Anyone had any luck with Letrozole?!

I have just been prescribed this after TTC for 6 months (35) we had a fertility check up, everything was fine, although I had PCOS, although my periods are regular, so they didn’t think this was an issue.
I just haven’t really found many positive success stories with Letrozole, so was hoping someone might have some to share to give me a bit of hope?

congratulations @Lisa3845
to update the thread, I got pregnant first month but sadly ended in a MMC at 10 weeks. When my periods returned I was recommended to use progesterone suppositories with the Letrozole and this worked on the third month also doing the sperm meets egg plan. We now have a wonderful baby girl who is 4 weeks tomorrow!

@Victoriaspa I needed to see that success story. Huge congratulations! Just got my period after month one and feeling very depleted as ttc for 25 months now

@Eagerlywaiting1990 i’m so sorry you are going through this. I have since heard lots of success stories using Letrozole and it rarely works first time. Don’t give up hope, I also did Wim hoff breathing before sex and implantation yoga for the two week wait if any other tips help. Hope you get your blue lines soon. X

Hi, can I ask if you took progesterone from ovulation onwards for your luteal phase, or if they gave it to you for other stages of your cycle too?

Hey, I can totally relate to your situation. I also struggled with PCOS and TTC and was prescribed Letrozole at one point. Like you, I had regular periods, and while Letrozole seemed promising, it didn’t work for me personally—I didn’t achieve the results I was hoping for.

After that, I tried Metformin, but again, it wasn’t the breakthrough I needed. Eventually, I decided to give Clomid a try after hearing about it from a close friend who had great success with it. Honestly, Clomid was a game-changer for me! I started taking it on days 3–7 of my cycle, and by the second cycle, I got my first positive pregnancy test! 🥰 I can’t describe how relieved and happy I was.

I actually ordered Clomid from a reliable pharmacy my friend recommended: topsup24.com/buy-clomid-uk.html. The process was super easy, the delivery was fast, and the medication worked exactly as expected. I was really pleased with the whole experience.

Just don’t lose hope. Letrozole works wonders for many women, but if it doesn’t, there are definitely other options out there like Clomid. Speak with your doctor about next steps, and always keep the faith—it can happen when you least expect it! 💕

Wishing you all the best on your journey! 💐

@Lisa3845 I was told to take progesterone from the first positive test, although I have heard some people advised to take from ovulation. Good luck

Hi all I'm PCOS been trying for over 10 years first few years I was falling pregnant but kept miscarrying I haven't been pregnant now for about 6 years I tried multiple over the counter things and doctors put me on clomid but nothing I've just about giving up and I now don't see my doctor anymore about it but here gose my friend had breast cancer thankfully removed and she's doing great she's been talking about having kids I'm happy for her so we got into the conversation about her medication and if it was effect her getting pregnant when infact when we did some research we find it's also used as a fertility drug so she then says to me I have over the amount of letrozole as she put 2 prescriptions in so has double the amount she needs and says if you want a pack to try have one of mine and I know so please don't judge me it's the wrong thing to do and you shouldn't take someone else's medication but I can't help but feel like I've been given a chance and feel like I should just try it once but I'm a little worried too I've done research about letrozole 2.5mg and there isn't really any major side effects so would I really need to be monitored by my doctor again please don't judge me I'm just in a very confused state of mind right now and would really like some advice

Victoriaspa · 15/03/2025 08:59

I personally don’t see the harm, but I’m not a dr. The only thing I would say is it helped me conceive but then I miscarried without progesterone so it might be better to go through a fertility clinic to get the best advice. I have heard clomid is more potent.
if you have PCOS check out the meals she eats on TikTok, she cured her PCOS by removing sugar, I also gave up sugar when I was trying. Good luck!xx

Thank you Victoria 😊 unfortunately the waiting list for the fertility clinic here is terrible your waiting a year or more just to be seen that's before starting any treatments unless you go private then your in straight away but it's so expensive to go private you might aswell save a little more and go for around of ivf I'm just abit all over the place at the moment I feel like it's been a sign silly I know but what's the odds my friends treatment is letrozole she has over ordered and said I could use them and it's for fertility I feel there's a part of me saying no don't do it because something could go wrong but then the others saying try it once it's your last chance especially as my friend is just going to bin the once she doesn't need feels a waste when it's something that could possibly help me

Mymy11 · 16/03/2025 22:08

Just so confused 😕 anyone feel free to give me your opinion on this should I or shouldn't I could really do with you lovely ladies advice xx

Hey I used letrozole for 5 cycles under dr supervision (PCOS never any natural pregnancies) did 2.5mg and 5mg and it worked once at 5mg. Do you know the protocol to use it? I then needed injections to ovulate and get pregnant with progesterone support. A neighbour also with PCOS had letrozole from fertility and it hadn’t worked she had some left when treatment got cancelled and without a dr tried it and it worked and she got pregnant. It’s your choice, you could try it if you think you can do it safely?
