@Loz365 that's so great that you were able to get a scan booked in before your holiday. My LP was similar after my MC too- I started AF at 8dpo. It was just for one cycle though.

@MO22 lovely to hear from you. I had the same experience last cycle, it can be such a tough and lonely time. Rant away!

I'm 8dpo today and my chart is looking okay I guess? I'm not sure what to think about the very steady temps- I never have this. I actually thought it was broken to start with. I'm ignoring the spike because I was up so many times that night and forgot to take it out. My temps are also lower on average for me post ov. I've had the same crampy/pressure feeling that I had last cycle, so I am preparing for a no luck cycle.

Not sure when to test, but I am sure it will be this weekend!

@MO22 sorry you're feeling so low 😔 it can be hard to stay positive when everything feels like it's going against you. But your chart looks great so far, very steady temps!
And yep I'm under the NHS infertility clinic. My GP referred me last year after I went about 6 months without a period and tests confirmed PCOS. I would hope they can refer you on, or at least do some more tests to see if they can identify any issues. Tbh I would push for tests/a referral - I've found it's better to be open about what you would like, end of the day they can refuse but I've found it helps to just tell them straight (but politely) 😆

@theblueflowers thanks! Yea I'm glad my cycle was so short otherwise it would have probably been too late. Just hoping it makes me ovulate around CD14 so we can get all the BD in before I leave.
Your temps are great!! I remember getting a few temps the same and also thought it was broken 😂 I've got everything crossed for you! X

theblueflowers · 01/09/2022 08:29

@MO22 @Loz365 I definitely second going into an appointment and telling them what you are expecting rather than waiting for them to suggest it. I found them much more receptive to this way, and I got what I wanted!

MO22 · 01/09/2022 09:48

Thanks both @Loz365 @theblueflowers
I had a GP appt back in April about irregular bleeding and they did some blood tests (no 3, 21 day, no FSH etc) and referred me to the gynaecologist which is a telephone call next week... Not sure how she plans on looking down there via the phone 😂

I went private tho and they said everything ok re bleeding, obv have PCOS but knew that years ago and am on metaformin.

I suppose I should just call the GP and ask for a referral- would that be to the fertility clinic? Is that would I should request?

My private doc said they could do letrozole and scan but it's so expensive! Work covered my operation as it was "period related" not fertility which my insurance won't touch with a barge pole.

So maybe I should just bite the bullet and start being annoying? I imagine the wait is quite long for fertility clinic? Did you do hyscosy etc with them @loz

Loz365 · 01/09/2022 10:02

@MO22 i would be tempted to contact the GP and ask for a referral to the infertility clinic. According to the NHS guidelines I think they should be able to refer you if you've been trying for more than 6 months and you have PCOS (although I suspect a miscarriage resets the timer 🙄)
My wait wasn't too bad, I was referred in Oct/Nov and had my first appt at beginning of Feb.
They repeated some bloods and I had a hycosy and then they started letrozole.

MO22 · 01/09/2022 10:06

@Loz365 ok amazing that's great information. I thought I had to wait for 6 months after I turned 35 because my MC reset it. Fuck it, I'll get a GP appt in and do that. Thank you ❤️

Was the hycosy awful? Is it the one where they flush the tubes? I've had a hysteroscopy but the private doc said they wouldnt bother with a hycosy as I'd got pregnant recently so at least one tube was working. Not so recent now tho I guess, I got pregnant in Oct last year so almost a full year... 😔

Loz365 · 01/09/2022 10:12

@MO22 hopefully you get a nice GP and they'll do the referral for you, especially if it's nearly been a year since your MC.

Not gunna lie, I found the hycosy horrendous. I have a pretty high pain threshold but I do get quite bad period cramps (on mefenamic acid from the GP because of it) and they said women who have painful periods often find the hycosy painful.
Yea they basically put a little tube in your cervix and inject dye and use an ultrasound probe to watch it flush through the tubes.
The worst bit for me was when they injected the dye, I thought I was gunna pass out and nearly vomited from pain. It was still during Covid restrictions when you couldn't take anyone with you, I think if my partner had been there I might have been less of a mess 😅
Lots of women said they didn't find it an issue though so it's not that bad for everyone!! X

MO22 · 01/09/2022 10:31

@Loz365 argh I've heard the horror stories. I am a wuss, but have high pain threshold - but I had the hysteroscopy with general purely because they offered it as an option.

That sounds horrible, will see if I can get away without it... Bet I can't!

I'd go private to avoid the wait but is £700 a cycle to be tracked and obv it wouldn't take just one! I don't have that money sadly.

MO22 · 04/09/2022 09:54

Morning all, hope you've had good weekends.

Wondering if anyone has seen this before?
Weirdly seem to be getting another peak? I know the app says it's just high but it's definitely a peak like the peak I had yesterday. Jusy wondering what that means for when I will actually ovulate? I thought today but maybe it's tomorrow now?

Loz365 · 05/09/2022 07:30

@MO22 I often get peak OPKs for 2 days in a row, then I usually get my temp rise day after the 2nd day peak. Really annoying for trying to time DTD 😆

MO22 · 05/09/2022 09:55

@Loz365 it's so annoying! Took a little break yesterday from DTD and of course it's looks like I ovulated then ha... Typical!

How you doing?

MO22 · 05/09/2022 11:08

@katie2021 welcome! My chart is in the last message so you can see the ups and downs in temps - and how ovusense shades the window when it thinks you're ovulating.

Katie2021 · 05/09/2022 12:18

@MO22 thanks so much for adding me I’ve been looking for something just like this as I was feeling hopeless ! 💜 I’m just reading through everyone’s experiences so far and sending you all hope. @MO22 your temps look great!! xx

I found out I had pcos after a MC which was now 1 year ago, before that I always had regular periods monthly, however since then they went incredibly irregular! (I went 4 months without at one point)

Ive now been on metformin and inositol for 10 weeks now and since had 1 heavy painful long period, so this is my first cycle since then, hoping to ovulate this month!

this is my first month using ovusense so I’ll attach my chart so far below, I got EWCM on 27th august and 28th. And also got a positive ovulation test on 27th … However my temp didn’t rise much! and then fell the next day... I take it this means I didn’t ovulate yet? Ovusense didn’t confirm ovulation.

Hope ovusense helps make me a mama! As we’re still trying for our first, just wish my temps would go up and stay up to give me chance! 🙈Sending good luck to you all 💜xx

adding my chart below if anyone can shine any hope on it 🙈

Moosh18 · 05/09/2022 17:47

Hey ladies! So sorry i vanished! I really struggled since the mc mentally, we are back at it again now (literally 😂) sadly got period yest but I had a 14 LP Which I haven't in ages so hopefully body regulating! Last two cycles ovulated on day 30 which is so late but at least regular!

I have been checking in periodically on all you all and hope you are doing well!!!!!

MO22 · 05/09/2022 18:45

@Katie2021 I thought I'd reply here as @Loz365 has been so helpful in talking through letrozole and what shes been doing (similar to clomid) and also these lovely ladies have been great in support.

I hope the GP appt is good tomorrow, what the guys here suggested to me was just ask for what you want and be really clear. I've got a telephone gynaecologist appt tomorrow so I'm just going to ask for a referral to the fertility clinic and see how it goes, but try not to take no for an answer!

@Moosh18 so lovely to hear from you! I hope you've been ok, I know how tough it is post MC so I hope you've been looking after yourself. 14 LP is great, I'm jealous! I managed to get from 10 to 12 last cycle so hoping things moving in the right direction!

Loz365 · 06/09/2022 10:06

@MO22 good luck with the appointment today! And you temp rise looks great, hope it stayed up again today for you.

@Moosh18 so lovely to hear from you! But sorry you've been struggling since your MC. I can totally relate, I had a pretty tough weekend. Spent it with family, and my brother and his girlfriend are expecting and all anyone talked about for 2 days was babies and pregnancy. I came home and cried on Sunday. Good luck for this cycle, got everything crossed for you!

@Katie2021 welcome! I have pcos too and found inositol did improve my cycles (been taking it for a year now), not totally regular but at least every 4-5 weeks. I find I sometimes have multiple peaks with OPKs but then don't ovulate, I think it's the hormone imbalance in pcos that makes it a bit unpredictable. But some months it would be more normal - the joys of pcos 🫠 Have you spoken to the GP about referral to the fertility clinic? X

MO22 · 06/09/2022 11:01

Thanks @Loz365, of course there was a drop but hoping I've still ovulated 😬

I just had my gynaecologist telephone appt and it was finally something helpful! (Also maybe finally having a woman fertility and pcos expert?!).

Outcome is she's referring me to fertility clinic (thank god) and gave me a lot of recommendations for PCOS which I thought I'd share:

  • after period take 75mg of aspirin each day
  • proxeed plus (this seems to be a combination of all the vitamins and supplements I am already taking individually, so I may switch on to that when I run out of the others... Thousands of pounds in supplements!)
  • stop BBT tracking as it's stressful (NEVER!)
  • have sex 3/4 times a week
  • if I get a positive test get progesterone pessaries prescribed immediately

I suppose I'll get some aspirin!

How was your call @Katie2021 ?

OVUSENSE (ovucore) thread 2
MO22 · 06/09/2022 11:08

Also @Loz365 I'm so sorry to hear it's been so tough. It's so hard when others are revelling in the positives and it's been such a long struggle. I hope you are looking after yourself as much as possible x

Katie2021 · 07/09/2022 10:16

@MO22 so glad your call went well! Are you feeling positive after some action is being taken now? 💜 It can make all the difference who you get! So glad they was helpful! Did she mention how long the wait would be? It’s good she gave you some tips! Never heard of the aspirin one before I wonder how that helps! worth a try xx

Yes I had my appointment she did a smear test too when I was there to make sure they wasn’t missing anything (as I had abnormal bleeding before my last cycle) , but she said everything looks good with my cervix but sent some tests off anyway just to be safe.

She said when she referred me to gyne she wrote a letter to them suggesting clomid is what she thinks I need as I’m not ovulating ( I’m glad she already got the ball rolling with that! ) - gyne said a while ago we need to have husbands swimmers tested before they will see us - been on a waiting list for months just to get that part done! I wish I thought of going private for that part as you suggested rather than waiting! But I just rang the fertility clinic again and they said they don’t usually send the appointment out until nearer the time but his appointment is in 4 weeks. Just hoping the wait for our appointment after that isn’t as long! Xx

@Loz365 hi thank you, and thanks for replying It’s good to speak to someone who’s been in similar situations! 😊 yes that’s exactly how I feel my cycle goes too! I get all the signs and symptoms then my temp drops! It’s gone up a bit again this morning as below,

Yes I’ve been referred to gyne but been on a waiting list for months just to get husbands swimmers tested (they said this needs to be tested before we can have an appointment) his appointment is in 4 weeks so just waiting for that! Hoping the next step after that isn’t as long as a wait! If it is another long wait just for my first actual gyne appointment I might price up going private for it if it doesn’t work out too expensive. All this waiting makes it harder doesn’t it xx

how is everything going with your journey? xxx

Loz365 · 07/09/2022 18:25

@MO22 I'm so glad your consultant was so helpful! And really pleased they're referring you, it makes such a difference when you feel you're being listened to and the doctor actually wants to do something to help!

Really interesting advice they've given you. Especially the aspirin and progesterone pessaries. But stopping BBT 🤣🤣🤣 what will we obsess over if we stop?! 😆
I'm going to look at the supplement they've suggested. It would be lovely to reduce the number of tablets I'm taking.

@Katie2021 oh wow, that's such a long wait for your husband! How frustrating! But like you say, hopefully once that's done it'll be quicker for you.

I had my ultrasound today and it was good news! CD11 and I have 2 dominant follicles, she said there's a risk of twins when that happens but they're happy for me to continue trying. Imagine, spend all this time trying to get pregnant and then end up with twins 😂
My endometrial lining was thicker too. Last time it was only 3.7mm on the same cycle day and I went on to miscarry. This time it's 5.1mm so everything looking positive. Now to DTD for the next few days haha!

MO22 · 07/09/2022 19:25

@Katie2021 she didn't say how long it would take, wish I'd ask. I wonder if I shall call my GP surgery and check it's happened? Do you think they'll send me a letter only when I've got an appt?

I checked out private for clomid - not where you are based but I'm London is £700 for the drugs and scans a cycle. I was thinking about it but I worry that I will need more than one so it could get very expensive very quickly... So kinda want it on the NHS... But I imagine I'm about four months away from that post testing... And as the gynaecologist kindly said, time isn't on my side.

I think I may try a cycle in a month or so private, and keep going on my NHS referral at the same time... Not sure if that's doable. Just feeling a bit worried about my age.

Chart rose back up today, but still waiting for ovulation confirmation - hoping I will get it tomorrow!

AMAZING news @Loz365 - I'd take twins happily at this point lol. So what do they suggest now, keep DTD for the next few days, and then they scan you to check you've ovulated? When do you go back in?

OVUSENSE (ovucore) thread 2
Loz365 · 07/09/2022 20:22

@MO22 that definitely looks like ovulation to me!

Thanks, yep they've said DTD every other day from today for the next week and then I've got to have my progesterone level checked on 19th to confirm I've ovulated.
Although obviously hoping OvuSense will tell me that anyway 😂

LuckyMoonstone · 07/09/2022 20:30

I’m 5dpo according to ovusense. It’s weird how every month looks different for me. Some months I have a whole week of higher and higher temps, but other months it levels off in a few days.

OVUSENSE (ovucore) thread 2
Loz365 · 07/09/2022 22:18

@LuckyMoonstone yay that it actually confirmed something this month! 🥳
Yep, every chart looks completely different for me too. Not even a hint of a pattern which makes it impossible to predict anything!!

LuckyMoonstone · 08/09/2022 07:26

@Loz365 my temps are going down slightly the last couple of days and I’m like noooo stay up 😅
