Been TTC 6 months! Feeling sad now :( anyone the same?

I've been coming on here since we started trying I've learnt most of things about TTC ovulation etc off Mumsnet, I never thought to make an account because I'm 24 my OH is 34, I thought it would happen straight away! It didn't, I come off my pill on NYE 2021 which I had been on for 6 years but when February hit my periods were bang on 28 days apart so very regular so I assumed I was ovulating (still hope I am) but I have been tracking on 2 apps and then I have used ovulation tests and even the conceive + gel the past 2 months! I'm gutted as I wish I would of come off my pill earlier. I'm worried, I know I'm overthinking it too much to be honest but I just thought it won't hurt speaking to someone that's been in the same boat, He has got 1 child to previous, so I'm starting to panic that it's me. Anyone else been through this or do we need to get checked after 6 months of trying? Thanks in advance :) worry wart here!

@Freespirit98 ah thank you! What dpo are you now? I have stopped spotting again now & nothing last night. AF technically due tomorrow. If it's not fully here by tomorrow I will test Saturday morning just incase. I genuinely thought it could be implantation as well as I had so many symptoms. But the extra spotting last night has made me believe it's AF messing around. It's not really red blood still so I have no clue. Still no AF symptoms either. I have signed up to natural cycles today and ordered some ovulation tests so I can start tracking it. I get all ovulation symptoms every month so I know when I need to have sex but I'd like to know what my BBT is doing and see when the LH surge actually is. How long have you been trying? 6 months? We've been trying 5 months this month, we probably should discount 3 of those due to Covid, getting a puppy and getting zero sleep & one we didn't really have sex enough as I found out I had an ectropian which was treated. I know it's not that long but when you desperately want something so bad it feels like forever doesn't it!! Xx

No it won't matter what brand, mine cost a pound from the village pharmacy, they do the same thing :) I did try Pregnacare for a few days (the gummy vitamins with lots of other things in including iron) but I felt very nauseous on them so switched to just folic acid and vit d and it's been fine!

Some days I do feel super positive and know it’s going to happen but others… it’s hard not to get in a funk.

Also… I’ve spending too much time and money on supplements 🙅

@Freespirit98 what tests are you using?

Im not sure if it’s coincidence or not but we actually conceived the month we stopped using conceive plus!

AF has arrived early for me 😢 On to the next month I guess. x

@hevann so sorry to hear this 😞 I still haven't got AF. Driving me mad. Tested negative today x

@Angie2018 I was 6 days late and sadly period arrived last night I was absolutely gutted :'( Cried for hours because I was so hopeful my period has never been late before! Have you had yours or has AF come? Sorry it took me a few days to get back been busy then that completely knocked me down yesterday! 5 months trying is so long when you want it so bad! I'm starting to wish I didn't set my heart on this because I am really down today. I came off my pill new years eve 21 and started trying first cycle so will be 6 months now :( My partner is so supportive which I feel good about but I just feel like a failure, his daughter (12) lives with us, and she has said she'd love a baby brother or sister in the past which also makes me feel crap :( she came down last night when I was upset I didnt even know what to say just said I had a headache, It's getting harder :( xx

@ChickinMarango I've been using clear blue, first response, then cheapies from Home bargains & B&M! Crazy, the conceive+ I have heard good things about but nothing for us so far yet!

Omg I totally understand how you feel because I feel like a failure too because I have two step daughters and whilst I love them so much I feel like it's such a huge thing for me to have my own with my partner and every month it gets even harder! Just remember everything happens for a reason and the right egg will be fertilised at the right time. That's what my acupuncturist says to me! I said goodbye to AF today which was also late.... I'm
Convinced something went on with me this month it's was so strange and I had text book implantation symptoms 7 days before AF arrived but never tested. But onwards and upwards onto cycle 6! I feel so much better this cycle, I had a good chat with my other half and feel like this is our month! Stay strong and positive because you need a happy mind as well to conceive xx

@Angie2018 Me too I have such a great bond with my step daughter it just feels like a lot when I know how happy everyone would be for us! Plus comments from the in laws you 2 best get busy etc Ha 😅😂I feel like saying we have been bloody busy for 6 months!! Bless them, Thank you so much, I needed that! Oh me too I'm convinced, I've not been late since I come off the pill & this period is way worse I don't usually get cramps this bad and I never bleed this heavy and I'm only on day 3 :'( I tested every day when I was late which I'm not going to do this cycle I feel I'm putting too much pressure on myself, thank you very much for that, Need to keep a positive mind! @Freespirit98 @Angie2018 we really are going through exactly the same! I have 2 step daughters one of which had a baby last year which makes me feel like a failure that I'm not getting pregnant especially when they weren't trying. I also didn't want to have the aunt/uncle to be younger than the niece/nephew but that's what happens when you marry someone older that already has kids I guess.

This period has been the worst one I've had since I was a teenager before I started contraception at 16 due to them being so horrendous.

Maybe these are signs that it might be our turn soon with our periods being worse than normal. Maybe the right hormones are coming back through. Im really trying to be optimistic here 🤣

All of my apps are saying ovulation on the 21st🤞🏻xx

Just to reiterate I love my step grand baby he is amazing & wouldn't change him for the world! Lol!

My previous message may have come across like I resented the fact that he was born. I don't, just makes me want my own even more. x

@hevann hey lovely! Don't worry I didn't take it like that & I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from. I love my step kids so much, but it doesn't stop me from feeling like a failure for not giving my partner kids and doesn't stop the desperation to have my own!! It's actual torture at times. Has AF come yet? So I am pretty sure I had a chemical pregnancy last cycle, I have spoken to my acupuncturist and she's convinced it was too. So I am feeling positive that we can conceive and I am just waiting for the right egg now! It's not easy marrying an older man with kids already, it's super tough. But in my mind I just think one day we will have children of our own and we will be complete. Xx

@Angie2018 I'm really sorry to hear about your chemical. Although it is really sad & must have been awful for you I think It's great that you are now feeling a bit more positive towards conceiving.

AF has been & gone for me this month. I finished yesterday so starting all over again. 'Fertile week' starts on the 17th. Have you had AF yet?

@hevann thank you I appreciate that! I guess I am trying not to see it in a negative way, I see it as a positive that my body rejected something that wasn't right & it proves the sperm met the egg which is amazing! It is sad though because it would have been amazing to surprise him on Father's Day but I guess it will be just as special when the right egg comes along.

I am cycle day 5 now and my fertile window starts on the 18th but baby making starts from today 🤣 I know when my fertile window arrives as I get loads of EWCM. That's not here yet but I've said to OH that it's important his swimmers are new and ready to swim 🤣🤣

I really hope it's our month too! It would be soooo nice to have a spring baby in March. That would be amazing. My birthday is the 5th April so means I would have a baby before I turned 34 which is something I would really like xx

@Freespirit98 omg so sorry I didn't see your response! Feel bad I didn't reply now! Ah I am glad I helped, it's so hard sometimes to remain sane and positive, I have been down most months to be honest but you know what, you know your body, if you believe somethings gone on it most likely has. I know for sure I had a chemical this month, I just don't test early for that reason as I think it would be harder with a positive test and then a negative one. Just see it as the sperm met the egg and it's possible for you both to conceive & the right egg will come along. There are so many stories online about girls having a chemical and then getting pregnant the month after and having a healthy baby. So it will defo happen!! I pray you get your BFP this month! A March baby would be so nice it's such a nice time of year. I've always said to my partner I'd love a spring or summer baby. He said the same. Fingers crossed for us all! Keep us posted! When are you due to ovulate? I am due to ovulate on the 22nd so a week today xx

I would love a March baby. We don't have many March birthdays in the family except mine & my cousins. His is the 6th & I'm the 31st so it would work out well for the middle 😂

I know what you mean when you say it'll be nice to give birth before our next birthdays. Won't feel as old 🤣 I'll be 37 next year. x

I totally agree I'd love a March baby too. My birthday is the 5th April so I am an Aries like you!! We also have so many birthdays between October to Jan we've said we would love a spring or summer baby so if we conceive this month we will get our wish plus I will still be 33 🤣🤣 x
