@ShellUK09 how many weeks do you think a new pregnancy would be ? X

Yeah it's a confusing situation. My GP isn't able to do the HCG blood tests in the surgery, I have to go to the EPU and after the last visit there they told me to wait 3 weeks and if it was still positive then they will scan me, so 2 weeks left of limbo! I think we would have conceived 17th September if we did, although just guessing, that would make it 5 weeks again which is why I'm feeling a bit on edge again. Just trying to relax and see what happens, work takes my mind off it through the week but at the weekend I have more time to think, getting my haircut later on today anyway so that was keep me occupied! x

90mamabear · 09/10/2021 12:48

@ShellUK09 I went through this too exactly they same. MMC and then positive tests for weeks after and constant brown discharge. Unfortunately for me it wasn’t a new pregnancy but I’m hopefully for you. I would ask for a hcg blood test then you can know without 48 hours. Have you done a digital weeks test too?

It could be a new pregnancy, it could be your first pregnancy that you didn’t actually lose or it could also be what I had a just a very long mc. Fingers crossed for you I hope you get answers soon I’ve been in that limbo and it isn’t fair.

Are you in a position to pay for a private scan? Although I think 6 weeks is the earliest they will do them x

Mama500 · 09/10/2021 12:57

@ShellUK09 also when you pregnant ovulation test come back positive X

90mamabear · 09/10/2021 13:01

@90mamabear thanks for your advice, yes a blood test is the only way to know, unfortunately I have a bit of a needle phobia and avoid blood tests as much as I can! Getting the practice in lately though and have my flu jab this week. A week ago when they did the HCG test it was 63 which was a slight rise from the previous week where it was 43, but they said that was still very low and felt it was hormones calming down after the MC. I think I will buy a digital test and see what that says, then I'll try to step away from tests for a bit! x

@Mama500 sorry you have been through this too. It really is confusing, and you can't feel able to move on and try again, as there's still doubts about whether you actually are still pregnant. The thought of it still being the first pregnancy is scary, but I think the HCG levels would have been higher? I would be 9 weeks then! The hospital seemed fairly sure I had an early MC and I felt like I did as well, it wasn't light bleeding but it was like a full on period. I might look into the early scan, but waiting the extra week would make it more apparent on the scan so might just hold off for the EPU. Out of curiosity I'll try to get a CB digital weeks test today. Yes the ovulation test was very dark straight away. If it is a long MC it is very unfair, TTC is definitely not easy physically or mentally at times. Glad there's people here who we can talk to, really appreciate all your advice x

Ladylou17 · 09/10/2021 13:13

@ShellUK09 I had a mc at 9 weeks took over a month for a negative hgc, sending love know how hard it is. Hopefully it is positive news for you x

Ladylou17 · 09/10/2021 13:15

@ShellUK09 it also took about 6 weeks for it to all be over it dragged on. I understand just wanting to move forward it's hard when you seem stuck in one place x

Mama500 · 09/10/2021 13:17

It’s such an unsettling time and it’s so unfair on you. I wasn’t able to get out of bed I was a mess. With my next pregnancy I didn’t take no for an answer with bleeding I just turned up in a&e or EPU and I was always seen.
I’m so sorry you are going through this I really hope you get some answers soon as whatever is going on it’s extremely confusing. Fingers crossed though it could be amazing news x

Mama500 · 09/10/2021 13:20

For me I had bleeding at 5/6 weeks lots of scans NHS and private. Evidence of a pregnancy but measuring small had to come back in 2 weeks and there was no growth so I had to have a medically managed MC, after that I think it was another 4-6 weeks until I got a negative HPT

ShellUK09 · 09/10/2021 13:34

@Ladylou17 aww that's awful, sorry you went through that. I wish the body reset itself quicker, everything is a waiting game when TTC. We do just want to try again straight away and feel we can't do that right now, just need a negative test first. If it is a new pregnancy we will both be gobsmacked. Trying to take things a week at a time though x

@Mama500 awwww that's a horrible experience, so sorry. I guess it does take time to get a negative test, I am trying to be patient and just wait for EPU to see me. Makes everything else in life seem trivial when you are going through things like this, and you can't tell people as no one even knows we are trying. If I'm still pregnant I'll be amazed really, I do still feel pregnant but in my head I've put that down to the hormones fading and my body being on all over the place. Thanks for your support and will keep you posted x

Ladylou17 · 09/10/2021 13:41

@ShellUK09 thanks lovely. if it is the mc taking time it will pass even though it feels like forever and you can try again it takes the body a while to get back to baseline afterwards unfortunately after wanting to see a positive test all I wanted to see was a stark white negative so we could move forward so I totally get it x
Fingers crossed for you

ShellUK09 · 10/10/2021 07:25

Well I just did a CB digital test and it said pregnant but 1-2 weeks. I'm more convinced now that this is the after effects of the MC and the hormones fading as this makes me think HCG levels are not rising. I have woken up today feeling slightly crampy so I feel like AF is coming and I hope that it does as then we can start again and we will know where we are. Hope everyone else
Is doing okay today x

Ladylou17 · 10/10/2021 10:04

@ShellUK09 sorry to hear that lovely but hoping it's coming to the end for you xx

I did digital test on CD10 as well not 11 x
ShellUK09 · 10/10/2021 10:34

@Ladylou17 thank you, my period is in full flow now. I'm relieved! I am just glad the awful limbo period is over now and cycle day 1, we can start again now. When I got static smiley faces everyday for days, I did a pregnancy test and it was positive, have you done a test? Otherwise I'm not too sure if it can remain high for days as I'm fairly new to using them too x

90mamabear · 10/10/2021 11:02

@Ladylou17 I would go by the clear blue . Make sure and dtd today!! Those other tests are very subjective ! I.e interpretations of lines !! You can also have lunch fluctuations as the body prepares to ovaulte. They recon this is why a lot of women actually don't get pregnant as they miss their actual window! So I would make the most of today and tomorrow ;) if it's a still smiley xxx
