Sorry to hear that @Miscarriage39 😟 sorry I've been a bit AWOL - welcome to the newbies and good luck with everything! So I thought af had started last week but no I had 5 days of spotting again and started at properly yesterday so on cd2 for me today. Fed up with it so finally called the doctors and did an online consult thing. They've booked me for 3 and 21 day bloods- got the first ones tomorrow and they're going to check for everything including progesterone and thyroid levels as I was concerned I might have an underactive thyroid (DD was born with it) so fingers crossed I get some answers soon! I also had an appointment today with the gp but seems she thought it was an internal exam to do swabs as when I turned up she said I couldn't do it on my period 🤦‍♀️ haha so going back for that next week. Even though I'm terrified they'll find something is wrong I'm so relieved they're going to check it all out for me and were really helpful. It just feels like I might finally get some answers 🤞🤞 hope everyone else is doing ok today!

Babyghirl · 07/07/2021 15:02

@kiwi17
So glad the doctors now seem to be playing ball with u and checking u over, hopefully you get some answers and if anything is wrong can get it sorted 💚

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 15:04

Glad they are finally checking things out for kiwi17. Fingers crossed that they can give you some answers and hopefully resolve any issues.

My doc has referred me for an urgent scan, really don't want to have a D&C as heard it can thin the womb too much. Is this true?

Annny27 · 07/07/2021 16:39

@lovelylittlesunflower I had to have one because I had an infection and losing too much blood - it thins your womb for the first few months but after that no issues.

If it had to be done to prevent further damage/ infection then it's a positive thing although I remember crying before mine because I didnt want it!

@PeanuttyButter yep me too! My thoughts are consumed with TTC all the time and what I can do to help improve it ect and Googling things that just do not help 🤷🏼‍♀️

When I went for my scan to confirm miscarriage the sonographer advised I give my self a break from trying and wait till the end of the year to TTC again as I'm still 'young'. I don't think people understand how hard it is to take a step back from something you really want and had but lost Angry

Thank you that's reassuring. I'm nearly 40 so worried about fertility etc.

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 20:50

The womb should return to normal after a little while lovelylittlesunflower. I’m the same age as you and had to have a D&C in March following heavy bleeding and an incomplete medical management. The whole team were really positive that there shouldn’t be any lasting effects on fertility and the surgeon said it was safe to start TTC after my first period. I know it’s terrifying, though. If it helps, I had a really straightforward procedure after a really horrible medical management, and felt physical well quite quickly afterwards. I was also home 4 hours after leaving the ward for theatre. Do you know when your scan will be?

So, just because I love over-sharing on here, if it was my period earlier, it seems to have stopped again. There was quite a bit of bright red blood at 9/10 am, then nothing since. Trying not to even contemplate that this could be a positive sign, but getting really fed up of my body being all over the place. Mind you, I actually did something surprising normal to distract myself today and went paddle boarding. It was actually really relaxing and I came back feeling a bit more like my old self.

kiwi17 · 07/07/2021 22:23

Ooh that sounds positive @Miscarriage39 🤞🤞 for you. Paddle boarding also sounds lovely even though I'm terrible at it and end up more in the water than out 😂 I know what you mean about wanting to feel more normal. I picked up a crochet hook tonight for the first time in ages and watched some modern family and doing that instead of mindlessly googling and scrolling made me feel much better! Trying to not think about my blood test tomorrow which I obviously want them to do but not sure how it's going to work with my 3 yr old in the room with me 😟

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 22:27

Can you give her your phone kiwi17? I know it’s not the pinnacle of perfect parenting, but mine have always regarded it as a huge treat when out and about, so it’s been very effective at appointments like that.
I totally get your anxiety, but hopefully these tests will give you the answers and be a step towards having that baby in your arms.
What are you crocheting? I’m terrible at crochet and knitting (much to my mum’s horror 😆).

kiwi17 · 07/07/2021 22:33

@Miscarriage39 I never do normally she doesn't even have an iPad or anything but I think I will just this once to stop her from crying. She had a blood test last week and was terrified so it just brings back those memories for her (She has them regularly as she has hypothyroidism and her veins are so tiny to get a needle in) aww I'm finishing a chicken I started in April! Not very good at knitting though 😂

H0peing · 07/07/2021 22:40

@Miscarriage39 Yes, I got a call back from a GP this morning. She said that they can offer what they call a 21 day test, 21 days into my cycle. She said that it will show if zi ovulate or not and insisted that it doesn't measure progesterone so I was a bit confused. She said that she was posting a form for me to fill out. She also said that I can call the moment that I get a positive pregnancy test to try to get an emergency appointment/prescription for progesterone. I guess I'll just focus on filling in the form to get the 21 day test for now. X

🦕 @ELM7 @Annny27 @Babyghirl
Hoping this summer brings some BFP! 🌞

The pregnancy thread is not as active anymore 😕 wondering how Nugget is doing? @nuggetlover

Babyghirl · 08/07/2021 06:37

@sunnysideup2020
Fingers crossed the summer is a good one with slot of good news, how have you been doing 💚

KJW00 · 08/07/2021 07:03

so I'm a little confused and wondered if someone could shed some light Hmm

My miscarriage started with spotting on Weds 16th June.
Medium flow started Sat 19th.
I had continuous medium/heavy flow up until Weds 30th June.
then brown spotting thurs and Friday 2nd.

I've had no bleeding since and a negative test (taken on sat 3rd)

I have no woken up to more bleeding this morning. Is this my period?!

SLCxxx · 08/07/2021 07:38

@kiwi17 glad they are doing your bloods this month, if you have irregular cycles then you might wanna OPK and do the “21” day bloods 7DPO if it’s not exactly day 21. The swabs aren’t nice 🙈 but routine for fertility investigation, lol. Is she referring you for USS too? If everything comes back normal then she should refer you for further investigation with your local fertility team, that’s what my GP said to me anyway, hope it’s the same with you. Good luck with everything 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Babyghirl · 08/07/2021 08:30

@KJW00
Won't be your period they say if you bleed before 20 days after the bleeding stopping its nt your period 💚

KJW00 · 08/07/2021 08:34

@Babyghirl ah ok! maybe it's a drop in my hormones causing a withdrawal bleed then.

Bloody fed up of the sight of blood now Angry

Babyghirl · 08/07/2021 08:48

@KJW00
Oh you do be I know the feeling is it a heavy flow, I would phone doc and tell them your bleeding has started again I have read on different threads people getting nagitive test but still got some retaining stuff left in urters hence the bleeding or phone epu and c what they say 💚

KJW00 · 08/07/2021 08:52

@Babyghirl no it's not heavy at the moment. I will give them a call and see what they say. I just don't like to call them because they just seem to fob me off a lot.

KJW00 · 08/07/2021 09:01

@Babyghirl thank you. I will give them a call.
I find it strange as my scan on 23rd showed I had passed everything and only a bit of blood was left to come out 🤷🏼‍♀️

kiwi17 · 08/07/2021 09:20

@SLCxxx yes think I may have to opk this month especially as I've been spotting at 9/10dpo so it's a small window to get them done. Nope not been referred to uss scan yet but wondering if they wouldn't have noticed something was wrong when they scanned me after the mc? She said ovaries etc looked fine and healthy but maybe they'd look more closely. Just thankful they're taking me seriously and not making me wait til it's been a full year! How are you getting on??

Babyghirl · 08/07/2021 10:31

Well I'm nw to be tested for diabetes matches in with my symptoms of thirsty tired and utis so we will see how that goes lol might aswell rub me out and draw me again 💚
