Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

I am starting to crack a little and a number of cheapie 10mui strips have just arrived a few days earlier than expected. Going to try hold off but I don't know if I'll last...

Ahhhh @FirsttimeTTC, @ElizabethP141, @Wondergirl1111 and @IndaFlowers I'm feeling a little silly now - gone back and looked at it, and I really think I was imagining it - basically I can see a line if I look at sideways (as in like looking horizontally at it) but it now looks completely white from the front haha. I actually did try inverting the colours and I really couldn't say there was anything - lol. Sorry for getting people excited! BUT I do feel naseus.

Fortunately I've got about 5 zoom meetings today and a hard work deadline so I'll be super busy (when I can drag myself away from mumsnet...) but yes I will test tomorrow morning and let you know. Let me be a lesson to you all - step away from those tests! This is definitely not worth it, even if it does turn out to be positive.

@Aubyone don’t feel silly! We’ve all done it! My DH convinced me into doing a test late last night, after I’d just drunk about 2 pints of water and only at 8dpo 😂 needless to say it was negative but you still feel a pang of sadness. We’ve all done it 💕 this TTC malarkey plays tricks on your rational side but definitely don’t feel silly! Fingers crossed it’s just not positive YET and here’s hoping we can all step away from the tests until a sensible time 😂💕

@Aubyone keeping everything crossed for you and it's good you're busy today to keep your mind off it until you can retest. When is AF due?

Yay @Fifi1086 the start of your fun week if you're not already at it ;) That part of the cycle is definitely a lot more enjoyable than this part!

@Fifi1086 yay for the flashing smiley!!!!!!!! I had two days of flashing and then I got static/peak - obviously everyone is different but those opks really worked for me. I also was tracking temp, and natural cycles confirmed today what the opks said - that I ovulated the day after my first static smiley face (peak). Exciting times for you girl! Go get baby dancing!

@Aubyone don't feel silly! As the other girls said we've all been there - I took a test last month when we had only DTD after ovulation lol - talk about wishful thinking!!! You just haven't got that BFP YET. You're not out the game this month by any means. Keep positive xxx

@Aubyone so hope that line gets darker for you... Waiting is so hard 😬 keeping busy with work sounds like a plan, although it's the evenings I find hard.

I'm not overly optimistic this month, think we dtd too much at the start and ran out of steam at the crucial moment 🤣 but it's a learning curve I guess!! Really tried to keep it fun and make dtd something we wanted to do, it's exhausting being in the mood all the time. I'm CD 17 and 7dpo according to one app or 5dpo with the other and by my ewcm I'd say 6dpo 🙃
My cycles are still a bit all over the place and I'm only going off apps and ewcm this month so was working on the basis of just dtd every other day (so hard to keep up) suppose you never know 😁

@KM11 I'm ok thank you - trying to just get my head down and concentrate on other things until at least 8dpo - It feels like the longest wait!!!! How are you coping with it? I don't know how my husband is like so chill and has not mentioned it once - it's all I think about!!!!! I keep getting butterflies at the idea of a BFP.

I'm worried for myself if it doesn't happen which it probably won't as it's only my first month ttc!

So I'm also thinking, we have one more cycle and if no BFP we are looking at xmas babies! And looking at my cycle due date would be about 23rd Dec - would you guys want to go for Christmas due dates? x

Hey all, I am also a TTC newbie we only started yesterday! I have ovulation pain today so will be at it every day in hope for a little one but also trying to just relax and enjoy the journey and not get too obsessed with it all, it is hard not to do! Especially when you’ve been looking at baby bits for years lol! DH and I also only pull out and never had a scare so I am also worried it will be a long haul but will just wait and see! Hopefully 2021 will be the year! Xx

@Wondergirl1111 I've not mentioned a thing about ttc for good few days now as I was driving my DH up the wall (don't want him to think I only want him for his sperm 😂). I've not got to the point of needing to test yet cos AF always shows up early 🙈 which is good for not spending a fortune on tests but I'm excited at the 'what if' 🤞 I get there this month and it's not a BFN. Need to be realistic though as cycles unpredictable and it is only first month trying. I like the idea of a Christmas baby, although a November baby would be really good.

Hi @JoannaRose your at the best point, so enjoy. We started ttc half way through a cycle so didn't really count it but I got sucked in and was a little stressed with it all, this cycle I feel much more chilled. Got my fingers crossed for you 🤞

Yes! We are starting next month properly!

Thought I may have missed it this month, but my CB OvulatIon test stated a big stable smile! So we have had a few goes! But think we missed ovulation to be honest!

currently 6dpo and dying to test but know there isn't any point! Had some cramp and tiny bit of back pain not sure if that's from standing a lot at work🤷🏻‍♀️ I also never remember my dreams and last night I had 3 seperate weird dreams🤣

I'm on CD8 so about to start OPKs tomorrow I reckon. Exciting! DH is enjoying this cycle already hahaha 🤣 next week he will think all his christmases have come at once.

Speaking of which I am a Christmas baby myself! (21st Dec) I always loved having a festive birthday but you do need to get used to having a child who will demand that celebrations go on for the whole month if they're anything like me... 😂 my mum used to give me one present in summer around half birthday to space it out a bit!

As my mum's birthday is 12th Dec I'd like to avoid Dec if poss, mainly for finances and also my husband's sanity as my birthday is already too stressful for him 😂 but what will be will be ☺️

I have been tracking my cycle via Flo app for 6 months and now and taking folic acid for 3 months to prepare for trying so I am hoping the prep pays off, it just seems so varied how quick/not quick ladies fall pregnant. It is lovely to have other ladies in the same boat to relate to on here as I don’t want to tell any of my girlfriends we are TTC, don’t want the added pressure!
I’m excited to see what happens for us all this cycle :)

11 DPO update 😂

Big drop in BBT this morning 😒 although I did wake up 1 hour earlier than usual (5am) would this have made any difference or is AF on the way?

Weird thing is though, I've had no PMS symptoms... the only thing I've had was slightly tender breasts and that only started yesterday! No sweet cravings, fatigue, nausea etc. like I normally do.

How is everyone feeling? I'm only on cycle 2 TTC and I'm already feeling hopeless 😭

I’m 7DPO and feeling very unhopeful, I feel as though I do before AF is going to happen sadly, although I feel a bit nauseous this morning and my uterus felt so heavy 2 days ago! Almost like I had been hit by a bus down there! How bizarre!

Does anyone know how early as in (past ovulation day) you could use an CB early detect test?

@Ze123 I've read you can do as early as 8dpo - though not to be disheartened if you get a bfn as hcg may still be too low to detect - it doubles everyday so keep testing if you do decide to!

Sorry for the girls feeling hopeless - @FirstimeTTC and @ze123 - hang on in there you aren't out this month yet - stranger things have happened!

Last night I had crazy vivid dreams (though I do a lot tbh) but this one I was actually having early pregnancy symptoms and I was so happy just to wake up on 5dpo and remember all is as usual lol! But again - not out the game yet!!!

How's everyone feeling today? Anyone late in their cycle thinking of testing! I just can't WAIT to see some lines on some tests in this group!

Yesterday was absolutely false hope from me/imagining things! By the afternoon, I realised there was absolutely nothing there, I blame my bleary 6am eyes. Massive temp drop today, and a very clear BFN. I actually feel some sort of strange relief - like, obviously I'd prefer it to be pregnant but I'm relieved by the clarity today - there was absolutely no joy in yesterday, ended up being quite a hard day because I gave myself hope and then couldn't focus on work etc. Today I feel 'OK, I'm not pregnant, which is to be expected in first month trying but that's absolutely fine - get on with my day'. Does anyone else get that?

I have already decided that next month I will absolutely chart BBT because I really like that, gives me lots of info, and finish off my pack of OPKs but absolutely not do any form of testing until AF (which for me is 12 DPO).

Will catch up on others posts later but just wanted to update after my cheeky hope raising yesterday

@Wondergirl1111 thank you! We will see! I just feel very ‘periody’ is that’s even a word.. and this is only our first month so I can’t moan! How long have you all been TTC?

Morning everyone!

Feeling slightly frustrated this morning. I thought I ovulated on CD15 which was 25th Jan. Had all the signs and OPK very dark but not peak, thought I had just missed it. BBT didn’t shoot up however. It did rise, but not massively. I wondered if this could be slight change of routine due to lockdown or something and actually have seen on here that some women have had BFP when they’ve O’d without an enormous temp rise.

However my temp has been slowly rising each day and now NC puts O at CD22 which was this Monday just gone. I’m not so sure, didn’t have the same amount of EWCM that I’d had the week before. Luckily, if that was the case, we DTD lots O-2/3 just by chance. I’m just going to wait and see. Did a test this morning and stark negative so perhaps the symptoms I was having was a sign of my body trying a few times to Ov? Anyway, I’m either 10dpo or 3dpo 😂 or somewhere anywhere between!
