I don't know. Not even a week into November and sadly some are out for this month.

If you're dreaming of a white Christmas and you're definitely on Santa's NAUGHTY list, this is the one for you. Not a December bus but a December SLEIGH!

So go Dasher, go Dancer, go Prancer and Vixen! We don't want you to bring us those toys. Please stuff our stockings full of BFP joy!

That's a good plan @AmberRH1993. I'm ok but feel a bit sick this morning. Tiredness will hit me later - I was still awake at 2am and up at 7.25! I need at least 8 hours to function usually!

Thanks @beckybabyx, I hadn't seen that on the app before!

10dpo here, BFN, no symptoms whatsoever, nothing feels different.

So DH is very much looking forward to the next fertile window which is essentially between Christmas and New Year!

HRHXO · 13/12/2021 09:26

Morning all

@Squiff70 and @beckybabyx yay congratulations! So happy for you both, hoping for sticky beans and a healthy pregnancy for you both!

So yesterday I finally got s flashing smiley on CB OPK and a high reading on my easy@home strips which has followed over to today as well. My apps (I'm using 3 😅) think I was due to ovulate yesterday today or tomorrow. Didn't DTD yesterday but did the night before and we will aim to do it tonight and tomorrow!

I feel like I'm quite far behind you all, AF should be due around 27th/28th!

Mariabombia · 13/12/2021 10:10

Hi all,

Firstly just want to say a massive congrats to @Squiff70 & @beckybabyx 🎉🎉🎉 such wonderful news!!!!

Up until now I have been lurking in the background reading everyone’s posts but not saying anything 🤦‍♀️ It’s so nice to see everyone supporting each other on this crazy journey!

I’m really new to TTC. My husband and I married a few months ago & since then we have just been trying to be really relaxed about it. Neither of us have any children and we’re both in our early 30s.

However rather naively I thought it would have happened by now…. Aunt Flo came this weekend a bit late and I couldn’t help but feel upset. I know this probably sounds ridiculous after only a few months of trying but I can feel myself starting to stress about it. You spend so much of your life trying not to get pregnant and then when you want to it turns out not to be that easy!

Anyway if anyone has any advice on how to relax about it all please let me know 🙄

I’m going to try the clear blue ovulation tests this month, does anyone know why it says to use it from like day 10 and not straight after your period? (I’ve never used ovulation sticks before) obviously in a perfect world we’d all ovulate in the middle of the month but just hypothetically if I ovulate straight after Aunt Flo I wouldn’t know about it if I didn’t start testing until day 10?

I’ve no idea when I ovulate as I’ve tried to track CM for the last couple of months but when you’re TTC it’s not that easy 🤪

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, thannks guys xxx 😽

Janey3090 · 13/12/2021 11:58

Oh wow, huge congratulations on your BFP @Squiff70
You have been so lovely and supportive on this thread and absolutely deserve this. So happy for you!!

Huge congratulations @beckybabyx what a strong line for 10DPO, that's amazing!! So happy for you Flowers

I'm now 3DPO and already impatient, my DH is so hopeful this month bless him. I really hope he doesn't end up disappointed x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/12/2021 12:23

@Mariabombia hi! I’m on month 8 trying to conceive number 1. We are also both early thirties.

If you have regular periods I don’t think it’s possible to ovulate straight after a period. Your body needs to build the lining it has just lost in the period. I have a 32 day cycle, I find that day 10 is too early to start OPKs - it is just a waste of money and plastic. I start a few days after this and then get flashing smileys until a static smiley on day 17 usually. However, they can cause stress and to be brutally honest unless you don’t have regular sex, and you need to time it, you don’t really need to use them. Whilst they indicate a hormone change, they cannot confirmed you’ve actually released an egg. The general rule is regular sex, particularly in the fertile week (FW) is most important. We have sex every other day ish, maybe a bit more in the fertile week. However if you don’t have regular sex, the OPKs can make timing everything much easier.

Oh and I find CM to be a very obvious indicator of when I’m about to ovulate. Some people don’t get it as clearly as others, but the raw egg white CM helps and protects the sperm on its journey and is pretty crucial for conception abs survival of sperm.

It is totally normal to question why it hasn’t happened because we are all programmed to believe that as soon as you’re not using contraception, you’ll get pregnant. It is not true at all. Everything in your body needs to be right at that moment. Lots and lots of people do conceive first time, lots don’t. I have learnt that the hard way and I’m still waiting for my BFP - trying to trust the timing of nature and believe it will happen when it’s right. I did have my bloods done last month to check all was normal and it was.

Hope you get your BFP soon - hope some of that is helpful. I have learnt SO MUCH so far on this journey. It is a minefield and a lot to take in, particularly for us ladies.

X

StephC85 · 13/12/2021 13:36

@Mariabombia im ttc #3 i had the implant removed on 25th August and didn’t have proper Af until 16th October, since then i’ve been tracking and have 27 day cycles, however had no luck picking up positive ovulation on CB until November got my static smiley face on 18th November which was just 4 days after my period stopped. My period came as expected on 7th December and stopped on 10th December, i used CB ovulation on 11th and got negative result but yesterday and today I’ve had a flashing smiley face so predict static smiley tomorrow. What im trying to say is that everyone is different so even with “regular cycles” it is possible for CB to pick up on high fertility/peak fertility not long after your period stops. This is why i hadn’t picked up ovulation in September or October as i was testing too late. What this means for me I don’t know - obviously no guarantee i will actually ovulate but i am slightly worried that my LH surge is being detected so soon after coming off AF . Good luck to you xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/12/2021 15:00

@Mariabombia - also note it’s common for people to get many days of flashing smileys before they get a static, especially if you start earlier in your cycle. Some people get 5, some 9 etc! First one tends to be blank because it’s your ‘baseline’ measure!

Tinkerbell098 · 13/12/2021 15:35

Massive congratulations to @Squiff70 and @beckybabyx !!! You both deserve this. Good luck for the next 9 months and beyond!
I think I’m 9 dpo (stopped with CB opks after 4 flashing smileys as I was away after that and had no chance of DTD, hence didn’t see the point in testing). No symptoms whatsoever and think I’m out this month as didn’t get to DTD up to O. Think I will be joining the January thread soon.

Natalie2304 · 13/12/2021 16:29

@beckybabyx congratulations! Lovely clear line! Wishing you and all the other ladies a happy, healthy 9 months!

I've been keeping updated with all the posts but keeping quiet as I don't want to get too stressed about it this month. But it's been lovely to see you all being so supportive of one another 🥰

I am 8DPO today and noticed a red spot of blood in my CM a few hours ago, only when wiping and now nothing at all. I've also had sharp pains in my left side.
Has anyone had IB before a BFP?
I never had it with DD but heard it is a thing and bearing in mind my LP is usually 11 days, 8DPO is probably about right for implantation

BabyBird20 · 13/12/2021 18:26

Congratulations @Squiff70 and @beckybabyx!
This is such a positive thread it's helping keep me sane in the tww.

As much as I promised myself I wouldn't symptom spot I am really suffering from heart burn, indigestion and nausea today! Only 6/7 dpo so my brain tells me it's not at all related but I keep hoping! Anyone else had this?

Mariabombia · 13/12/2021 19:41

@FlyOnTheWall89
Thanks for your kind message, it was helpful and you’re right, it really is a bloody minefield for us isn’t it!

Logically I know it’s a bit of a numbers game and it takes people around a year on average so I shouldn’t feel stressed about it but I guess your mind just play overtime doesn’t it?

Could I ask you how you got the doctor to do your bloods for fertility? Did they do anything else? I’ve heard people say they won’t do any tests until you’ve been trying for a year or more.

Really glad your tests came back normal, hopefully you’ll get your BFP soon 🙏🏻💕

Xxx

& Thanks @StephC85, this is what was concerning me! I think I’ll try do it from the recommended time this month and then if I don’t get it right & no BFP I’ll try earlier in Jan. But I guess if we just DTD as much as poss we can’t really go wrong 🤣

Maybe your ovulation time will change the longer you’re off of the implant? Hopefully you get your static tomorrow! Wishing you all the best xxx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/12/2021 20:19

@Mariabombia haha yes very easy to say one should stay chilled, but it is really really hard. I was exactly the same but have had months of slight despair - however I think now I’m more chilled because I just don’t expect anything each month.

They tested for everything bracketed under fertility screening …. except progesterone which I haven’t got round to doing just yet - it needs to be done 7 days before AF and checks ovulation actually took place. As I said LH is always present in small amounts in your body and can rise for ovulation but for a number of reasons, your egg could not arrive to meet the patiently waiting sperm (blocked tubes etc). Oh and I need an egg reserve check too but from my other data, I thinkkkk it’s okay. You can buy a package which includes all the above and an internal ultrasound where they can check for various things. I had one in May (not for fertility reasons) and she said I had ovulated and it was ‘nice and big’ so I take some comfort in that too. It varies in price - I am London based so it’s probably on the higher end of prices at £375 ish. You can also get a couple package. For peace of mind, for me, being 32 nearly 33 I wanted some initial stuff done. My mum took 3 years to have me so that plays on my mind too and we would love a big family so I didn’t really want it to take this long.

I guess they also note your weight and general lifestyle, all of which were perfect for me. You are right, it is a numbers game and also a bit of luck. You’re very likely to conceive before the 6 month mark according to stats, so be excited for the next few months. Wishing you all the best xx

Squiff70 · 13/12/2021 21:22

@Decaffe at 10DPO no symptoms is not a bad thing - I didn't have any either and still don't except mild waves of nausea. BFN now doesn't necessarily mean BFN three or four days from now. I'm still hopeful for you!

Thank you @HRHXO! Hope you're enjoying all the DTD and that you get your BFP right at Christmas - that would be perfect, I'm sure :)

Hi and welcome @Mariabombia! It's nice to have another friendly lady on board this wild ride. Like you, I have found everyone on this thread and previous threads started by other ladies so supportive and caring. You're certainly in the best company on your journey! When you said "You spend so much of your life trying not to get pregnant and then when you want to it turns out not to be that easy!" I smiled, actually, because a whole conversation kicked off on a previous thread about exactly that. It's drummed into us from a young age how to prevent unwanted pregnancies and that we MUST do X, Y and Z. When you willingly get rid of X, Y and Z technically you should fall pregnant straight away based on that logic but nope, sadly it isn't like that for many couples. I'm not much use on advising you to relax as the first cycle we had I was pretty obsessed. By the third cycle I was less obsessed and not POAS every day ecept in my fertile window but when I got to 10DPO yesterday I decided literally on my way to the bathroom that I would do a test. I didn't plan to test. I've never used the CB ovulation sticks so don't really know how they work, sorry.

Thanks so much @Janey3090! I'm glad you find this thread supportive and caring - I do too. Hope you get your BFP this month x

Thanks also @Tinkerbell098! You might not be as out as you think. Do you plan to test in the next few days anyway?

@Natalie2304 that sounds positive! 8DPO would be about right. Will you test in a few days?

Glad we're helping keep you sane @BabyBird20! Positive signs for you too - keep the faith!

If my period is due on approx. the 20 th, what is the earliest date I could show potential symptoms x

lottieb92 · 13/12/2021 21:36

Hello everyone and newbies joining, great to have you! Wishing you best of luck in your TTC journey. It’s a lovely positive thread and I’ve found it so helpful.

I took a relaxed approach this month albeit only our 2nd month for number #2 😅
I’m CD24 of a average 32 day cycle. And fortunately the festive period has kept me too busy to symptom spot/ but reflecting tonight I have not one, except a chin full of grim spots which is unlike me!

Anyone else testing Thursday/ Friday? Xx

lottieb92 · 13/12/2021 21:40

@silvercosmopolitian … sadly everyone is different and there isn’t one sure symptom! Especially as they are very similar to period symptoms… annoying or what

I’d say two or three days before your period is when you might know something is different personally?! But some know about 7 days after ovulation.
Maybe keep a diary, might be something nice to look at if this turns into your BFP!

BabyBird20 · 13/12/2021 21:57

@silvercosmopolitian I am due af the same time as you and have been trying very hard not to symptom spot then felt sick all day today but trying not to get my hopes up!! Realistically I could test from sat/sun with the early detection ones I think but will try and hold off unless I notice any real symptoms in the next few days!

Natalie2304 · 13/12/2021 22:18

@Squiff70 @lottieb92 I'm due to test on Thursday and after obsessing last month I am going to wait until then too. I will be 11DPO then which is when I got my BFP with DD.
If today was IB then hopefully by Thursday there will be enough HCG to pick up too 🤞🏻

What DPO will you be on Thursday Lottie? Xx

Squiff70 · 13/12/2021 22:30

@silvercosmopolitian it's hard to say but technically any time in the next few days. I didn't have many symptoms as such but felt VERY bloated from about 4DPO which I put down to eating too many Christmas choccies. Maybe that's still the case Blush

@lottieb92 best of luck if you decide to test later this week! Let us know how you get on. Same for you @Natalie2304!

beckybabyx · 13/12/2021 23:46

@Natalie2304 I had implantation bleed before my BFP. 7-9dpo it was literally a tinge of brown every time I wiped then it stopped 10DPO and that’s when I got my BFP. I was convinced that it wasn’t going to be implantation bleed but my LP is usually around 15 days so it was quite early to be preAF spotting. Fingers crossed for you xx

SunDance21 · 14/12/2021 08:24

Please may I join? :) I haven't ovulated yet this month so won't be testing until New Years Eve...

For time TTC #1 properly since my second MC in Summer.

KateInHappyland · 14/12/2021 09:23

She has come!!! Thank goodness for that.
Right, January, let’s do this!

Shortmamashortcycles · 14/12/2021 09:51

@SunDance21, I'm not testing until at least Xmas Day so you aren't the only one who's got a late Dec test date! Welcome!
