Just wondering if anyone conceived straight away?

OP posts:
needahand · 07/11/2007 14:38

me first time round

took about four months the second time

3madboys · 07/11/2007 14:38

yep ds1 was a 'one off' when we were at uni, ds2 fell in the first month of trying, then miscarried but was preg again straightaway.

ds3 took three weeks and the 'bump' due in feb was also a 'one off'

i have to say at times i feel incredibly guilty at the ease with which i have got pregnant, esp as i have friends who have had to have IVF etc.

sweetkitty · 07/11/2007 14:40

DD1 - 9 months of ttc but one chemical pregnancy
DD2 - first month of ttc
DB3 - first month of ttc but mc
DB4 - 2nd month of ttc

LadyOfWaffle · 07/11/2007 14:41

I did - had everything timed down to a tea, just has tubes flushed, on all the pronatal stuff etc. and it went totally by the book!

debinaustria · 07/11/2007 14:45

1st baby took 6 months to conceive, 2nd was 1st month and now I'm pregnant again and also conceived in the 1st month. I feel very luck but dh feels cheated out of months of extra sex!!

us too first try...

LadySnotAlot · 07/11/2007 15:20

Yeah both times, followed by DH trotting round like a bleeding stallion and chirruping something about being the most virile man on the planet

HolidaysQueen · 07/11/2007 16:17

LadySnotaLot - my DH was exactly the same! We conceived the month before we were even officially giving up contraception so rather than First Time it was technically Minus First Time and he kept strutting around telling me how virile he was...

When our poor child asks if he/she was wanted, do we have to be honest and say "well, yes you were but the real reason you exist is because we just couldn't be arsed to use contraception any more"?

I'd expected it to take months as I have had a couple of gynae issues, so wasn't at all prepared for it to happen so quickly. I'd expected that if we got lucky we'd be expecting a baby in July/August next year, but instead it's due in March!

HolidaysQueen · 07/11/2007 16:19

P.S. I have a friend who only has to look at her husband and she gets pregnant...

Flame · 07/11/2007 16:37

I did both times.

#1 - Came off the pill to give my body a rest from hormones etc... decided that "what the hell, the odds of falling pregnant having just come off the pill etc...." DD is now 4

DS - planned, but thought I would get a few months of trying.... Again, the very first night as far as we can tell!

I am never having unprotected sex again unless I want a baby!

berolina · 07/11/2007 16:39

2 of my 5 conceptions were first try - they both ended in mc Another mc on 2nd cycle. ds1 was 3rd cycle, ds2 not-really-planned.

Like so many others we thought it could take years...3 weeks later I was pregnant with DS. We had been together 6 months! DD - immediately - I think DH just gave me a hard stare...

systemsaddict · 07/11/2007 16:55

2y ttc first time, so expected the same next time round and got pg after doing it once .... Dp was rather suspicious when I got BFP!!

Nettee · 07/11/2007 17:33

ds - first bit of risk taking
dd - first month of trying - about a week after the coil came out

currently relying on lactational amenorrhea - very dodgy I am sure - must get that coil in again quick sharp!

rozzyraspberry · 07/11/2007 19:21

Second month with ds1 and first month with ds2 and ds3 (due Feb). Despite all being planned came as a shock each time - particularly this time as I had convinced myself it would take a while for some reason!

Idobelieveinfairies · 07/11/2007 19:24

every single time-once on the pill (tummy upset)

Concieved 2nd set of twins when 'taking a chance' on the 25th day of my cycle...(28-30 day cycle)

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 07/11/2007 19:41

I have conceived twice on 1st cycle and my current pregnancy was 2 weeks after a miscarriage, so er, no cycle at all that time.
