🤣🤣 ah the fear. I remember when the fear was something productive (uni deadline)!

99pctpractice · 26/09/2022 20:44

@thislittlebird willing af to stay away!!! I can't believe you haven't tested yet - so impressed! When is your official test day?

thislittlebird · 26/09/2022 21:17

@beckyCarlos I can’t say I miss uni deadlines, productive or not 😂

@99pctpractice I just really, really hate testing! I would never do it if I could avoid it. I’m definitely going to lose the plot, there’s a long few days to go. OTD is Thursday which feels so far away. Need to prep myself for the usual BFN because that one line in the window is the actual worst.

Good luck @thislittlebird 😬🤞

And @Tinkerbell098 good luck for your transfer on Weds.

I'm on day 3 of my stims. I reduce my dose tomorrow and have some bloods on Weds morning. I just feel like I'm going through the motions this cycle. IVF life 🤜🤛 😆

thislittlebird · 27/09/2022 09:19

@Kay00 it does get a bit like that, doesn’t it? It starts to feel like something you do, it’s weird. Fingers crossed for you for this round of stims!

I found this really helpful, in case anyone else hasn't seen it before:

www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/threads/agates-guide-to-learning-from-your-failed-ivf-cycle.283000/

@thislittlebird really hoping no migraine and that af is staying away for you!!

99pctpractice · 27/09/2022 10:30

(I say helpful, but I mean more interesting given we aren't doing any more ivf!! Would have been good to see it much earlier in the process!)

thislittlebird · 27/09/2022 10:52

@99pctpractice I’ll check that out. It feels like we don’t get enough info on why quite a lot, so any resources are good.

AF is not yet here, but I am on more progesterone this time, but I feel like I have a headache coming on tbh, it’s making me stressed.

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 27/09/2022 11:23

@kay00 its weird isnt it! The first time its exciting and nerve wracking and thereafter its a bit of a drag!
@thislittlebird nooo! Hopefully its just a stress headache

thislittlebird · 27/09/2022 11:47

@beckyCarlos what you said. First time is like !!!!!! and then it’s all very tedious after doing it once. Routine 🫠

I hope so. I feel physically nervous, I need to go for a walk or something, and I still have two days to make it though….hopefully 🙃

My work bonus got smashed by pension, tax, ni and student load today lol. Disappointing! At least it’s paid for us to have a trip to York!

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 27/09/2022 12:00

@thislittlebird I'm a big fan of a walk (or just sitting in the sun/outside if its not raining) I kinda have to be because of the dog, but through covid and this ivf bollocks I feel a bit physically and mentally 'better' for having 10 minutes outside.

My work has announced a small 'bonus' today... but once pension, tax, and student loan come off I'll be lucky to see half 😅 better than nothing, but would probably only pay for a private baseline ultrasound with no change 🙈

thislittlebird · 27/09/2022 12:36

@beckyCarlos I do wish I had a dog so it forced me out more. I've worked from home a lot the last two years, and between that and IVF I'm a bit of a hermit these days. I'll go out at lunch for a walk unless the rain comes back.

I ended up with under 500 I think, which covers the York trip, and there was I spending some of it on Fatface's website. Already bought a dress, was hoping for a coat too lol.

beckyCarlos · 28/09/2022 08:45

@thislittlebird how are things?
@kay00 how are you getting on?
@tinkerbell098 good luck today!!
We have a review appointment today (the wheels move fast when you're private, and they know they can get another dose of cash from you...)

thislittlebird · 28/09/2022 09:02

@beckyCarlos i am twitchy af. No Af yet, but probably on too much progesterone for it anyway, and no migraine, but they’ve been better the last month or two anyway, so I’m just counting down to test day. I don’t want to do it 😭

I tried to explain to my husband that this is the only time I can believe it might have worked, you all know what I mean.

What are they reviewing for you today?

Tinkerbell098 · 28/09/2022 09:29

Thanks all, just in the waiting room eek!

beckyCarlos · 28/09/2022 10:02

Omggg @tinkerbell098 thats an early one, yey!!! Have you got your nearest McDonalds identified for fries?
@thislittlebird we know what you mean :) is your official test day tomorrow?
Haha god only knows. In reality its a 'this is what went wrong with this cycle' which we all already know (my ovaries have no reserves). So I imagine shes going to say exactly that, and refer us to the egg donation team if we want (we do want, I think my husband thinks I'm mad because I'm doing really well, but I've been preparing for this since our first consultation once the Dr explained what all the results meant so really I've had a year to come to terms with it...)

thislittlebird · 28/09/2022 10:35

@Tinkerbell098 good luck! Keep us posted. I went for the Wagamama option not fries lol

@beckyCarlos OTD is tomorrow. I'm torn tbh, have a leaving lunch at work tomorrow so can't wfh all day, plus I'm expecting good or bad job news and I don't know if testing tomorrow and possibly getting a bfn is a good plan for the day.

It's good that you've had time to come to terms with it all. My friend did DE and she has twins now, if you know DOR is your main issues it's a good option. Hopefully the review will be helpful and they'll clarify things for you further.

beckyCarlos · 28/09/2022 11:16

@thislittlebird ooh thats a tough one. Are you going to wait until you get home?! Or even Friday?! I am honestly in awe of you! Yeah my AMH is 2 and the best AFC I've had is 8 (six normal sized and two tiny (i know, tiny for antral follicles must be miniscule). But all the counts before that were 4. Hello super early menopause another thing to look forward to 🙄😂 hopefully DE are our answer!

thislittlebird · 28/09/2022 11:31

@beckyCarlos I'm not sure, I'm not a testing expert and don't want a duff result so in my head I would always test with FMU but maybe I need to consider tomorrow evening or today. How did you find testing when you got a bfp? Did it work at any time of day or did you have to prepare/hold etc?

It's frustrating because 6 or 8 is a good amount but it doesn't seem to translate into harvested eggs for you and they don't seem to know why?

Early menopause is an interesting topic we don't discuss a lot here, but it was a big fear of mine in my early 30s before we started trying at 36. My mum claims hers was early, she had me at 36 and seems to think that only a couple of years later she was peri. I kept going to the doctors and making them run tests when I was 33-35, at the time I didn't know what they were running but now I know it would be LH/FSH. They would tell me it was fine, but I suppose it was more than fine since my LH and FSH are 1 point something and I have a lot of follicles. So I don't know what that means for me, I assumed I'd be like my mother but maybe I didn't get that side of things from her. I think she might misremember a little but I don't think she'd misremember 38 as 46 or 48, for example. I'd have been 10 or 12 by then lol. I also look quite young, most people do not think I'm nearly 40 so I guess it could be a genetics thing from my dad's side, but I don't know much about him/his family, he died when I was young.

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 28/09/2022 13:13

@thislittlebird I tested at night, and then again the following morning. But there was definitely a line in the evening, no holding or anything, and I had 2l of water in the day as usual.

I've got a low reserve and I don't respond well to stims. Double whammy of useless. Ironically if my husbands semen analysis were normal we'd probably have two kids by now. We're strangely incompatible when it comes to fertility lol. My mum started peri about 46-48 ish (she had me 'late' for the time at 30) and my grandma had twins at my age... knowing my luck my paltry reserve will limp on into my late 40s early 50s 🤣

Tinkerbell098 · 28/09/2022 18:14

Hi all, thanks so much for the wishes. Transfer was so quick and easy. We have a hatching blast in! May have one to freeze, but they are going to confirm tomorrow. Didn’t go to McDonald’s, but went for a nice breakfast. Baby’s first meal was eggs Benedict. Then, things started to get weird. Just had the smell of raw onion off my husbands side salad he had with his eggs and I really craved it! I absolutely hate raw onion! How strange! What is this embaby turning me into haha!

@thislittlebird yey to no AF! What did you decide in the end? Test tonight or tomorrow? Sending you all the luck in the world XX

beckyCarlos · 28/09/2022 18:30

@tinkerbell098 wooooo! Its weird isnt it, almost anticlimactic after all the stress, I felt super fragile for the rest of the day though so spent most of it on the sofa (despite knowing that affects literally nothing lol). Importantly, was it brown, red, or spring onion 🤣

thislittlebird · 28/09/2022 18:54

Guys I thinks there’s a second line and I’m freaking out. I don’t know if I’m imagining it, I’ve never seen one. My urine wasn’t strong because it’s 18.54 and I held for 3 hours.

Tinkerbell098 · 28/09/2022 18:56

@thislittlebird OMG I’m literally screaming!!! That is amaaazing!!!

Tinkerbell098 · 28/09/2022 18:57

@beckyCarlos i can’t not walk so decided to go for a gentle walk morning and evening. Very gentle though nothing strenuous! Haha it was red!
