Hi there ladies , ok so My period is just over 3 weeks late going by a 28 day cycle but due to pcos my cycles are very irregular. On average about 34 days. This is the latest I have ever been, couple months ago I was just over 2 weeks late. I did a pregnancy test on Wednesday (2 days ago) thought I could see a very faint line but just took it as a negative. Since then i have been feeling very hormonal , decided to take another one today and there is defiantly a faint line ! The tests are clear and simple . I’ve taken a strip one and a stick one and very confused as they are both the same sensitivity (20miu) but the stick one is a lot clearer than the strip . Any experiences with these please?
Haven’t posted the test strip one as it’s so light it’s so hard to see but the test stick ones are a lot clearer . ??

First pic is 2 days ago
Second pic is today

Yep!

ttckelly · 02/08/2021 17:47

I’m nearly 4 weeks late ! But don’t know when I ovulated 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think the answer brand is about same sensitivity as first response , do you know ? Very confusing..

Can see a line but 3 days after my missed period it was a dark dark line! I'd expect a line like that if your testing before your missed period. The hormones double every other day so there should be a massive difference in test colours.

willithappen · 02/08/2021 19:27

I can see lines also but very briefly and would be thinking there would be darker ones by now. Call your doctor and get some bloods
Also, don't take the tests out the casing as it completely invalidates the results once you have done that.

Doing a test with FMU tomorrow , will update 🤞 thanks for the comments ladies x

I tortured myself when TTC with tests like this.

I feel mean saying this, and you probably know it deep down, but if a test is not getting remotely darker especially over an entire week, I think they are most likely negative and are evaps/indents. FRER suck for it - don't get me wrong they have shown all of my pregnancies but I also swore I had a lot of squinters the months I wasn't pregnant.

Good luck to you though, I know how soul destroying TTC can be.

ttckelly · 03/08/2021 13:30

@Candydreamer thank you for being honest , I agree . I’ve booked an doctors appointment for the 16th to request a blood test just to be 100% sure but that’s not for another like 2 weeks so could see my period before then. I have a feeling i could actually be ovulating now as I did an ovulation test and it’s nearly positive and have had some fertile signs so who knows what is happening, just going to keep positive and hope I get some answers soon . X thanks so much for all your comments, very much appreciated.

I don't want to give false hope but if you Zoom in on that last one there is a faint line. Could it possibly be a chemical? You definitely need some bloods done.

NotTodaySatanNotToday · 03/08/2021 17:12

Hgc doubles in approx 48 hrs so if by a week the test is not noticeably darker I'd assume a neg.
No one on here can tell you by looking at endless pics of tests, and even if people say they can see a line I'd assume a squinter 7 days ago should be darker and noticeable by now. You really need to see the dr and have a hgc blood test as this will tell you if you are pregnant.

@Lauren94laffertyx those are all faint positives, presumably very early.

ttckelly · 04/08/2021 14:43

Hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’ve taken a test with diluted urine (half urine half water ) as I’ve looked up the hook effect, where hcg levels are too high that causes a false negative. As I’m 4 weeks late I thought it could be happening. Showed a faint line but clearer ?

Positive ?

Still seeing a line. Odd though given how late you are. You really need bloods.

ttckelly · 04/08/2021 15:04

Yeah it might have come up clearer if I didn’t dilute my urine but wanted to see if i was experiencing the hook effect . I did test with test strips and no line on just my urine and a faint line on diluted urine 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m getting a blood test but wont be for at least another 2 weeks :(

Can you get to a EPAU? To rule out ectopic pregnancy.
ttckelly · 04/08/2021 15:06

@zippityzip would you say that’s the darkest line I’ve got?

OP posts:
lovescaca · 04/08/2021 15:11

You would have a strong positive if u where a week late never mind 2/3 weeks x

ttckelly · 04/08/2021 15:40

Yeah but don’t know how late I am because I’m so irregular and don’t know when i ovulated . ?

OP posts:
whistlers · 04/08/2021 15:41

I would go to the EPAU if it were me.

kitkatsky · 04/08/2021 15:59

@ttckelly you need to ask the doctor for blood tests. 4 weeks is too early for the hook effect and while I do see limes in some of your tests, you'd expect them to be wayyyy darker by this point. Speaking to your GP is really the fastest way to get an answer on this

Candydreamer · 04/08/2021 16:19

Can you not speed it up through your GP by saying it is causing you distress?
