When you don’t think about your days as “Monday Tuesday Wednesday” you think of them as “fertile week” or “CD12” we know the feeling.

We’ve tried baby dust (back in early 2020 I think we stopped believing in that!?, we’ve tried chocolate/pizza & sofa sex (remember that? Late 2020, that got a lot of babies!) and now we are onto manifesting, testing, pleading & yet there’s still some unwanted bleeding🤣😂well tough titties we are here to stay til we get those BFPs🤞🏻🙌🏻we just need to rinse out our foofs & get the nurses to wade through our stocking full of old sperm 💦

Whether you are TTC “normally”, IUI/ivf or anything we are a crew that cling together to the bitter end & always ready to help a sister out. We’ve had multiples, some losses so know two lines can be just as terrifying as none, and we’ve got ladies where those two lines are more illusive than a white Christmas 🎅🏻

It costs an embarrassing story for your ticket, doesn’t have to be TTC related as we know laughing when TTC is needed.

@DKDK123 bleh that's crap news - I agree about getting NIPT though, I think it's meant to be 99% accurate for downs

@larrythelizard the hospital are going to run another more accurate blood test on Monday which I'm guessing is similar to the harmony test but still isn't guaranteed I'd need the more invasive one for that which is a down right no. We're not fussed regardless of the outcome, I'm a special needs teacher so it doesn't phase me, obviously it would be good to know 100% so we could prepare ourselves better but we'll read up on everything anyways so that we are as best prepared as we can be just incase. The urgency of it scared me a bit initially as was told today and have the appointment on Monday which seems pretty urgent but I suppose if people do decide they don't want to continue with the pregnancy it's better to know earlier.

@Juno231, the only thing that would worry me about having a kid with downs syndrome is the increased medical problems they can have, but all kids find a way of worrying you regardless, parenthood is just one big worry 😂 DH is at work just now, his response was who cares if it does turn out to have DS, its part of our family regardless......tho I will warn you in advance anyone does anything to take advantage or hurt our child when it's growing up just because it has special needs, I will do jail time for them. I take that as a good response 😂

@DKDK123 oh god. Which scan was this picked up on? Why can things just not go smoothly? I honestly have no idea about the tests etc so can't advise.

@paintfairy at your 12 week scan they do a measurement below the babies neck and this combined with a blood test they do helps to determine your risk factor. It said for my age the risk factor is typically 1 in 200 and something but mine came back 1 in 84. They're going to run another blood test on Monday thats something like 85 - 90% accurate I think it said (so I'm guessing it must be similar to the harmony one, not quite as accurate but comes without the £400 price tag so we'll go with it!)

@DKDK123 depending on your trust they may offer you NIPT as their next step, it's very dependent on area (mine is useless, others it is standard next step!) Lots of things can influence those results, so hopefully you are in the other 82 of the 83 🤞🏼 I totally agree with you on the spectrum of medical conditions that come alongside a DS diagnosis, but hopefully if it got to that stage these things would become clear x

So girls, just had a phone call from the booking office at the hospital and my first appointment is on Monday!! A phone appointment but I'm so so happy, I was expecting to be waiting forever!! They said it would be better if OH was present but if he isn't it might just take a bit longer but I'm going to ring him now and see if he can go into work a little later, I'm so so happy!!

Also weird but I'm due tomorrow, I've had no spotting, af pains aren't as bad as they usually are, I usually spot 2 days prior to af and check out my rhr, I mean I've been in this game far tool long to know to get my hopes up, but just curious!

@blackcurrantqueen coming out of the fog, DH is entering it, funny watching him trying to follow a conversation, I am having funny tummy aches and some chest discomfort, nothing worrisome but annoying

We are not too bad and as nothing can be done about it, we are going to meal plan and select movies and treat it as a little forced staycation, with the occasional zoom meeting, making lemonade hard here

I try not to think things like that @Minster2012 because I quickly descend into a why her and not me comparison in my head with real people too which is not useful for me at all! I'm actually quite in awe of Katie Price in terms of how much money she's made off literally nothing!

@DKDK123 I hope you find out some answers soon just for maybe peace of mind for you or prepare for things ahead, I’m not up on the tests so I can’t really comment what’s best route, I’m glad to see it doesn’t change anything for you guys, I used to work with LD students in collage supporting life skills however I’m probably not the best candidate as I couldn’t cook 🤣🙈❤️
@vil10 I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders as I was more worried about DH getting worse SAs if we were to wait until august next year and him potentially prolonging his pain issues for even longer than expected 😫 good luck with your appointment on Monday 🤞🏻 I hope your one of the lucky ones when you’ve been waiting all this time and your BFP surprises you round the corner :p

@Franklydear I'd say all bets are off with being sick, your cycle could do anything. Haven't had it but both jabs affected mine.

@DKDK123 what a fantastic answer from OH! Odds are still in your favour mind you, 1 in 83 is not anything certain!

@paintfairy it's called a nuchal scan and it's part of the 12 week scan. You can test it more accurately privately via blood sample from 10 weeks though.

@Vil10 they'll just go through all your details and results so far and set up next steps like HSG, extra blood tests etc. Very straight forward.

@larrythelizard im a cold person, ALWAYS the big coat and it's freezing here so I'm regretting not bringing a scarf (cos my coat is VERY difficult to close over my boobs now) or gloves!

So- would appreciate yours thoughts on my latest breakdown. Yes my rhr has dropped again, but it's not that. 🙄
I'm not sure how many of you have had progesterone on here but I'm on pessaries obviously. 3 x 200mg a day. A delight. I'm only scheduled to be on these until 8 weeks. Then they just stop. I'm not going to lie- the thought of this scares the hell out of me. Getting to that point and then- bam. 🙈 Especially when both the hospital and clinic declared i had low progesterone due to the LP spotting. I have googled (obviously this is all factual 🤣) and it seems mixed. One article claimed that the placenta took over the progesterone from the point you can see the heartbeat on a scan, so at 6-8 weeks. Many others say anywhere between 8 and 12 weeks, with the average being 10 weeks. So I still feel concerned? My scan is at 8 weeks and I will at that point raise this, but what if they refuse to give me more? 🤷‍♀️
Although I'm nhs, the progesterone actually isn't funded past your positive test (go figure) and therefore its not like they are paying for nothing. Because I would have to pay myself. Which also brings me to ranting that 3 boxes of it, that I collected today, is £98! Not really sure if that's average price but because I'm funded (but not) I have no option but to buy direct from the clinic.
Am I justified in my concern? 🤔 DH said oh just go buy some anyway. I was like- i can't, its prescription only. Men. 🙄

@paintfairy I think I mentioned before but my RHR remained the same for the first half of this pregnancy and has only increased slightly from 6 months and then a little more at 7 months, so I definitely wouldn't use it as a sign of pregnancy progress in the early months! I'm sure @Kirky658 said a while back that hers never increased in early pregnancy too? I can't advise on the progesterone as I've never had any but just wanted to let you know not to worry about RHR.

@Vil10 glad to hear your appointment is booked and your no spotting is a good sign. I used to spot for 3-5 days before AF except for when I had a BFP! But even if AF does come you've got that appointment to move forward with now at least. It felt as though as soon as I got my assisted conception unit appointment through we no longer needed it so I would be great if the same happens for you 🤞
