How many months did it take to conceive your second baby? Particularly interested in answers where the age gap was a few years. Thanks!

First month both times but the 2nd time ended in a miscarriage, then took 3 months, ended in miscarriage again. 4 months later and I conceived and it all worked out!

Honestly, I think lots of people conceive pretty much every time that they have correctly timed sex. Whilst some take longer and others struggle it really is the norm to conceive relatively easily up until mid 30's and often beyond.

I didn't have that experience myself and it took ages both times, first was IVF and second was a surprise natural between IVF's - proof that subfertile does not mean infertile!

First was an accident! I was taking antibiotics and they obviously stopped my pill working. 2nd was 5 years later. I stopped the pill and had bleeding a few days later then got pregnant straight afterwards. I did use ovulation prediction strips and they must of been accurate.

Everyone works so differently though, I hope you aren't putting pressure on yourself

One month for both, although neither were planned 4 year age gap. DC1 was one month after I came off the pill, DC2 was one month after DH came back from working away from home and I'd gotten lax with taking the pill while he was away

The age gap was 16-17 months. I was definitely not trying!!
I was breastfeeding, taking mini pill (possibly not entirely on time I guess..), hadn't had a period yet, and had had sex only a handful of times....

I was scared to have sex ever again after the second was born!

Straight away for the first. 2 years later it was 3months or trying, an early miscarriage and then pregnant again on first cycle after the miscarriage (made dates very tricky!)

First month both times (although did have a MC before DC1 but conceived again the month after). 2 years 3 months between two DC.

How fascinating to see that many people conceived on cycle 1 multiple times!

I'm not in this group, my first pregnancy and my pregnancy with my dd we're both conceived on cycle 8. Currently cycle 5 ttc#2. Will I have a hat trick?

1st month for baby one
complete surprise for baby 2 (apparently ovulating on day 8 of a usually 28 day cycle is a thing). 1 year 8 month gap since first baby
now at 3 years and 7 months for the hopeful third of trying (started trying with a 3 year 2 month gap)

I'll give the opposite. Three years and a round of ivf for DS. Currently pregnant (albeit very early days) with a sibling. First month of trying.

Have been pregnant 4 times and have 2 children

1st pregnancy first month of trying - MMC
2nd pregnancy two months of trying - child
3rd pregnancy first month of trying - MMC
4th pregnancy two months of trying - child

Age was 33 for first pregnancy and 36 for last

I have conceived 7 times. 4 mc and 3 babies.

All within 2 months.

But I know quite a few people who conceived in month 1-3 first time, and then took months/years the second time.

5 pregnancies: 3 children, 2 miscarriages

1st was an accident in a new relationship resulted in mc (now DH, 20+ years together)
10 years later: 1st month
5 months later: accident resulted in mc then pregnant again before first period
5 years later: 1st month

I think our dna must mix well together. We're aware of how very lucky we are.

DC1 - 1st month.
DC2 (currently pregnant) - 4th month.

I had started to worry that it wasn’t going to happen because from what I’d read on here it seemed that for DC2 it either happens straight away or takes 12+ months! There didn’t seem to be many in the “normal range”, but it happened! :) and I was tracking ovulation every month and DTD lots.
