@Brightonbelle87 I hope not or I'll never hear the end of it 🤣

dearhummingbirds · 26/04/2022 11:08

Congratulations @Brightonbelle87 all my fingers crossed for you!

LemonZestDribbles · 26/04/2022 12:24

@Brightonbelle87 a new year baby will be exciting!! Might get yourself on the local news!

I meant to track my bbt this month but I forgot to take my thermometer with me. I'm home now and cd10. Is it too late to start tomorrow (cd11)? Expected ovulation is May 1st

Cherrymarket · 26/04/2022 12:29

@LemonZestDribbles i would take it as You’ll see a clear rise after ovulation anyway. Might just have to rely on eyes not app algorithm if you see what I mean? 🤞

I've got peak on OPK this morning but also had a rise in my BBT?? App is now predicting tomorrow for ovulation, which puts AF starting on the last day of my holiday 😅 much better than in the middle!

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 26/04/2022 15:25

@WingingIt09 what does a rise mine? Last day is much better!

I've still not got peak or anywhere near on my tests so going to assume I've missed it this month or it'll drive me mad I think!

Summerbreeze111 · 26/04/2022 16:12

Wow that list has really grown, this is so exciting!

I am waiting for my period to come (expecting around 10 days) and then were going to try and go with the flow and not use protection. My cycles are pretty regular already as I've been off the pill for a while! Holding off using OPKs because I think I will obsess and worry and knowing me i will delay it! I will just have to make sure we regularly baby dance 💃, I am sure DP won't complain! I don't even have any tests in the house either, dare I buy them in, or will it turn me into a possed woman constantly testing before my period is due 😵‍💫

Anyone else TTC in may due to ovulate mid May? I am probably jumping the gun as were still in April 🤣

Perhaps we can start another thread too for those who have successfully conceived? (Unless there already is one!) Looking forward to seeing the group getting their positive preggars tests!

WingingIt09 · 26/04/2022 20:39

@Dreamingof3 a .2/.3 rise (attached a picture of a chart)

@Summerbreeze111 I'll be due to ovulate around 20/5 based on current cycle predictions but all dependent on when AF shoes this time.

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 26/04/2022 20:50

Ahh does that mean you've ovulated then? (Sorry not very knowledgeable on bbt 😅)

@Summerbreeze111 I've lost where I am a bit but probably ovulating mid/late may for our first cycle trying 🤩

WingingIt09 · 26/04/2022 21:08

@Dreamingof3 so your BBT starts to rise after ovulation apparently. Based on OPK peak I should be ovulating in the next 12-48 hours, so shouldn't be seeing it rise until the next few days. Will just have to wait and see what temp does over the next few days I guess. It's the first month I'm doing BBT so I don't really know what to expect.

OP posts:
tryingtryinggone · 26/04/2022 22:27

Cycle 2 CD1 for me today. Gutted to see AF turn up today but not surprised as we only DTD once in my potential fertile period. I forgot how all-consuming TTC can be. Here’s to this cycle!

anibendod · 27/04/2022 08:39

congrats @Brightonbelle87 , sending lots of sticky dust your way.

so I'm now 11dpo. I've had sore boobs for the past few days. last night I had cramping and the tiniest amount of spotting and felt like I had bit hit by a WALL of exhaustion. Today, more exhaustion, spotting and cramping. I'm not due on until Saturday and have never noticed spotting more than 1 day before AF so I'm hoping that it could be implantation bleeding. Tempted to test...

Brightonbelle87 · 27/04/2022 08:47

@tryingtryinggone sorry AF arrived, hopefully she'll be short and get out of the way for you to try again.

@anibendod thank you! Sounds promising! One of the clear blue early ones might show? Fingers crossed!

Dreamingof3 · 27/04/2022 09:23

@anibendod sounds promising! If you can wait a couple of days for a test I would just so you're not second guessing lines! Keep us posted 🤞

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 12:06

For anyone already with children. Just looking for some advice on SMP I thought as I worked for a local authority that they would have a good maternity pay scheme however this sadly isn't the case and has now really stressed me out. I earn a decent wage and so does my other half but not good enough where we feel we could rely on a single income. I find it horrendous how bad SMP is and just don't understand how people can survive on it and it making me question now if we can have a baby but then again I will be in this job for a long time so is there ever a right time. How did you all survive and manage on SMP?

LemonZestDribbles · 27/04/2022 12:09

@Cherrymarket that makes total sense! Annoyingly I forgot but put it beside my bed now. Think I've forgotten all this ttc malarkey 🙃

@WingingIt09 that would be so good if AF only appeared at the end of your holiday 🤞

@Dreamingof3 that's ashame on missing your peak - did you still dtd plenty?

@Summerbreeze111 I'd buy a few tests. I find if I don't have tests in the house I obsess but if I do have one in the house I try to avoid using it unless I really think it might be positive. It's the pee game 🤣

@tryingtryinggone here's to this cycle 🤞

@anibendod oooh that is tempting and promising symptoms. Are you going to?

DH told me last night that he had a really vivid dream that we had a daughter and he was doing a father of the bride speech at her wedding. He's now beyond keen to get pregnant and I'm feeling the pressure to provide a good egg and oven 😬😬 opks still faint atm

Dreamingof3 · 27/04/2022 12:13

@LemonZestDribbles were not trying this month so it isn't too much of an issue I just like to obsess 🤣

FourOclock · 27/04/2022 12:34

@lj2022 I don't have any advice unfortunately as I only qualified for maternity allowance with DC1 (was self employed) and it was shockingly low. Thankfully we are okay on just one wage though as our outgoings are low. Just wondering if you have looked at childcare costs as well? Not to be doom and gloom but it is so expensive to get back to work too so might be worth looking at in advance.

lj2022 · 27/04/2022 12:37

@FourOclock Thankyou I'm trying not to stress I'm sure we will make it work but it's just so bad. Childcare wise I know we will be okay as my mum works set days part time and my work could also condense my hours to 4 days meaning I'd probably only need 1 day childcare at most depending on how my dads health is as he can't work anymore but could do a few hours childcare too. The support for hard working people really is shocking.

LemonZestDribbles · 27/04/2022 12:45

@Dreamingof3 🤣🤣 love that level if dedication

@lj2022 like @FourOclock I was self employed so got maternity allowance. It was low but it was something. It really is rubbish though. We saved and could live on dh wage luckily. That sounds good on condensing work when you go back though

WingingIt09 · 27/04/2022 12:57

@tryingtryinggone sorry AF arrived :(

@anibendod that sounds promising. Fingers crossed

@lj2022 so is your scheme statutory maternity pay only or do they offer some occupational maternity pay as well. I get some occupational maternity pay with my job. It's something like 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half + statutory maternity pay, statutory maternity pay only for 7 weeks and then no pay for the last 19 weeks. It's tough to manage, I have taken the full year off the last 2 times and we have used our savings to cover the loss in income.

OP posts:
lj2022 · 27/04/2022 13:00

@WingingIt09 they do pay 90% for 6 weeks and 50% for 12 weeks so I think I would manage for that but it's the statutory that's awful. Time to hammer into the overtime and get saving to be able to take as long as possible off when the time comes. Thank goodness for being able to use Annual Leave too

Think I was just having a panic moment when I realised but it's good to hear of people managing I'm sure once we work it all out it would be fine

PinkButtercups · 27/04/2022 13:04

Hello. Took some time away.

Felt a bit nauseous a couple of nights a couple weeks ago.
Tested negative then but sure I could see a faint line.

Tester on Sunday and got my BFP.
According to my app I'm due around 3rd January 🥰🥰.
