@MamaSJ15 yea I was really worried. Looked at DH and he's snoring away. Then went down the Google rabbit hole of cramping after sex..apparently it can happen during ovulation or I have dodgy disease 🤢 this is another reason I don't like DTD in early pregnancy. I cramp after that too. I'm defo not pregnant though it's just odd has never happened before

alwaysseeingstars · 23/08/2022 08:47

@MrsCristiano honestly it's no problem, I've had such conflicting advice too - my GP pretty much said yeah you can stay on them all and the obstetrician wants me off as much as possible! She did say that migraines can improve with pregnancy so hopefully I won't need most of the tablets, the main one I'm concerned coming off is the blood pressure ones as mine can be very erratic!
Are you on topiramate? This one was a 100% do NOT take this when pregnant, she was very strict on that one (same as candesartan but you said you're not on that so that's ok). I'm on 50mg amitriptyline so she wants that down to 25mg, then possibly slowly lower if I'm OK - she said it's not as bad as others for the baby but it can make it 'jittery'... And re the ones I came off before falling pregnant, she said to come off them completely not just in the TWW as they can still cause issues (although not masses of research on them)

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 09:16

@alwaysseeingstars no I'm not on that. Yet. The amitriptyline seemed to selling the migraines along with the beta blocker. I'm on 20mg ami but with the first pregnancy reduced it to 10mg in an aim to come off. God I absolutely HATE migraines it's just so much more than a headache for us😩

alwaysseeingstars · 23/08/2022 09:20

@MrsCristiano oh that's OK then! I know what you mean, they're so debilitating and can be a very fragile thing to manage, the only thing that's worked so far is the ami and bisoprolol so I'm praying they were right yesterday about migraines improving in pregnancy and I won't go back to having seizures with cutting them back - I don't think DH would cope he's such a worrier 😆

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 09:41

@alwaysseeingstars I know that is a worry. They didn't recommend a safer alternative?

For me my migraines were bad in the first trimester in my younger years then fizzled out as I progressed. It's the worry of a stroke for me though 'migrainous infarction' caused by the pill and the tiny heart hole. My DH is also a worrier is literally ready to take me to the hospital for a brain scan if my aura lasts for longer than an hour. I'll have a good think. I'm not even pregnant yet so this may all be a moot point. Quite sure about stopping the clopidogrel do not want to haemorrhage again

alwaysseeingstars · 23/08/2022 09:56

@MrsCristiano no, she's said she's going to schedule an appointment for me after my 12 week scan to discuss, I've got to keep a daily record of BP readings until then to see what they do!
Re the aura, have you tried Almotriptan? I don't get on with any other triptans but my gosh that one for me is a saver - it's stopped me progressing into seizures many times now.
Yeah you can't go messing about with risks of stroke and haemorrhaging, such a difficult balance xx

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 09:58

@alwaysseeingstars I have not. I tried sumatriptan and was like doesn't work. Actually made the rebound headache worse xx

alwaysseeingstars · 23/08/2022 10:04

@MrsCristiano might be worth a go in the future! I imagine they wouldn't put you on it when TTC but I'd keep it in mind to try one day if you're struggling xx
Just spoke to the local midwife team and should get a call later this week with a booking appointment, now to persuade DH I haven't jinxed it and it does need doing 🙄

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 11:19

@alwaysseeingstars ah no! You haven't jinxed it all xx it needs done so excited for you 😘

Tropicana1 · 23/08/2022 11:36

@MrsCristiano ooh definitely getting there! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow then for peak!
I had weird cramping a day or two before ovulation and a couple of days after last month especially after / during sex. I have endometriosis though so I blame that for a good percentage of weird feelings I get 🤣

@MamaSJ15 ah fingers crossed not too much longer to wait!

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 11:42

@Tropicana1 see I was wondering that. There was so many questions at my last scan about painful periods when they were looking at the image but I doubt you can just develop it? Or can you? I need to read more

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 11:50

Even if it peaks to 3 tonight I'm not DTD! It felt like he hit an ovary then the cramping started. I dunno all very weird I had to stop him half way through then restarted no point wasting the goods ladies 😂

UGH1 · 23/08/2022 13:31

Hi! Does anyone know if had a negative test on a FRER 11 DPO, am i unlikely to be pregnant?

Thanks!!

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 13:43

@UGH1 are you 100% sure of your dates? And no the FRER ones imo are rubbish (unpopular opinion)

Tropicana1 · 23/08/2022 13:47

@MrsCristiano I only got diagnosed with a laparoscopy 3 years ago at 29, had always had painful heavy periods. Think it can develop / become symptomatic at any point

UGH1 · 23/08/2022 13:49

@MrsCristiano its a good question... its my first month properly tracking after 1 month coming off the pill.. so possible its wrong! Just was feeling disappointed already and wanted some hope 😂

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 13:49

@UGH1 my last pregnancy I tested on one of those and I swear I needed a magnifying glass at 12dpo. And DH didn't believe it when he was convinced the day b4 with a clear blue 🙄

Alice1608 · 23/08/2022 15:39

Hi all! So believe it or not, I have read from the start of this thread to the end for most of the day!
Can I just say how brave you all are being so vulnerable and I feel like I know so many of you through all the messages. You are sharing your deepest desires and moat heart breaking losses and some messages have made me cry. You are all amazing women and so brave and hopeful.

I am 6DPO according to my app, as I'm so regular on 28 day cycles, when I will be on my period etc. I'm not doing ovulation testing as I believe I will obsess, however I know we DTD the day before ovulation and a day after. So not sure on if that's worked.. I did a amazon cheapy this morning and it was negative, and I know its early. But I'm cramping a little and feel a little sick, maybe I'm imagining it... anyways which tests would be the best to recommend and which DPO should I test? Should I just wait until if I come on my period? (I'm not up to date on all acronyms sorry!) Xxx

MrsCristiano · 23/08/2022 16:22

@Alice1608 i was thinking to myself argh what did I write and did a quick sweep there. But it looks like you caught most of my story.

Basically the longer you leave to test the better. Nothing more depressing than thinking you see a line and looking at it in all lights to confirm. Then DH comes home and tells you you're mental 'there is no line!' I'd say 10 dpo at the earliest if you want to squint for a bit, 12 dpo to see a line that is visible to all.

As for tests I like clearblue ultra early. I dunno I'm not sure about the First response ones (FRER) you can get from Amazon. I think shop bought ones have more quality and less indents. Probably my imagination. But at 12 dpo most tests should pick lines up xx Good luck 🤞❤️

Alice1608 · 23/08/2022 16:27

@MrsCristiano OK thank you! I will wait until 10dpo to test again if I'm still feeling this way and we should see. I am not the most patient person, so know this will be torture!lol xxx
