Trouble titties, windy 🌬 bums, & full stockings of old 💦…TTC bus 50

When you don’t think about your days as “Monday Tuesday Wednesday” you think of them as “fertile week” or “CD12” we know the feeling.

We’ve tried baby dust (back in early 2020 I think we stopped believing in that!?, we’ve tried chocolate/pizza & sofa sex (remember that? Late 2020, that got a lot of babies!) and now we are onto manifesting, testing, pleading & yet there’s still some unwanted bleeding🤣😂well tough titties we are here to stay til we get those BFPs🤞🏻🙌🏻we just need to rinse out our foofs & get the nurses to wade through our stocking full of old sperm 💦

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out. We’ve had multiples, some losses so know two lines can be just as terrifying as none, and we’ve got ladies where those two lines are more illusive than a white Christmas 🎅🏻

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

If you see mention of Instagram I have a public account where a lot of people are linked too:
Minstermusings, and a few people have created new anonymous accounts to record their TTC journey/life stupidities m/general annoyances on…just don’t mention TTC on a personal account.

Kirky658 · 18/11/2021 11:01

@inkypaper hope your SIL is being looked after x

paintfairy · 18/11/2021 11:10

Thanks everyone! Its so bizarre not being able to tell anyone IRL. So I'm glad I've got you guys. I still can't honestly believe it. I actually dreamt it was negative. In the time I managed to sleep that is. 🙄 I had hot progesterone itches. I have never ever seen 2 lines on a test in anything other than a photo. Its just bizarre. DH is walking around saying ridiculous things. The house will never be finished on time (still need 1 more round of plastering) and this all needs clearing off (wafting his hand at the junk on the kitchen table). 🤣🤣🤣 He's hilarious. 🙄 I said I think we have time to do that. He dreamt his world would be turned upside down last night. So maybe that was accurate. 🤭 I suppose we just need it to stick now. But the fact we have managed this bit, shows where the issue lay, I guess. If we can bypass that then there's hopefully a good chance for us.

@Juno231 🤪 erm, yeah to the transfer location. Whatever is least logical. And if course you'll be next. You are younger than me! Even better stats.
@clolo we will get an early scan through the clinic. I'm not sure when. Otd is tomorrow so I can't call them until then!
@InkyPaper that's awful. Did she catch it in hospital when she went in to have the baby? Or before? The information is unclear. And no one can know if its safe in pregnancy really (not enough time has passed). So I don't blame people for deciding not to. I'm not vaccinated and have no intention of getting it, for that reason. I know its a risk. Whether I'll change my mind moving forwards I don't know. But right now, I'm not planning to have it. I will however be very cautious who I mingle with.

DKDK123 · 18/11/2021 11:17

Oh no @Franklydear I hope your DS doesn't get symptoms too bad and that you manage to escape it.

@Juno231 what a busy couple of days you have ahead. Glad the trial transfer went well tho, it's brining you one more step closer.

@larrythelizard I hope your DS is psychic but I hope mine isn't as he said to me yesterday that if I die he's going to look after his baby sister 😲 I should be pleased he's going to be an amazing big brother but the fact he didn't even have a hint of sadness about bumping me off, think he just doesn't want to share the baby 🙈

@xoJellyBean success story here with fibroids (13x11, 6x4 & 2x2 cm) I think they all were at last measurements. Tho what the docs will do with fibroids is individual a it very much depends on size, location and the impact they're having. My 2 smaller ones they rarely comment on as they're high up, my larger one is right above my cervix so it's automatic c section and makes for a tricky pregnancy due to trying to get access to baby during the section without cutting it, high blood loss and limited room for baby while growing. However I have successfully had one DS and currently pregnant with #2 so try not to worry too much about having them. They may even be able to remove yours, mine can't be removed until I'm finished having children as theres too high a risk of needing to do a hysterectomy if I start bleeding too much just due to the location and how it's attached, but I know of others who have had theirs removed with no problems.

@paintfairy our scan appointments are already generated by the time we go to the booking appointment and the midwife just hands us the letter. After hearing my journey she was so apologetic that my scan was so far away but couldn't actually change it. I'm guessing with covid regulations they're probably doing less scans per day to allow deeper cleaning, less in the waiting room so are probably behind schedule a bit.

@bea14 he somehow sensed it when I was only 4 1/2 weeks and kept telling me my tummy wasn't broken anymore his little sister was in there. We'd had so many losses that I kept denying it to him but he was adement. We finally confirmed it to him after an 8 week scan as he wouldn't stop talking about it anyways. He's so excited, but still utterly convinced it's a sister and won't entertain the idea that it might be a brother so we'll definitely be getting a gender scan to give him time to get over the disappointment if its a boy!
Gagging on your Toothbrush is definitely a good sign 😂 are you starting to believe it's real yet?

Only 2 1/2 weeks till your gender scan @Minster2012 how exciting 😊 if you've managed to hold off telling DS till now it might be worth holding off till the scan so you can say you're having a brother/sister save him getting his hopes up about one or the other during the wait. I'm dreading breaking the news to DS if ours is a boy 🙈

@paintfairy 🥳🥳🥳🥳 amazing!!!!! So happy for you 😁

@inkypaper I keep thinking of your poor SIL and her little baby that should be snuggling with it's mummy right now 😢 So glad you've a family that are rallying round to help with the baby but how devestating that those precious first moments have been taken from your SIL. Shall keep everything crossed she makes a full and speedy recovery.

2020mission · 18/11/2021 11:31

I've missed what's happened to you SIL @InkyPaper it sounds horrible 🥺 did she catch covid after giving birth to her baby? Sorry I should probably get back on the old thread and try and catch up I'm sure you've shared the details already. I hope she recovers I'm glad to hear she's stable but sounds like a long journey ahead! Hope you're doing ok too as that happening in the family along with your ongoing fertility appointments can't be easy.

Minster2012 · 18/11/2021 11:34

@InkyPaper sending lots of strength your way, I think it really does show that it's good to be vaccinated, it's so scary. When I went to both the EPU and the antenatal clinic the other day it was plastered on so many posters around "pregnant? Get vaccinated" let's hope she's over the worst and now is only up!

@paintfairy your DH is ridiculously funny!! Obviously in shock! But get that kitchen table cleared!! (If it's anything like mine then it gets cleared then full again the next day!") you could use his wish to get things done to really push now! Maybe a recap of your story for those that haven't been here as long?

@DKDK123 yes I've thought of that not telling DS til the time of the scan, I'm swaying towards doing that!

@larrythelizard what I miss?

OP posts:
InkyPaper · 18/11/2021 11:36

Thanks everyone ❤️ she caught it before she gave birth and things went south very quickly (it was a reason why she had to have a c-section as the baby was starting to struggle). So yeah, if you're not vaccinated be extra, extra careful.

Franklydear · 18/11/2021 11:39

@DKDK123 fingers crossed, so far so good, I am still clear, and his biggest annoyance is that he can't see his friend this weekend
@Minster2012 I like the idea of you're having a little brother/sister, I might be able to pinch it one day

Somatronic · 18/11/2021 11:52

@InkyPaper that's awful, I can't imagine how tough this is on your family. I hope she improves soon. We had very high rates of covid cases in pregnant women or women who recently had babies here because they didn't get vaccinated. In fairness, the advice for a long time was very confusing.

@Franklydear I hope you guys are all doing OK too.

@paintfairy I'm so thrilled for you! Congratulations it's amazing news.

I went to the endocrinologist today and it wasn't great. The thyroid is bad and only going to get worse apparently, and I'll be on increasing doses of meds for life. I didn't realise that. Any change in other hormones will make the thyroid go nuts aswell, which is great given all the fertility treatments I'll presumably need! I'm getting a tonne of autoimmune/hormone tests in 2 weeks and I'll need thyroid bloods every month for the foreseeable. Oh well.

bez91 · 18/11/2021 11:52

@Juno231 "make sure my passage is clear" 😂technical terminology there.

@paintfairy so so thrilled for you! All positive thoughts missus!

@InkyPaper that's awful for you all. Really hope she makes a good recovery and quickly. Sending love 💕

Juno231 · 18/11/2021 12:49

@InkyPaper I can't believe she's still in critical condition and missed all this time with her baby 🥺

@bez91 I'm like a profesh doc innit 😎

@Somatronic sorry to hear about your thyroid - did they suggest taking it out at all? My friend with graves had hers removed last year specifically so she could get TTC asap

DKDK123 · 18/11/2021 12:50

Hmm, will buses of the future no longer have POAS addicts!? 🤔 Can't see them selling many tho as they're reliable from the first day of a missed period, do they realise most women can't wait that long to test! And really if dealing with a bit of wee isn't for you then you're really not ready for motherhood 😂 I have a feeling these were designed by men.

metro.co.uk/2021/11/16/theres-now-a-pregnancy-test-that-you-dont-have-to-pee-on-15611081/

Manifestingbaby · 18/11/2021 12:56

@DKDK123 🤣 they seem utterly pointless! Don't think they consulted with anyone who has ever actually gone through the whole ttc circus 🤦‍♀️

Franklydear · 18/11/2021 13:30

@DKDK123 they're not selling it to me, and wait until the baby pees on you!

paintfairy · 18/11/2021 13:33

@DKDK123 🤣 I was going to say who on earth has ever thought it was an issue poas and had a problem doing so. But then actually I laughed to myself when I realised that I was that person. Not being able to hold wee for more than an hour in the night. I'll happily pee on my hand though, no problem there.

@Minster2012 good idea. A recap for the newbies (and a reminder for the rest).

TTC #1 since forever. I'm 38 and DH is 47. I came off the pill in June 2018 to get my body prepared. We briefly tried in December 18 but then DH proposed and I decided I wanted a wedding before a baby (if only I knew). In the summer of 2019 i went to the GP because I was spotting in my LP. Sometimes more bleeding really. They did 2 pelvic scans but seemed disinterested.
Started trying properly again in December 19. I called the GP in August 2020 and said we'd been trying a year. Given our age and my unresolved issue, I felt best not to leave it. Actually managed to speak to GP themselves in September who referred me for blood tests. Day 2 and 21 blood tests took forever because they ballsed it up more than once. They originally put my hospital referral through in November but it bounced back because they did it wrong. We finally had correct blood tests by January 2021 and my referral went through again. Got a call in February and first video consultation 2 weeks later. I had a hsg in March. In my CCG they recommend IUI first and you get 3 rounds (I think you can forfeit this but no one actually told me that) and then you only get 1 IVF round. First round April, second June, third July. All pointless. Filled out IVF paperwork in August (my CCG uses external clinics for IVF). Clinic called me in September and we had a SA and scan within 2 weeks, followed by a video consultation. Luckily we caught my next cycle and I started downreg the following week. We only had 2 decent embryos, one put in and one frozen. And I'm still sat here in disbelief that I have a positive test.

I can honestly say I can't fault the speed of most of it. I know people are impatient but I don't think I could have physically done it faster had I paid. I'm lucky in my area.

The success rates for my age at my clinic (which are good btw) is only 26% pregnancy rate and 19% live birth rate. So I honestly was not expecting anything.....

larrythelizard · 18/11/2021 13:36

I looked at the article @DKDK123 - a 'more dignified and inclusive' way to find out you're pregnant 😂😂😂 as if anything about pregnancy/childbirth is dignified or indeed that inclusive. Perhaps they could invent a way to get the father of the baby to do the first birth shit so it's an inclusive experience??

@Minster2012 I was talking to DS bout my sister being pregnant and having a tiny baby and he replied 'no, mummy have a tiny baby'...maybe one day eh?!

paintfairy · 18/11/2021 14:48

I've set up a 2nd insta account and sent requests to as many of you as I could find. So I can share my ttc stuff. So if you have a weird request, its me!

Juno231 · 18/11/2021 14:58

@paintfairy oh I'd never thought about the fact you waited a year to start investigations when you were entitled to do it 6 months in! Silly sausage but hindsight is a beautiful thing hey.

"I'd happily pee on my hand" needs to be ear market for the next title inspo @Minster2012 - surely!

paintfairy · 18/11/2021 15:03

@Juno231 I think I just felt they wouldn't take me seriously until a year! And I've peed on worse. 🤭
@clolo whilst I know who some people are on here and there, others I'm still yet to work out! They aren't obvious. 🤣

Somatronic · 18/11/2021 15:04

@Juno231 no, she won't remove it now that it's underactive. We should have removed it back when I had the chance but we didn't. I wasn't too worried because the deal was if I ever came out of Graves remission she'd remove it, but I never thought I'd end up with hashimotos too so it's a bit of a mess.

@paintfairy thanks for the recap. It's good to read about other people's stories and yours gives me hope! Hope you have a lovely weekend now to celebrate.

I was talking to DH today after my appointment and he was reassuring me that we'll get there in the end and not to worry. I suggested we'll have to rob a bank. He said we'll have to rob a baby at this stage 😂😂 Go the direct route. Made me laugh. I'm having a bad day at work so I need all the lols I can get!

paintfairy · 18/11/2021 17:45

@Somatronic 🤣 might be easier to rob a baby to be fair. Quicker certainly.
So, can they get it under control? It does sound a worry. I hope so for ttc purposes. I'm not sure about the hormones though, whether those type affect it? I suppose they would. I suspect they would monitor it very closely though?

Somatronic · 18/11/2021 18:20

Yeah she said any interference with other hormones will affect my thyroid. So it was either the letrozole or some crazy antibody activity that caused it to go underactive again. The tests in 2 weeks should tell us which one is to blame.

Then she has to constantly monitor me to make sure my thyroid bloods are absolutely perfect all the time as I can deteriorate quickly. Hence the monthly bloods and phone calls with her.

Hopefully it'll be fine then and I can go ahead with the next step fertility-wise without worrying about the bastard thyroid. Then if I get pregnant I have a whole new set of thyroid probs but I'll deal with that when I get there hopefully!

Franklydear · 18/11/2021 19:21

@Somatronic looks like you're receiving good care, hopefully you'll be pregnant soon too

Funniest question of track and trace, who lives in the house with ds? Just me and my husband, ok, is he an adult over 18? Errrm, yes( should I be offended by this?)

Minster2012 · 18/11/2021 19:21

Big catch up after a day offline (after the big news of course @paintfairy 😊

@Somatronic I'm sorry about that thyroid news, I'm on other hormone treatment & quite a lot else & fortunately the fertility/ivf drugs didn't interfere with them so you might be ok 🤞🏻let's stay positive, and if all else fails, Rob that baby. Good back up plan. So maybe it was the thyroid that messed up the letrozole?

@DKDK123 shit I have just realised from that article the reason I prob got negative tests in the past was cos I was weeing on my hand not the stick!! Now they tell me 😂😂! Maybe in Israel they don't POAS early? I did actually comment earlier to someone from the thread that it was so nice to actually have a test to look forwards to from @paintfairy it seems so long since we have, I think it was maybe @clolo? As we've all been so scared (and TTC weary) to be like "ooooo I will test from 10dpo" 😬

@paintfairy what a lovely recap! And we know you didn't believe it would work, but it can!! 🎉🙌🏻you can't fault the speed of the ivf stuff but your bloods were a joke last year. I didn't realise your DH was 47. Honestly it's so good 😊

@larrythelizard ahhh I see I missed that, let's hope it's another psychic child. I'm working on it mate, working on it, ask your daddy 😂

Notes for new bus (but we'll have forgotten by then!) "make sure my passage is clear" from Dr @Juno231 and "I'd happily pee on my hand" from @paintfairy ...you probably did at 5am!

Pheewwwwww

Right so it's a scan for @DKDK123 tomorrow for 13 weeks, and @blackcurrantqueen at 30 something weeks? Anything else going on??

@Amy00 how are you darling?
