Just wondering if anyone conceived straight away?

OP posts:
tryingtoleave · 07/11/2007 11:33

I did - it was a bit of a surprise - I expected it to take months.

weeonion · 07/11/2007 11:33

same here- we had planned on it taking up to a year. hmmmm - 3 weeks later we were pregnant.

RomanCandles · 07/11/2007 11:34

Twice.

bethoo · 07/11/2007 11:35

i was with my dp only a shortwhile and we used protection all thetime, then one night i said not to bother and low and behold it happened! needless to say i lost the baby but was able to conceive again shortly afterwards and now i have a wonderful 8 month old who likes to pull my hair and gouge out my eyes!

RomanCandles · 07/11/2007 11:36

What did the policeman say to his tummy?

You're under avest.

RomanCandles · 07/11/2007 11:36

i did. it came as a shock even though we planned! i thought it would takee a few months. my sister and mum were the same with their babies.

Ilovenutella · 07/11/2007 12:36

Yes - absolute shock as planned to start trying in earnest in Jan 07 - started 'freestyling' in Nov thinking it would take a few months. I and DH worked away from home a lot in nov... when i did pregnancy test in Dec his comment was 'You can't be, we need to have sex first' (we hadn't had a fruity month iykwim!) Anyway - have gorgeous DD of 2 mths now........

ruddynorah · 07/11/2007 12:38

me. on our wedding night. dd born 9 months later. hopefully will be the same for next one too, though lots of people seem to find the second harder to conceive.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 07/11/2007 12:42

Yes - 3 times - and the second 2 weren't planned

Notquitegrownup · 07/11/2007 12:46

Me too with ds1. DS2 did take a lot longer - c. 8 months.

herbiemom · 07/11/2007 12:58

Both conceived on first 'attempt'. DP calls himself 'One-shot' and likes to brag about his super-sperm! Sad, I know.

I believed the myth that 2nd babies take longer to conceive and decided to start trying when DS1 was only 6 months old, thinking it might take a while. Twas a bit of a shock but a lovely one!

NorthernLurker · 07/11/2007 14:24

3 times - believe me I know how lucky we have been - down side of this, so to speak, is that I never ever ever throw caution to the wind - am convinced we would never get away with it

CarGirl · 07/11/2007 14:31

1st time with dc1 & 3, and sort of 1st time with dc2 & 4 - basically as soon as having deepo/pill wore off (ie lost the extra weight it makes me carry) I was pregnant. I am so fertile it's quite frightening.

pagwatch · 07/11/2007 14:33

herbie
ditto .
3 times we said "well lets try and then if we have a baby in the next year or so that would be great. And EVERY time I concieved straight away.
Mind you my mother had 8 children in ten years so perhaps it was me rather than "dead eye" .
caused a few probs with seconf DC when DH thought about it for a week or two and then said perhaps we should wait until our finances were a bit more organized ( and i had just been promoted) but I was already pregnant.
He RAN to get the snip while on brief paternity leave just in case..

( have never told anyone about speedy conception except my mum as two of my sisters had huge problems )

Dottydot · 07/11/2007 14:34

dp fell pregnant the second time, and considering we were having to time things to the hour, drive from London to Manchester to collect the sperm and we could only get 2 lots a month, it was pretty amazing!

meemar · 07/11/2007 14:37

yes - stupidly thought it might take about 6 months. We were not in the best financial position.

Then 2nd time round, did exactly the same . Thought 'oh it will probably take about 6 months this time' but it happened 1st time, so ended up getting married with a 7 month bump!
