Newbie TTC 2021 club!

Hi girls - looking for a little crew to share the ttc journey with - we are newbies this year - decided on Jan 31st to start trying after 12 years together! but had literally just missed my ovulation day for that cycle, so even though we had some fun over NY we are properly starting next cycle around the end of the month - just have to wait to finish this cycle now, and I've never wanted a period to come so quickly haha!

So - any cycle sisters out there who will be trying with me on or around end of Jan? I'm Cd21 right now.

And feel free to share stories and ages!

I'm 34 and have been off the pill for about 2 years now - we don't really use protection just pull out lol and never had a scare so I'm a little worried we could have a bit of a long journey. Although my mum conceived me first time trying so I'm praying it's in the genetics lol!

Not sure about you but I'm already getting obsessed which seems to be pretty normal lol but it would be good to have some pals to talk to rather than my cat or my husband, who I think I could quite quickly freak out if he knew just how many mum'snet threads I've read!

Also... What are you most looking forward to being pregnant?

@ElizabethP141 no cramping/ stretching feeling today & not really any symptoms that I can spot! Managed not to test this morning, was so tempted 😂 but am determined to wait until at least 12 DPO!

I caved 😭 and tested! Let myself down hahaha. 9DPO & BFN 😞

Sorry to hear @FirstimeTTC 😔 but you are certainly not out! 9dpo is still very early x

@FirstimeTTC sorry about the BFN but definitely still in with a chance, apparently the most common day of implantation is 9DPO and then it takes a day or so to be noticeable on a test, so many many people get negatives early on and then BFP on like day 11 or 12! I also tested (8DPO) - BFN too but to be expected!

@HaresHoping @Aubyone why do we do it to ourselves? 😂 I knew full well it would be negative but I went ahead and did it anyway!

@Fifi1086 sorry your Opks were messing you around - did you dtd when your ewcm appeared? Which CD are you on now?

I'm 1 or 2 DPO - I think I ovulated on either saturday or sunday - I got peak fertility LH surge on my OPK on Friday - but natural cycles updated my O day to sunday when I put the test results in, while flo said it was Saturday. I thought LH surge meant that ovulation was on the cards the next day?
We dtd Tues to Sat religiously - but not Sunday as OH was at work - so hoping O day was Saturday!!!

Now commences the two week wait - anyone here with me in it? I am really worries we should have dtd sunday too - or that we somehow didn't do it enough - or even that we did it too much! I've read people saying that months they dtd everyday no BFP but the month they did it every other day or less they got their BFP all of a sudden!

Anyway, just here to try not to go crazy while waiting what feels like a lifetime - AF is due on Feb 14th - on which date I'll either be celebrating a valentines BFP or cracking open the wine...

@Wondergirl1111 Hey, I'm not 5dpo and have sore twinges in my lower stomach! Not sure what's wrong🙄 fingers crossed it'll be a BFP, trying my hardest not to test🤣

Arghhh ladies just seen about testing, why indeed do we do it to ourselves 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s just so tempting isn’t it!

Definitely not out though, still so early 💕fingers crossed for BFPs when the weekend comes!

We aren't telling anyone we are TTC, I couldn't take the pressure it would stress me out 🙈 I'm also nervous because we havn't tried before so we have no idea how hard it will or won't be....it's an exciting but nerve wrecking time!

To the ladies trying not to test - hang in there! ....Iv never experienced the TWW yet.....this should be interesting 😂😂😂 I'll have to distract myself 🙈

@HaresHoping we are almost on the same CD. You're one day behind me, I'm on day 8, same length cycle! Interesting to have someone on the same day.

@Wondergirl1111 I dtd for like 2 weeks straight 🤣🤣 in the end I'm pretty sure I had a chemical. I'd 2 days light spotting, faint positive and then heavy bleed. I'm on CD9 now if I count from spotting (which Flo told me to) but CD7 if you count from full bleed. It still hasn't stopped, was very heavy yday but seems to be lighter today so hopefully that'll be the end of it. I'm going to start opks tomorrow as my cycle was 28 days last month!

Seems a few of us on here are within a day or so if each other @Fifi1086 I'm on day 8 ✌️👯‍♀️

Its from fertility friend where looooads of woman (a lot in US, but also here) input data, so sample size likely quite good - key message, don't be dismayed if you're seeing negatives at 8 - 12DPO

@aubyone that is definitely great to know and keeps the hope alive.

I'm still holding out on testing, currently 7/8 dpo and aside from the cramps that are irritating, I feel....funny....can't put my finger on it. Woke up with stuffy nose and have felt out of sorts all day. DH even commented I didn't seem myself. Hope its not af arriving early!

Hope you don't mind me gatecrashing, but it's nice to hear from some people who are in the same boat. First month TTC ever - 30 year old newbie!

I came off the pill in December, and CD1 was 19th January. I started using CB OPK on CD13 (perhaps a bit late) CD14 and 15 I had a "high" reading. Not sure if this is right or if I was a little late to start testing but I guess it's worth DTD anyway. I wonder if I will get a peak result or if i've missed it??

@Aubyone thanks for that, reeeeaaally interesting. Confirms what we already knew to step away from the test but really comforting to see it all so scientifically like that. Thank you!!

@IndaFlowers fingers crossed it’s a sign of a BFP to come 🤞 I’ve been feeling just “funny” and although scientifically doesn’t seem logical, so many people say they just knew so perhaps this is the feeling they described?

Welcome @RoseP123. I’m in no way an OPK expert but I have yet to find a peak but have still ovulated so it could just be you’ve missed it, definitely DTD anyway 🤪 it could just be that you haven’t ovulated yet as well, things might just be ramping up. My cycles haven’t been average by any stretch since coming off the pill in November so remember it’s still very early days too and your body might just be getting to know itself again ☺️

Hi everyone! Sorry to be a pain but I’m just looking for some input/advice. We’re in cycle 3 of TTC! Around the time of my ovulation I definitely had fertile EWCM. Now for the past two days I’ve had big globs of thick white CM which I’ve never had before? Could this be a good sign? Or is it just normal CM for after ovulation? Thank you ladies! X

@Fingerscrossed94 hey 👋🏻 I've not experienced it myself but read that any CM after ovulation can be a good sign, the wetter the better apparently! 😂 so fingers crossed for you 💕

@sack83 omg no way! This is our first cycle of trying properly as well so we are really in sync. Let's hope we both get lucky first time 🤞🏻 not sure if it's a thing but I am impatient for my fertile window to appear now, it's like a pre TWW TWW 😂

@Wondergirl1111 oh bless you, try not to worry it sounds like you've done everything right! The apps can be so frustrating though can't they. We try so hard to get it all bob on with timings and then they go and change their bloody minds 🙄 crossing everything for you that you get your BFP! ❤️

Also guys I woke up Monday morning (TMI) SORRY - I thought I had peed myself there was so much watery cm (which I nevr get at night) and when I looked in knickers there were two small spots (spotting) - it was either 1 or 2 DPO - what do you guys think this was? Never had it before! Xx

@fingerscrossed94 - is your post ovulation cm white /opaque - or is it clear? From what I've been reading white/opaque could signal early signs! How many days dpo are you?

Morning ladies - I now know for sure that TTC is turning me loopy. I don't want to get my hopes up tooo much but, having absolutely not had any symptoms, I started feeling queasy last night on the sofa, suddenly have lots of CM, and can see the faintest of all faint lines this morning on a Frer - but let's just say it's so faint I'm not even going to post a pic as I really can't see anything in the pic. So, I am going to sit on my hands, get stuck in with work and try again tomorow. I definitely feel different last night and today (9DPO) than 1-7dpo but I am now convinced I am imagining things. Will update tomorrow but good luck everyone!

And when I say faint, I mean not visable from some angles, and extremely extremely faint, so I do really think it could be an indent. We'll see. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

@Aubyone eeeeek!!! This is very exciting! I don't want to make you go more crazy but I did see on another online thread someone couldn't work out if it was a line or not and another person suggested taking a pic on the phone and then 'inverting' the colours so that everything that's white turns black and everything that's not white (or. Your line) turns white... Might be worth a try XXX either way keep us updated Tomo!!!!! Xxx
