant 9 months later whilst I was on no meds on a break. Obviously it's still early days so anything is possible but it was definitely a horrible year for us!

Sezmarelda1 · 04/01/2023 10:24

I'm glad your last scan went well @Sophi81 , when is your next scan and how far along are you now? My scan went well too, I haven't got another scan until early Feb, which is the longest I'll have gone between scans in this pregnancy. I'm 28 weeks along now and feeling regular movement which is really reassuring. The fear of it all going wrong still hasn't left and I'm not sure it will, but it's definitely easier day to day now that I can feel plenty of movement.

Sorry to hear about the trisomy 10 diagnosis @Hayley220 . I guess in some ways that's at least given you an answer for the cause of the MC in your last pregnancy, although heart-breaking nonetheless, and still doesn't give you answers about the two other losses. Good luck for your appointment at Epsom, I would persue the NK theory even if most medical staff don't believe in it, although I suspect many of us here will be biased. The problem with miscarriage research is there are likely to be many different causes of miscarriage, which can make it difficult to get clear evidence in observational studies and clinical trials. I wouldn't agree with anyone who says there is no evidence of NK cells playing a role in miscarriage, just that at this stage the evidence is still unclear and not strong enough for widespread acceptance. And when all other standard miscarriage tests come back normal what else is there but to look at the more cutting edge/yet-to-be proven research?

Hi all,
It's really nice to see some positive posts here and that scans are going well @Sezmarelda1 @Sophi81 and also your update @StillTrying10000

I wonder if anyone had any similar experience to me? I have a first appt with Dr shehata soon. We have unexplained infertility and repeat implantation failure since having my ivf son 2yrs ago. We struggle to get pregnant in the first place but have also had 2 v early mcs over the years (1 natural, 1 ivf). I'm sort of thinking ivf isn't fixing whatever our problem is even though it did give us our son.

But would there be any point trying any of the Dr s plans naturally? From what I've read it seems his plans don't tend to speed up actually getting pregnant as many people he sees seem to fall pregnant easily but sadly miscarry. Has anyone fallen pregnant more quickly trying naturally (or with his cocktail of drugs) naturally whilst on any of Dr S' plans?

Welshlady89 · 05/01/2023 08:21

@Zest11 Hello Zest. It took me 8 months to fall pregnant naturally the first time, and then after each miscarriage I fell pregnant each month we tried. We waited a whole year before starting Dr S's plan, and I fell pregnant the very first time on his cocktail of drugs.

He diagnosed me with high TNF-A cells, and I took a drug called Humira twice (two injections 2 weeks apart). He mentioned that high TNF-A cells would make it harder to get pregnant. This is perhaps why I fell pregnant so easily on his plan - because he lowered my TNF-A cells. Alternatively, it could just be luck. Either way, I am now 11 weeks pregnant, the futhest I have ever got. We have our 12 week Nuchal scan next week. I am counting down the days...
