Ding Ding

Agency bus driver here so expect driving past the normal bus stops, someone incapable of working the ticket machine and definitely no change given!

In all seriousness I really hope I have all the right names in the right places!

Welcome back to the bus where anything goes, hop aboard, tell us about you & we’ll be here for you (there’s a song in there somewhere!).

This bus has a growing bunch of gorgeous black and white springy pups on board, tortoises & 2 feisty little kittens so bring your pets and pictures are obligatory 🤗.

We’ve got TTC happening in many different forms, shagging conventionally, unconventionally, with the help of scientific intervention, IUI/ICSI/Clomid/IVF & even just watching from the top of the bus 👀. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been trying for days, weeks, months or like some of us we’ve been around each other for so long we can’t bear to leave, nothing is TMI and there’s never a silly question...

Hell we KNOW TTC is tough, lots of us have had heart ache & are chasing 🌈so we are there for each other, as well as trying to have laughs along the way 🥰☺️

Oh and we like an embarrassing story to get your ticket for entry please!

And if you see mention of the boss' blog then blame these guys they made me do it...#shamelessplug

minstermusings.co.uk for the blog that’s where the full stuff happens

If you want to sign up & get updates please do, please note your username if you comment shows up to others so maybe make it anonymous she won’t be offended 😂🤣(unless you are mean)

@larrythelizard I hope you don't get many side effects, don't forget you can use paracetamol as a good way to stave things off 🤞🏻yes we got our BFP the morning of the day we had the second viewing on the house we were seeing & it definitely helped sway it 🙌🏻I've heard of WFH but working from a show home!! That's cheeky 😆

@notyetamumbuttrying my parents love a new build too. COME ONE 🥚🍳eggies grow grow

That's interesting on the progesterone test @kaylsd so how many tests do you get in one of the £39 packs? I can't work it out? And if it says one fresh/frozen I would also perhaps think that means all frozen embryos left 🤞🏻

Juno231 · 26/05/2021 14:35

@minster2012 @larrythelizard The CDC says not to take painkillers as it might affect your immune response to the vaccine/decrease efficiency. I didn't dare to!

larrythelizard · 26/05/2021 14:58

So far just a sore arm but it's only been 90 minutes so would be quite something to have side effects already I think @Juno231**@Minster2012. I have various aches and pains but think that was the gym this morning!

Needs must @Minster2012, if you have a deal to close then anything goes!

Do we think Dr's would take @kaylsd's progesterone test seriously? I think that it's what my problem and I'm on another thread where ladies have been prescribed progesterone privately and then got pregnant but I'm not sure of the sequencing of events...either way I have a little while until Day 21 bloods to confirm my suspicions!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 26/05/2021 15:06

@larrythelizard yes and no I think! They won't take it as gospel but I've seen others use it as a prompt for the dr to order another one on the NHS and therefore get the ball rolling. Before the 1 year mark or whatever. I think the problem would be if it comes out low but not low enough to definitely be anovulatory - I can see a GP dismissing you then.

If it comes back terrible though it might give some a kick up the butt to get things going privately (if they can!) instead of waiting and hoping TTC might somehow work?

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 16:10

Argh! Asked GP if I could have bloods for chronic inflammation (I have had sinusitis for a year and still waiting for ENT) and APS to see if I am clotting too much but they won’t do it unless I have had 3 miscarriages! Bloody infuriating as it would be such a quick test for peace of mind. My very unhelpful GP’s advice was “just try for a baby it will be fine you are only 35 it will happen” 🙄 so I asked about aspirin.... silence. Just take some folic acid and iron apparently... and by the way we all need a healthy body AND MIND to have a baby but even though a simple blood test would provide that reassurance I’m going to have to work it out myself.... I could scream! Needless to say this was a male GP and not my very sympathetic female GP from before. They make me feel like I’ve lost the plot!

Soooooo aspirin, I’m thinking of taking it but in two minds whether to start from ovulation or BFP as there is a lot of different advice out there and I’d hate to do it without proper guidance and investigations but they made me do it! Any of you ladies taken aspirin on the sly?

I hadn’t heard that about pain killers and the covid vaccine @Juno231, we routinely advise paracetamol for aches pains and temps following vaccination. I’m not sure how that would affect the immune response?

Come on @notyetamumbuttrying eggies, time to get with the programme! Tell your ovaries we expect multiple beautiful eggies just like @Crazydoglady123 on this bus!

Congratulations on the house sale @Minster2012! Houses are selling like hot cakes in the country, my in laws are looking to move closer to us and they are really struggling, houses are sold the same day they go on the market!

Juno231 · 26/05/2021 16:22

@Haiyaa god knows, but you'd imagine the centre for disease control would err on the side of caution. But christ what an unhelpful GP! Could you get that simple blood test done privately perhaps? It's a joke though that more and more healthcare has to be done privately because we just keep hitting brick walls with the NHS...

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 16:27

@Juno231 I’ve looked and am very limited for choice here. I would normally go to the Bupa hospital but they are doing outpatient work for the NHS so I can’t just get some blood work without a full private consultation. Been looking at those self tests but I don’t think I’d be able to squeeze that much blood out of myself! Plus haven’t found one for antiphospholipid syndrome. I guess I just have to do what I can and hope I’m not forced through two more miscarriages.

Sunbird24 · 26/05/2021 16:35

@Haiyaa I’ve had 3 miscarriages now, had a chat with my clinic this morning about my next embryo transfer and taking aspirin and they said start from ovulation, if that helps?

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 16:42

Yes thank you @Sunbird24, although I am also sorry that you have had the 3 miscarriages to then access that information 😞 when do you think you will be having your next transfer?

@Juno231 taken a look at the info on vaccines and pain relief. Seems they are advising not to have any before the jab which some people do to ward off potential aches and pains but there isn’t enough evidence to suggest there is an issue with taking it after the jab once you start getting symptoms. Apparently all volunteers in the trial were allowed pain relief if they need it so hopefully that reassured you for next time although for me I had barely any side effects the second time around. Typical 😂

polkadotpixie · 26/05/2021 16:43

@Haiyaa I'm taking 75mg aspirin a day from ovulation. I've not had miscarriages thankfully but I took it the month I conceived my son as I read it's good for helping implantation so I'm doing it again this time round. It's recommended for loads of different reasons in general for health (lowers risk of bowel cancer and heart attack etc) so I'm happy to take it

2020mission · 26/05/2021 17:03

Just FYI for anyone thinking of taking aspirin, this NHS document (page 8) doesn't recommend taking aspirin before 8 weeks. I'd speak to a health professional before making a decision just incase as it states it can hinder implantation:

mft.nhs.uk/app/uploads/sites/4/2018/04/12-123-Recurrent-Miscarriage-Service-January-2015.pdf

Franklydear · 26/05/2021 17:23

Also take into account any previous conditions, I am not advised aspirin at all with my asthma, but it's pretty bad

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 17:34

Yes I knew there was conflicting evidence @2020mission - there is a much more recent study that suggests that is not necessarily the case though hence my being on the fence:

www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/low-dose-aspirin-may-improve-pregnancy-chances-women-one-or-two-prior-miscarriages

That is just an excerpt as I can’t post the full study and it is small but from a reliable source. It doesn’t help that when you actually ask a fellow healthcare professional (my GP) they are absolutely not interested. I evaluate medicine based risk everyday at work which is why I had asked for the tests to help me make an informed choice but no such luck so am stuck with potentially delaying an implantation or suffering more losses. Having gone through one miscarriage I think at the moment I am leaning towards delaying a potential pregnancy rather than another loss, but I have time to decide.

I’m also not pushing other people to try it, and am only considering based on my own personal circumstances and professional knowledge so please don’t all start taking aspirin! 😂

Justanothercyster · 26/05/2021 17:46

@Minster2012 it was ok, we got a take away and just watched a movie after our new sofas came :) nope, gender is going to be a surprise. How are you doing? Congrats on the house!

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah I got some pressies which was nice :) grow eggs grow! 🤞🏼

@Franklydear don't worry! Thank you!

Franklydear · 26/05/2021 17:46

@Sausage1990 i thought you might like to know, had the dietitian's appointment for ds today, all is good, gave me a couple of things to try to increase fruit consumption but she is happy with his diet and weight considering the autism too.

Sunbird24 · 26/05/2021 17:54

@Haiyaa thank you - my last was Easter weekend so I had a recovery month, then I had my covid jab, and I didn’t ovulate after that (which is totally not normal for me!) but AF arrived a week early, so I’m going to give it until July to let everything settle down. Discussed all sorts with the consultant this morning and the plan is for a natural cycle, 2 embryos, progesterone to support and low dose aspirin.
If anyone else is considering aspirin then do discuss it with the dr/nurse/midwife first, for my situation everyone has recommended it but we’re all different so it’s best to be safe

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/05/2021 18:07

@Minster2012 they're just so easy! Minimum effort. Thanks for the eggy pep talk! They better listen 😂
@Haiyaa could you go for a 2nd appointment with a female gp? I've told the ovaries, let's hope they listen!!
@Justanothercyster aww glad you got nice pressies! I hope my eggs are listening to all this encouragement!

2020mission · 26/05/2021 18:15

Yeah true @Haiyaa I was almost going to take it after having 2 chemicals (both just reaching 5 weeks) but decided not to in the end. So far so good without taking anything although it's still early at 9 weeks. I'm sure there are some people it will benefit, it all depends on your own situation/health. Sorry if you thought I was trying to go against what you were saying about aspirin benefits, I definitely didn't mean to. Just wanted to make sure anyone scanning the thread knows it's not necessarily right for everyone.

Crazydoglady123 · 26/05/2021 18:18

Happy belated birthday @Justanothercyster

Hahaha @larrythelizard good idea

@kaylsd the amount of blood you need to fill the pot is crazy considering it's out of your finger. I literally got two drops and that was it.

@notyetamumbuttrying lots of time for them to grow! Slow and steady wins the race! Are you eating lots of protein?

@Haiyaa I hate GP's like that. "Just keep trying, it'll be fine". Like that's reassuring 🙄

Hope you're feeling okay @larrythelizard

larrythelizard · 26/05/2021 18:28

I bloody love this bus and it's knowledgeable passengers, I learn so much!! 💕💕💕

OP posts:
Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 18:41

Not at all @2020mission, it’s just very tough and I am still on the fence but absolutely don’t want any lurkers (or passengers!) to think it is a grand idea from a few comments on here! Glad you are getting on well with your pregnancy 😊 bet you are itching for a scan!

Might try to get another appt but it’s so frustrating when you are dismissed or thought to just be overly anxious rather than a rational person with legitimate concerns!

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 19:38

kaylsd · 26/05/2021 19:48

@juno231 are you in the middle of for first round then darling? Sorry I’ve not caught up much of peoples backgrounds stories to see where abouts they are with things, does your CCG consider age too? Mine doesn’t fund if your above 35 years old which I thinks harsh cut off point as I thought it would be 41 :o

@notyetamumbuttrying my arm is fine which I’ve been twitchy all day thinking am I gonna start feeling poorly is my arm going to drop off 🙈 the guy who did my jab said I might start to develop symptoms right up until Friday morning, I felt abit emotional when she asked if I’m pregnant prior to receiving my jab as I once was put off with it with TTC journey but as mines come to abit of a standstill I thought it’s the least I could do, least it’s one step completed ✨

@Minister2012 it’s like a small blood sample you send off in the post it’s just one test per 39 pound where you have these little finger pricks in order to get the blood out of your finger or as proven difficulty as known by myself & @crazydoglady123 it’s easier said than done 🙈🙈 and they receive the sample normally next day then takes 2 days for results to come online usually :)

@larrythelizard I think it depends on the GP as if they will take things seriously, I was dismissed by my GP when I did the female hormone one with the LH and it came back abnormal so I went to GP and they wouldn’t investigate as I was only off pill 6 month so I paid for a private scan which showed PCOS indications and then fed this also back to drs then all of a sudden they started to take me seriously 🙈 are you tempted to use the progesterone check to see if it’s low and could try feeding it back to GP for review? I hope you can get some answers 🤞🏻

Minster2012 · 26/05/2021 20:13

Just catching up from earlier
@larrythelizard I'm fully onboard with closing a deal where you need to 🙌🏻you go girl!

On the aspirin, I take it from OV that's what was recommended by my IVF clinic after my loss & then it was upped by one of my other teams to 150mg for the first trimester. I was also on fragmin 5000ml but I have sticky blood, however on the aspirin my ivf consultants opinion is "is doesn't hurt so might as well throughout cycle" then fragmin after BFP @Haiyaa it's not quite the same day here but often within a week or two, ours has been on the market for just over a week but only had one viewing so far (got another one come in apparently) so yeah pretty mental

@Justanothercyster pleased your birthday was good. Ooooo new sofas! Love a bit of sofa porn 👀are you finding out if you are having a boy or girl btw?

@Sunbird24 glad you are ok I wondered as you had disappeared, did you decide against the embryo testing?

@Haiyaa OMG that thread, how could you go near a guy like that???!!!! Urgh 🤮🤢

Haiyaa · 26/05/2021 20:20

I know @Minster2012! One of my fave comments:

It's sad some peoples' standards are so below sea level they'll shag rotten fish dicks.

I’m dead 😵
