Ferti-Lily - is it really worth the hype?

Just after some opinions form anyone who has used a Ferti-Lily cup (or similar). Is it really as good as I've heard?

If you have used one, how many cycles did you go through before using and how many did it take while using it to get a BFP? Have you even had a BFP?

Do you think it has actually made a difference?

We are on cycle 8 of TTC #1 so willing to try anything at this point!

Just bought a knock-off one from ebay ('y cup') for our first round of ttc #2. DS1 caught on cycle 9 last time, which was 2nd cycle using a mooncup for the same thing, so fingers crossed!

Oh that’s amazing news! Congratulations!!! I think I’ll be quite anxious now If it hasn’t worked this time going into the 6 month mark. I’ve heard conceive plus lube is fab aswell so I used some of that too 🙌🏻

Im on day 2 of flashing smiley so hoping for a static in next day or so, decided to give this a try along with pre seed as previously tried SMEP xx

SO, we have been TTC for just over 2 years.
I've my next fertility appt today - but anyways, I bought one of these today..
NOW, I am 'high' on my ovulation digital test, so expecting peak tomorrow-over the weekend... when do I use this?
Shall we use tonight, tomorrow, and sat+sun?
Whats the general consensus?

AND, how will I know if it's in far enough..
It sounds gross but I seem to leak a lot after - and wonder if it's normal, like I feel lots doesn't get in there... I do have a tilted cervix so this could be the issue?

Anyways, this thread - I wish i'd found sooner - but I am incredibly hopeful... I don't really know the rules are TTC, I've tried that SPME method.. is it best to try everyday? multiple times? I really don't know.. and If i get a positive peak ovulation in the AM, am I ok to be waiting for the evening to have sex?

@shadawayo wow this thread is a blast from the past! I think I used it once, on the day of the OPK peak. If you get a peak in the morning I can’t see why it would be an issue to wait until the evening. But ideally get DTD once you get a high as you don’t know when you’ll get a peak. I used to DTD every other day and then on the day of peak, but honestly I don’t think there is a particular science to it. I would use the ferti-Lily as soon as possible so that you’ve had practice with it before your peak, it can be tricky. I would say you know when it’s in because it’s comfy, a bit like you’d know if a tampon wasn’t in properly? Good luck!

Hi! I found it very good! It tooo a couple of try’s (and tilting) to get it in the right place! But once it was in, kept it in for the full hour!

How does it work best, insert it with semen on the cup, or after the semen is already inside of you? I'm doing home insemination (syringe), as too much pressure doing it the usual way.

The stem is slightly bent, at which angle is the cup supposed to go in?

so straight up I guess - like a tampon!!
i found having a pillow under my back / bum helped the angle!
it’s quite fiddly - try a couple of times before the real thing!! xx
you put it in inside out, then when you’ve gone as far as you can (sometimes I couldn’t tell) you pull the string to make it cup shaped again! Xx

I tried mine this morning (not dtd yet - was dry as a desert👀) and it just wouldn't go in. I tried folding it but it kept slipping out whilst half way in and unfolding back to original umbrella shape. Now I'm getting some strange pain in what feels like urethra

How is everyone managing this ?? 😭

It worked for me last time I tried it (although ended with early loss) and optimistic it'll work out this time too! -counting down the days til poas!

That’s exactly what happened with me it was unfolding back. The first time I got it in ok but the second time I felt like it was in but tilted but I just left it because I thought if it’s up there surly it must be doing some good 🤣.

I think it does take some messing around but looks like it does the trick fingers crossed @JS5

I tried using later today again and managed to get it inside but the cup wasn't naturally sitting straight and the stem wasn't hanging out straight, the cup mouth was tilted slightly backwards towards the bum, and so the stem was more forward towards uterus. I tried correcting position but it kept going back to that so I just trusted the process 🤷‍♀️

I know it says only keep in for an hour max but my stupid brain is telling me to keep it longer to optimise my chance.

Those that got BFP, did you keep it on longer than 1 hour?

I don’t think I ever got it in the right position. I wither found it too tricky or couldn’t be bothered 😅 I left it in for an hour or as close to and got my positive who’s now 4 months old. Congratulations @shadawayo ! Good luck everyone

Hi ladies. I feel emotional while reading this post this morning. I got BFP on cycle 4 last Christmas and now my little one is almost 6 months old.( he was born on week 36, didn’t go to nicu, and just managed to do his first roll over this week 🥹)

I think the fertilily cup definitely helped me on TTC, because I didn’t have to raise my leg afterwards, I could just relax, so my body wasn’t intense because I didn’t need to worry about leakage!

I left it in for about 45 mins (I think someone was asking this?) I also used the pre-seed for that cycle as well.

Just following up from last post, used fertilily again this month, and got a positive!

Used it for roughly 6 months and didn't find it any use tbh pretty sure the month I conceived I didn't even use it

Has anyone struggled to get it out afterwards. I've had a bad experience with a menstrual cup and worried same thing will happen with ferti lily.
