@beckyCarlos hope you’re feeling ok today, I know it’s not likely x

@99pctpractice my friend has DE twins

I heard from one, the other outcome is due next week. Because I’m a crazy person they offered me the job and I was trying work out if they’d filled the manager’s position. It didn’t seem clear to me. So I emailed and asked if they’d let me interview for it if it remains empty 🤪. They might say no, but I thought it was worth a go.

I haven’t been able to even think much about the transfer but once again I feel quite strongly it hasn’t worked. I got annoyed yesterday because Guys keep sending me a bill. I had one fresh and two frozen embryo transfers funded. I have had three frozen because I had that anxiety episode after EC and couldn’t have my fresh. I don’t think it’s ok that they’re trying to invoice me for a whole transfer? Just because it wasn’t fresh? Surely it should be the cost of freezing and thawing at most? Anyway, this stupid accounts woman copied in the doctor even though I’d already explained to twice I had only had three transfers as records should show, I sent a very blunt/rude? email back which isn’t ideal but I was really frustrated, I thought it had been resolved a couple of weeks ago.

Today is not going well so far! OH must have been so under pressure couldn’t produce a sample and he tried second time and got a teeny weeny bit. This delayed us by 20 mins (was asked to produce sample at home). Also there was no parking this morning so OH dropped me off to go find alternate parking. Currently in the waiting room. Hope he’s got some in there! Really nervous!

@jeaniej thank you x x x hope you're doing ok!
@thislittlebird omg thats amazing! Good on you for asking! You get nothing if you dont ask after all. Take that energy and channel it in to dealing with your cheeky rob dog clinic! Surely as you say there should be a small difference at best, not a whole round?!
@tinkerbell098 oh no, hope it gets better! I know men dont have to do much, but I expect that turns into this huge pressure of 'this is the ONLY thing I have to do and I cant even do it'. Hope youre both doing ok now, hopefully not too long to wait for you x

Hope it got better @Tinkerbell098

I feel weird today. I’m probably anxious but I woke up feeling a bit sick, but also hungry, and then I eat and feel better and then I feel mildly sick again and so on. Anyone here had Cyclogest or other progesterone cause this? It’s annoying me

Not heard from the clinic about the stupid invoice, hopefully they leave me alone.

how are you today?

Ok the anxiety slash nausea feeling seems a bit better when I’m out of the house, not sure what that means but maybe it’s the stress

Thanks girls. Still feeling a bit groggy. They collected 5. I won’t know until tomorrow how many were mature/fertilised. It was such a stressful morning just getting there and with the sample. The cannula really hurt and now the hand is so painful and bruised and a weird colour.

@thislittlebird hope they sort out the invoice soon for you. That sounds so stressful! No experience with cyclogest, not getting your hopes up, but those symptoms sound very close to pregnancy symptoms. When is test day or are you going to test early?

@beckyCarlos hope you’re feeling a bit better today X

@thislittlebird sorry forgot to answer your question- he wasn’t given a choice, was asked to produce sample at home before we arrived at the clinic. They didn’t even take it off us until an hour after we arrived so we were just keeping it under the coat trying to keep it warm so the tiny bit we did have wouldn’t die 😂😂

beckyCarlos · 23/09/2022 17:59

@tinkerbell098 jeez that sounds stressful! 5 is a good number!! Have you got a nice takeaway on the cards for tea? Im so hit and miss with cannulas, last time the sister blew a vein on my right hand, but on the left it went straight in and didnt feel it or leave a mark. Yesterday it was rushed af, I got cannulated on the table by the anaesthetist, and it hurt like arse, nurse took it out when I left (which weirdly didnt hurt) and lo and behold the vein has gone 🙄 if it helps, in my experience it only hurts for anout 24 hours unless you catch it or something, but it will look bad for about a week as you get all the colours of the rainbow!

@thislittlebird I felt genuinely nothing on cyclogest 🙈 but after my first (unofficial) test, I did start feeling ill if my belly was empty (nothing like I expect 'real' morning sickness to be though, just a hint of something). So I'd have been on cyclogest for maybe 7 days at that point?

Im feeling much better today, although I did cry in the Coop 🤣 a mum was talking to her baby how I imagine I would (narrating the whole shop, talking about their plans) and the bloody camera of the self service machine got it in all its glory 🙈 honestly. Walking past all the kids going to primary school was fiiiine. Le sigh.

Tinkerbell098 · 23/09/2022 19:20

@beckyCarlos yes taking the cannula out didn’t hurt for me either, but going in OMG!! My mum gave me some food last night to have today so that’s a treat 😃 if I feel a bit better today might go for breakfast at a cafe we both love. Really nervous for that phone call tomorrow morning.
aww bless you! I know I feel sad every time I see parents with young kids like in the park as if would I ever have that? It’s really depressing and been a long journey. Never seen a BFP in my life so I tested the trigger yesterday to even see what it would feel like. Failing at TTC is just so heartbreaking and IVF is a whole new level! Lots of love to you and hope you’ll pull through this X

@beckyCarlos thanks! Yes it worked the very next morning and I only used a cheapie. Faint, but it was an obvious clear line.

thislittlebird · 23/09/2022 22:54

@Tinkerbell098 oh god, they didn’t take the sample off us either and it stressed me out. I was carrying it in my bra and wrapped in a sock! Did they give you an update on his sample? was this nhs? Did you get the tea and biscuits? I know if you’re private you might get more food!

5 is good news, keep us posted.

I feel lucky to have had a good/east EC experience. It was all ok but I did stress to them that I’m a very anxious patient and needed to be fully unaware of what they were doing. I’m just a bleeder. Whenever they remove the cannula or a needle from drawing blood I bleed like a bugger, without fail it goes everywhere after cannulas are removed. Luckily I wore black to EC.

Test day is 29th but I’ve never made it that far before tbh. Usually I get to 8dp5dt and I’m out, either a migraine or my period starts. So that’s Monday for me, bit of a stressful milestone.

@beckyCarlos I think i mainly get sore boobs on Cyclogest, whereas normally I don’t and obviously each time I’ve had sore boobs but a BFN. No sore boobs this time, and I’m on 3 Cyclogest per day. There’s no rhyme or reason to any of this!!!!

What dpt was your first (unofficial) test? Obviously I hate testing and avoid it like the plague. I started Cyclogest last Wednesday I think, so a few days before transfer. I’ve decided it must be job anxiety, I felt a bit better after I did an Honest Guys meditation and had a nap at lunch, and felt mostly ok again after dinner tonight.

Crying in the Co-op seems like a perfectly normal one to me, nothing to see here! Standard infertility procedure!

@thislittlebird I'm the opposite 🤣 my veins 'roll', I'm hard to stick, and I once watched blood drip, literally drip, out, barely filling the piddly vial they were using. I get awful boob pain without fail every cycle...apart from my positive. Like you sat, no rhyme or reason! I had my transfer on a Saturday and I think I tested the following Sunday because I had period like cramps (and somehow only then did I realise that that would be when my period was due, I assumed it'd be due on OTD, this was very naive...) and I got overwhelmed with this feeling that I needed to know if the cramps were a period and I should just cry, or if they were anything else.

Report
thislittlebird · 23/09/2022 23:24

@beckyCarlos oh yeah that is the opposite. Mine are a breeze, they never have to try twice or anything, in goes the needle and out comes the blood and keeps on coming 😂. The last two times I’ve been put out it’s ended in blood running everywhere post cannula removal, and I usually bleed a bit after a blood test too.

So sounds like you were 8dpt? That’s my mountain, I can’t get past the bugger because my literal phase is 13 days. It’ll be Monday as I say, so I know I have a stressful few days ahead. Will probably get past it this time because of the extra progesterone 🤪

I think I’m going to book a hotel in York tomorrow for early December, found the train tickets today and will book soon. Recommendations welcome! Hotels aren’t cheap, that’s for sure. I have a Yorkshire village for a surname so I’d really like to go to that village but this is not that trip lol. Will have to do a rural one another time and have a gander.

Just reading through the messages and Wow, what a roller coaster of a few days ladies!

Firstly, I'm super sorry you had no eggs retrieved @beckyCarlos 😞. You are being so incredibly brave xx I love that you are positively looking forward to your next steps xx

@Tinkerbell098 5 is excellent, fingers crossed the you get a decent number fertilised tomorrow too 🤞

@thislittlebird congrats on the job!! Exciting!! A holiday in York sounds lovely. I've never been but heard great things.

I had my baseline scan today. 16 follicles on one side and 17 on the other. It's a lot (not a good thing). So we're reducing my stims dose from day 4 to try and reduce the number of eggs (and hopefully increase the quality). I start my injections tomorrow evening.

In other news, my elderly neighbour Margaret had a panic attack tonight and was scared someone was in her house, so now she's sleeping in my spare room... I hope it doesn't become a regular thing 😬

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 11:58

@Kay00 hope the new dose would work well. Good luck with stimming! Do you do the injections yourself?

update from me- all 5 collected have been fertilised! I was in tears as was so anxious this morning waiting for the call. Fingers crossed they make it all the way!

thislittlebird · 24/09/2022 12:00

@Kay00 that's good that they're reducing stims. What has your protocol been these two times? I was only on 150 goal f and then fyremadel and it worked well enough to get 3 embryos. But I do wonder what the outcome will be if a private clinic boosts the doses.

Oh dear, poor Margaret......let's hope she feels better fast Confused

I've booked our York trains now! Just need to see how much I'm willing to spend on a hotel, probably not tons with the private ivf starting.

@thislittlebird yes I think about 8dpt, I just got so freaked out about the cramps I was like a crazy person, I HAD to know. I've never stayed in York (live too close) but friends have stayed in the Guy Fawkes which is nice (and I dont think too expensive).

@kay00 woof thats a big number! Your poor ovaries! Glad the clinic are being sensible and responsive, fingers crossed it goes well 😊 poor Margaret, how is she this morning? Im in awe of your spare room being ready for visitors, my spare bed is under what looks like all of our clothes.

@tinkerbell098 thats amazing! What a relief. You can relax and enjoy your weekend a bit more now 😊

My fur baby is 5 today, not quite sure where that time has gone (thanks covid and fertility) but I'm just off to the pet shop to get him lots of treats and a new toy or two 😍 he had scrambled egg for breakfast, and we're going on a long wood walk tomorrow (weather isnt looking great today and he doesnt like to get wet away from the house, at home he'll lie outside in a downpour lol)

@beckyCarlos happy birthday to your fur baby! Aww I’m sure he loved his breakfast. Lol at your spare room. Ours is currently taken up by our fur baby 😂😂 he loves to sit on the spare bed and guard at night (the bed is against the front window). He sheds like crazy so don’t think anyone would want to sleep there.

@thislittlebird yey for York! It’s great to have something to look forward to.

@beckyCarlos My spare room is also a clothes mountain, glad I’m not alone! oh god, I really want a fur baby. Happy birthday to yours! I’ll be getting a bit of a pay grade/rise whichever job I end up doing so if this is a BFN I think I’ll have to think about it again. My problem is we always have a trip booked that gets in the way, maybe we could aim for a new year furbaby.

All I’ve learned so far is York is expensive af lol. Bloody holiday inn is £200 per night! I’m shopping around because these prices just make me go damn, could have gone abroad lol. I’ll check that one out.

I have no symptoms again today, so I think I’m out tbh, other than my ongoing thrush/bv issues. What fun. Love that for me. Love. It. 🤪

I’m also having ~general~ government rage because whatever they do results in house prices getting more expensive where we want to move to and then they wonder why no one is moving house.

@beckyCarlos I went for this onein the end www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186346-d612304-Reviews-Clementine_s_Town_House_Hotel_BW_Premier_Collection-York_North_Yorkshire_England.html

They were all pricey, even the Novotel etc, so I decided to spend £30 more and stay here.
