How many months did it take to conceive your second baby? Particularly interested in answers where the age gap was a few years. Thanks!

First month both times - 2 year age gap.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 06/02/2022 21:16

Around 5 months 3 years later but it was a bit haphazard as I was second guessing myself as I had postpartum psychosis with dc1 plus I was 40. Certainly the cycle I conceived dc2 in was the first time I was sure I was ovulating.

First month with both mine, and I have a 3.5 year age gap. This time, who knows. First month this month and it would be a nearly 10 year gap, but don’t think I am going to get BFP this cycle (and wasn’t expecting to!) Good luck.

Thanks ladies. Haven’t started ttc number 2 yet, but planning to start soon, so just wanted to manage my expectations really!

NatriumChloride · 06/02/2022 21:34

15 month age gap, both conceived in the first month of trying. My third has a 18m age gap from the second, also conceived in the first month of trying.

Cheekypeach · 06/02/2022 21:36

Wow it looks like conceiving first month can be a bit of a pattern rather than luck. Fingers crossed that’s also true for me!

2.5 years apart, both conceived first month. Second one I can pinpoint conception to the day as we only had sex once that cycle. Luckily DC1 took an opportunely-timed nap. I did BBT charting both times though so I knew the best time to try.

FawnFrenchieMum · 06/02/2022 21:39

First month trying for all four pregnancies, first two sadly ended in miscarriage. Due to complications in the second miscarriage we had to wait 12 months before trying again. Then waited 5 years before trying for our second child.

Gindrinker43 · 06/02/2022 21:45

Coil out Thursday, conceived Saturday night. It was a nice hotel 😉

SoManyTshirts · 06/02/2022 21:47

I think these replies are self selection to be honest. Don't pin your hopes on it happening immediately. We conceived first time with first baby and going to try again for the third month in a few weeks. I'd give it at least six months.
